I'll be there in a couple of weeks and this is our favorite game at the moment. Does anyone know if NYNY has some machines?

    Thanks!

Rapid Roulette machines move so fast it can clean your clock in seconds.
I dropped almost 5k in two hours on of those machines once.
    NEVER AGAIN !!!

Ah another fellow video roulette player! Let me tell you about my experience.

My gf and I love playing video roulette. NY NY if i remember correctly has the Bally's machines BUT they are singular machines (not side by side) and there may be 1 to 3 machines grouped together (I hope that makes sense).

Be wary, while I was hunting for a machine for video roulette there in late August, I could NOT find a machine that gave regular odds (36 for 1 or 35 to 1) AND they were all $1 minimum.

On a positive note: MGM Grand across the pedestrian bridge has 36 to 1 on their machine, and is also $1 minimum. I do not remember how the machines were banked at MGM Grand (the beginning of the alcohol hitting)

ARIA has a 6 bank of machines at 36 for 1 for $1 minimum, so you can sit together.

Mandalay Bay, if not mistaken, has 36 for 1 odds. Not sure on denomination choices as I played at $1 but didnt ask if there were any other options at a different bank.
Luxor has them, beware again, 32 to 1 odds. Sucks.

Cosmopolitan is our usual place for video roulette because of all the options:
    - 36 for 1 odds
    - Banks of machines so usually 2 open next to each other.
    - most importantly, denominations of 25 cents, 50 cents, and $1.

I have no idea where else they have 25 cent denominations for video roulette but I'd love to know! Especially at 36 for 1.

Wifarmer, are you referring to the slot-like machines or the 8-seat video roulette tables that spin an actual ball? NYNY and Monte Carlo has the latter with $3 minimum bet; MGM with $5 min bet and these machines pay regular roulette odds.

That was what I was referring to mephisto. They have an actual dealer but all the wagering is done on a touch screen.

You are referring to Rapid Roulette, Mephisto was referring to Organic Roulette :)

At NYNY they have at least 3 different kinds of electronic roulette:

Rapid Roulette: this is where players sit at a betting terminal and buy in with money that is collected by a "dealer" the dealer spins the ball on a wheel and enters the number in a terminal. This has regular roulette payouts.

Bally's Video Roulette: these look like a slot machine where players feed bills in to the machine, pick numbers and then at the front top of the game there is a video representation of a wheel that spins and shows where the ball lands. These ones have the short odds at a few casinos (straight up bet paying 32-1 or 34-1, split bet paying 16-1 or 17-1). These are single player machines.

Organic Roulette: these are colored black and red, they are a group of betting terminals, usually 4-8, that are around a pop-o-matic style bubble that has a physical roulette wheel where the ball is shot out the side. This has regular roulette payouts.

IGT's Roulette Revolution: NYNY used to have this as well, but I am pretty sure they got rid of it about 2 years ago. Its like Organic Roulette but silver in color and instead of having a physical wheel they have a big video screen in the middle of the betting terminals that shows the results. A couple of years ago all the MGM casinos had Roulette Revolution but most have replaced it with Organic Roulette.

I guess I was referring to all styles. Two years ago we played the one person machines at the Stratosphere and did just ok but that was really my first taste. Then last year we played on the one person machines aroundthe circle bar? at the Hard Rock. I made some money in short order there. This past spring we were in a crappy little casino up by Minneapolis and played the pop-o-matic buble type with 8 people sitting around. Paid for my trip and had a riot!! I guess any style without actual chips in hand is what I was asking for.

Also, your saying anything with the 36:1 odds is best for me, correct? (keeping in mind its' gambling is lots of time a loosing battle)

    Thanks!

35 to 1 (or 36 for 1) for single bets (straight up) is best odds for you.

Check every machine's odds before sitting down.

Losers always think they can get more, Winners walk away when they are up. Roulette can be a very harsh mistress. Casinos LOVE roulette players because they have a big advantage to clean your clock. Strike fast and run!

Does anyone know any casinos that have 36 for 1 AND lower denominations than one dollar minimum? more specifically MGM properties? I feel like all the MGM properties only vary on odds, not denomination.

I hate how fast rapid roulette is. It's nerve racking to get more than 6 bets out. I prefer to lounge, drink my drink, and win/lose money in (relative) peace!
