Do you feel as free to drink when you travel alone in Vegas? Do you drink strategically to avoid any mishaps?

Absolutely not. I sometimes forget I'm 43 and think I'm 21 again but when alone I am diligent about keeping my thoughts straight.

However, I was once at IP and sort of wrecked, I couldn't find a $500. chip that I "lost" KC, the pit boss, was crawling around the floor on her hands and knees, looking for it, whoops, found it in my purse the next morning. Luckily we have laughed about that after.

One other thought is I seem to make more money when drinking, guess my bets are a little more aggressive. So maybe I should??lol:beer:

Yes! Between being alone and having a car, I don't feel safe getting wasted. I drink but I definitely pace myself so I can stay aware of what's going on around me.

No, but I always have a night or 2 by myself and wander around doing whatever I want.

I travel solo sometimes and never found the need to curtail the drinking. I am a pretty laid back mellow drunk so when I start getting into the high BAC territory I just go upstairs and pass out.

I never take a completely solo trip, but I will often have a couple days solo on the front or backend of trips since my husband and friends can't take Vegas as long as I can.

I drink a ton whether I have someone with me or not. However, I have been reckless a couple of times I was by myself so I usually try to watch myself when I get to the point of being pretty f*cked up. I at least try to get closer to my home base when I am that wasted.

Come to think of it, I should probably wear a tag that says something about "if lost, return to (hotel I'm staying)". LOL

My last day of my trip in August, I had 3 of the big 32oz drinks at the Mirage pool, a beer or two playing at PH, then 7 beers at Aria, couple of beers playing at Harrah's, 2 martinis at Mirage, then a beer and a shot at the airport CPK bar. I still made it to the airport, through security, and boarded without a problem. (If I am :drunk: at the airport, I know to just keep my mouth shut... LOL)

Stay thirsty, but safe out there, my friends! :)

3 of my 6 Vegas trips were solo with the last being 9 days at Ballys and believe me there was plenty of drinking going on between the liquor I had in the room and any where else I ended up gambling. Since the weather was in the low 100's much time was spent at the pool with a small cooler filled with water and a bottle of whiskey which I chased down with beer from the pool server. I know I started off many a nights of drinking at The Stage Door bar. Now if my son travels with me all bets are off with drinking because it is 24/7.

It makes sense if you are a woman traveling solo in Vegas.

Same here, but between the two I try to stay "awake" bitching at myself, while waiting for room service, about being to lazy to pick up some grub. I tend to not want to spoil the buzz with food till it's over for the day.

Generally more sense, but if you are a plastered man, you likely would be a better target for people like pick-pockets, and of course hookers...lol Also more you drink, the more you might irresponsibly gamble, but fortunately I haven't done that badly in Vegas...yet.

As for me personally, I feel more free to drink when traveling alone in Vegas... :evillaugh

I drank enough to get thrown out of a Hawaiian family reunion at the Cal.

Which I wasn't really invited to in the first place.

I also noticed that I drink more during my last two trips going solo to Vegas. One of the many reasons I like Downtown is the short distances to most casinos and also to your rooms. The properties are not as huge and far apart like the Strip.

So if I'm plastered at least it's not a hike to the room, lol!

I need to work on my irresponsible gambling while drunk. I tend to gamble recklessly, and paid dearly on my last trip...:thumbsup:

I am more careful about my drinking when travelling solo; I like to be back at my home casino before I tie one on!

Hate to be an old fogey stick-in-the-eye. Most of you people answering about how much you drink and how much you get plastered while solo are playing a very dangerous game.

I love to always have a beer in my hand, but I'm always aware and in control of what is going on. Back in the day, I would get plastered and wake up in the back of a strange car, laying in the middle of the street or on top of a steam vent. I was 20 something, 30 something and had nothing to lose, which is where most of you are coming from. Plus, I have blackouts and do things I just have no memory of.

I'm in my 60's now and a beatdown could cost me my life. Ladies, you have more balls than I do if you go solo to Las Vegas and get plastered.

Also, I bet foolishly when I'm drunk. That's not how I personally want to play.

Listen to any newscast. Read any news source. There is plenty of evil and bad people in this world just waiting for an easy mark and it's all just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some of you guys are walking a tight rope greased with pig fat.

Sorry if you think I'm a spoilsport jerk.

I don't worry either way. Being drunk solo in Vegas is fun because you can get into all sorts of adventures with random people. But having someone with you helps. I got blackout drunk in AC recently and my girlfriend got me safely into bed, clothes off, drinking water, etc. If she wasn't there I'd have been passed out in the middle of the casino floor. So it's definitely easier to go past your limits when you're not alone.

I'm a guy though, that makes all the difference. I would never want to find out any girl I knew was getting drunk solo. That's too dangerous.
