My SO and I are thinking about going to Atlantic City to get married. We can get comped rooms at just about any CET property. I see four hotels available -- which one is best? We've never been there before. Thanks for any tips!

Harrah's is by far the best, most Vegasy type out of the four. Plus it has a great adult indoor pool. It is in the Marina District next to the Borgata. Neither is on the Boardwalk.

Caesars is probably second and it has a central location right on the Boardwalk and beach. Ask for Centurion or Ocean Towers.

The Wizard is correct of course.

Best rooms are in the Waterfront and Bayview towers.Though not sure with Atrium rooms past few years. They were a suite with 2 tvs and pull-out sofa, same hallway off the Marina tower or the Harbor tower. The fact being it's your honeymoon and a $20 trick may help?

But even with Diamond/Plat staus now my buddy and I can't get back there last few trips..
Matter of fact they won't comp him a Sat night in November in ANY room and his host emailed back to inquire about my status as a guest in the room to see what she could do.

But bottom line, take in the boardwalk sights and smells if inclined in the daytime (Harrah's has a boardwalk jitney) and defintley stay in the Marina district.
Borgata is VERY nice and a very long walk. The B is similar to Red Rock LV.I'd say Harrah's is similar to the Rio LV.

There is no chance of tunneling you from the airport to hotel ,it's a flat fee of $ 30 guessing as it has been 2 years.
If you like drinks in your room, have the taxi stop at St George's pub in Brigantine for packaged goods as Harrah's gift shops do not sell Beer/Wine etc.Brigantine is just over the bridge past Harrahs and the Golden Nugget. Not sure if they sell liquour?

I can update any info I provided as I am scheduled for mid-November for a few days..

Forgot to mention all the rooms at Harrah's have a mini-fridge

Yes, Harrahs Atlantic City is best chioce of CET hotels in Atlantic City. IOM, marina is better location then boardwalk Atlantic City. Harrahs shares the neighbor with Borgata and Golden Nugget which are both top shelf and deserve a visit. Good choice of resturants and clubs between all three hotels. Golden Nugget has a fun "Deck" as well as the "Chart House" resturant overlooking Farley Marina with a great view of the many boats and yachets docked there, if you like to dream. The all-season pool at Harrahs is a must consideration this time of year. If you go with Harrahs ask for the Waterfront or Bayview tower. Newest rooms and the elevator drop you off directly across from the pool. The Atrium tower rooms are like mini-suites with a seperate bedroom and a small living room area, two TVs etc. Other towers are just your basic rooms. Don't know much about the other CET AC properities. Remember, CET runs a shuttle bus between all there locations (4) in AC. A active room key is all you need to visit any of there locations, so you can still spend a day on the boardwalk even if you stay at Harrahs or a day at Harrahs if you opt. for Caesars.

Thanks so much for the information and tips! We're trying to figure out the timing and logistics. I think we can get Harrah's comped on either date we're considering or at least partially comped. I know we can get Caesars comped. I looked up reviews of the other two and they didn't sound very good as far as the rooms go.

We will have our own car (driving from Florida) so getting around hopefully not a problem. We won't be arriving until Sunday night and will be leaving sometime during the week, depending on the dates we pick so getting comped for the weekend isn't a problem.

My SO and I have been together for 25 years. It will be nice if we can manage to finally get married.

I'd take the Waterfront or Bayview towers over the Atrium

Just my opinion from staying in all of them .The Atrium Suites are bigger obviously, but are getting pretty worn . The living room part has no windows with a view and unless you want the extra space with a seating area and extra tv ,I wouldnt pay more for them.
Harrahs as stated before ,has the pool area , ,vp bars and a nice location off the boardwalk next to the Borgata and the GN.
Theres a liquor store on RT30 in Absecon if you take that road into town.
Congrats and have a good stay.

Harrahs by the Marina. Surprisingly it is much much better than the Harrahs in Vegas.

    Hey Now!!!!

    Congrats!
I agree about Harrah's. Good VP right next door at the Borg. They also have 1 $5 BJ table 24/7. Last time I was there it was in the middle pit, on the craps side.

Harrahs is the top choice and if you can get into the Waterfront tower do it as a young couple. We like the Atrium suites because of the sitting room where we enjoy cocktails, room service or just watch some keno, but the location of the elevators are why we like it so much. They drop you off right in the center of action with little walking to the gaming.

If you must stay on the boardwalk, I would suggest Showboat over Caesars, and definitely over Bally's. Bally's has totally gone to hell and is run down, and Caesars is attached to that mess along and has suffered along with Bally's in cleanliness and clientele. Showboat is clean, with a very nice gaming floor, very large selection of VP, reeled slots and penny slots/video, but most of all always $5 table games with very personable dealers. We like it almost as much as Harrahs. We go to AC every three weeks and alternate between Harrahs and Showboat.

Thanks again, everyone. We've reserved a Bayview Premium room at Harrah's for the end of May. We're getting married May 28th in Niagara Falls, NY! Plenty of time to plan now. I couldn't get the Waterfront room comped although it was offered at $79 a night which, I suppose, isn't bad. They did say there were $26 in "fees". Anyone know what that is?

Your reservation must be for 2 nights.

Those are as copied from my last bill of a comped room:

    <table border = 1><TR><TD>DESCRIPTION</td><td>$ CHARGES</td><td>$ BALANCE</td></tr><tr><td>AC TOURISM FEE</td><td>2.00</td><td>2.00</td></tr><tr><td>ROOM ASSESSMENT FEE</td><td>5.00</td><td>7.00</td></tr><tr><td>NJ ROOM FEE</td><td>3.00</td><td>10.00</td></tr><tr><td>N J STATE TAX</td><td>3.00</td><td>13.00
    </table>

$13 dollars a night for fees beyond being comped that you have no control over at any AC CET prop. I wouldn't mind If that's just the way in AC but at Trump it's $5 a night.

You didn't want to stay in Niagara Falls? They have casinos too. I prefer AC but it's 10 hours away from the Falls.

Just booked a compted room at GN for Thu. night.

Room charges went up from $5 TO $10 because of :free wi fi in room" .Dont need that anyway ,but still cheaper than Harrahs.

So they charge you fees and taxes on comped rooms in NJ? Okay. I knew it wasn't a resort fee because, well, it didn't say it was and I could swear I saw a message previously that said they were "waiving" the resort fee (and it was $20 a day).

Oops. Also meant to answer about Niagara Falls -- we'll be there two nights due to the waiting period once we get the license. I saw that there are casinos there. I'm looking for a hotel right now that doesn't cost completely an arm and a leg. Sheesh. I'd like one with a view so it's proving difficult. Anyway, we have to drive home, anyway, so Atlantic City is only a little bit out of the way, I've never been there, and we can stay a couple nights on the way home comped (we live in Florida).

Dont let the taxes bother you ,have a great time!

Hell,I survived 68 years of crazy taxes, tolls and high insurance rates so two days should be cake. The weather has been really gorgous down here also, the ride down from Canada thru NY and PA is fantastic in fall ,leaves are turning, nice.

    Hey Now!!!!

It's $5 per night at Resorts. Can't use comps for that there, although you can use them for room charges. Borgata lets you use them for tax too..

If you get a comped room at Borgata, it really is comped. They do not mess with the $13 as far as I can remember. CET must really be hurting for $$$ it seems they charge for everything lately. An example, breakfasts at CET properties used to run $30 - $35 for three people now it is up to $45 - $50.

It's not just lately. At least a decade now those charges are around on comped CET rooms.
