Morning everyone! I am new to the board but a frequent visitor of Vegas. We have NEVER rented a cabana but would really like to give it a try. Anyone here have advice on renting cabanas that won't cost a months rent! :)

It is just my husband and myself.... Seems so lonely but with 7 kids from age 20 to 1 year the seclusion is alright with me:D

I don't know what the rent is like in your area, but you're looking at the $400 min range for a cabana for the day at a regular pool. most of the time that is a F&B min, so you actually do get drinks and food for that price, so it's not a bad deal if you want to eat and drink a lot.

Not sure what the rates are at other casinos, but Mirage is around $400-$500 on a weekday. It includes about 18 cans of soda, large fruit plate, large cheese plate, and a bunch of small water bottles. If you get the cabana numbers 13-15 (I think), you will be right behind the dolphin habitat and you can get a free peak if they are splashing about. This bank of cabanas is pretty secluded as it is set back from the pool with a grassy knoll between the pool and cabanas. It is in the shade and has water misters. If you and/or your husband does any reasonable amount of gambling, you may be able to get the cabana comped by a host at the end of your trip. Call early to reserve, as they book up quick. If they are all booked, put your name on the wait list and expect a call on the day of. Many of the Cabanas are reserved for the Whales, and many of them don't end up using them, so they will release them on the day of.

The price is partly a function of when you go.
May through August is prime time and prices are higher.
The weekends(Fri,Sat.,Sun) are more expensive than weekdays also.

I rented a standard size one at Aria Sept 10 which was a tues and it was $250
Rented a large one(10 people) there last June and it was $700+

At the nice strip properties you can pay $500-600 in season on a weekend.

last trip the MGM was going to charge $800 for a weekend day. It was just the two of us, and we weren't going to be there long, so we didn't feel it was worth that much in comps for that short of time. That also included F&B up to that amount, but with just 2 of us, we wouldn't even come close......

If the cabana is more than you want to spend, many pools will also let you reserve a daybed at a cheaper rate

    Thank you!

Thank you everyone... it seems like prices really vary, I was hoping to nail a deal here at the end of the "pool season" and it appears I found it at Rio with a $100 cabana deal during the week, not bad, I think we can consume $100 in drink and food. :) Prices really did vary when I started calling around, some hotels do not include any food/beverage with the cost of cabanas...

Many offer a deal like you found at Rio with a food and drink minimum "off season". The Palms just down the road from the Rio does as well, with excellent service and The Trop does too. The Rio pool is a lot of fun, so you've found a great option!
