    Hello,

As you can tell I am new to this boards, and Im going to Vegas for my first time in a month. I understand most clubs are pretty expensive and are either bottle service or by drink. Is there any open bar? I have only found Coyote ugly, and it is not the type of place we want.

Any help would be appreciated. I am pretty clueless since again, it is my first time there. Thanks!

Coyote Ugly doesn't have an open bar... maybe you saw some kind of special or special night/event promotion that included an open bar (like some places for New Years Eve or Halloween if you pay the hundreds of dollars for admission they have an open bar).

Depending on the size of your group and how much drinking you want to do you might look at bottle service - it seems pretty pricey on the surface but if you divide the price up between 3-4 people it gets a little more manageable and then when you consider at a lot of clubs drinks can run $10 for water, $12-15 for a beer and up to $30 for a mix drink it might not seem too bad if everybody wants a few drinks and you get the table to boot.

Pre game!!!! www.vons.com and sign up for a free membership and get the first delivery to your hotel for free. Cuts down on buying drinks while walking the strip and cuts down on the number of drinks you buy in the club.

If you are with a group and are all going to the same club go bottle service. Rule of thumb is 3-4 peeps per bottle commitment, usually 3 but depending on the club and night may stretch it to 4.

If you decide to go this route get everyone's all in cash amount up front and then work it from there.

If no, go pre sale tickets and belly up to the bar.

Not willing to do that? Then go to Fremont Street for the chepest drinks or gamble at the casino you are staying at and get those "free" drinks they serve.

Just to make sure we are talking the same thing when you say open bar. You are looking for a place to drink w/o having to pay for each round, or just a bar that you can go in and drink and pay for each round.

You say you're new and have never been to Vegas, so I just want to make sure we are all using the same terms.

    Thank you all,

what I mean is a place to pay a flat rate to have "unlimited drinks"

Its 4 of us in our party, and yes, we will all go to the same club. If you could also talk to me about dress codes in clubs that would be great, specially for guys. I hate collared shirts, would a nice, expensive t-shirt make it?

A t-shirt should be fine. I'm not a clubber, but I have seen plenty of defensive backs coming and going in their Affliction shirts. When my party went up to VooDoo lounge just to have a drink and check out the view, the only rules seemed to be no shorts and no sandals. I would think that gym shoes may be a no go as well.

There are a lot of variables. Male or female. Age.

The clubs do not offer an open bar except special events and really super hot ladies. During the weekdays you can get bottomless drinks from 7-9 or time frame thing.

I would have to disagree here. Most clubs at least the higher level clubs like XS, Marquee, Hakkasan are going to require collared shirts and WILL turn you away unless you are a "somebody" or dropping a lot of money in their club.

You can possibly get away with a nice t-shirt at Voodoo but it is a bottom tier club. As for most clubs though I'd say your best bet is to tough out a collared shirt because you don't want to be the guy in the group that gets denied entry. Most doormen at clubs are looking for a reason to tell you that you can't come in.

I wouldn't think twice about hitting a Vegas club without a dress shirt, nice jeans (dark color, no holes, etc) and a nice pair of dark dress shoes or loafers.

    Got it. Thanks a lot

I guess the night beofre I will look around and see how guys are dressed. I dont think I will go to any of those since drinks are way too expensive.

Do you know if Tao, 1OAK or the like are any cheaper?

Some clubs have promos like ladies drink free until a certain time (Haze did on a Friday night) but so many people you will be lucky to get one drink. Try www.jackcolton.com for club info and contact a club host to see what they can do for your party.

Also, how many guys/girls in the party?

Welcome to the world of obscene excess. Yes those tier 2 clubs will be slightly less and you can get better deals on bottles but the bottom line is clubs are expensive. There's no way around that. Take what you think you want to spend and triple it and now you're closer to the ball park. Working with a good host at a second tier club you can manage to probably get out for 150pp for basically all you can drink. But even at $15 a drink that's 10 drinks. So it's probably still cheaper to just pay per drink.

Since I know people are thinking it but not saying it, I will. Plan and simple Vegas clubs aren't cheap unless your a super hot mid 20s female. If your worried about $10-15 drinks your most likely not going to like the $20-$40 cover and waiting in line. If your that cheap or on a budget then why Vegas? There is a country bar 10 miles or so from the strip called Dylan's. Bottomless beers used to be $15

Well I want to go to Vegas, and Im trying to see if there is anything not so expensive. If there is not I will end up paying what it is.

Its not that I am cheap, I am unfortunately in a budget since Im going on a cruise for NYE and will be staying a week in Puerto Rico as well, so I really cant spend that much, I will spend way more over there.

I don't think he meant why go to Vegas as a whole, but more like why go to a Vegas club...

You are saying in your original post that a place like Coyote Ugly isn't what you are looking for, but really you are probably going to have to look at second or third tier clubs and even they are going to be expensive - heck, for a lot of people even just a drink at a walk up bar in Las Vegas is expensive.

Voodoo at the Rio used to sell $75 all you could drink bands. Think it was $100 on the weekend. All of the Palms clubs did so as well but not sure if they still do.
