Do you have any pictures of pasta from good Italian restaurants you have tried? I completely understand if there are no photos.

I especially like spaghetti and fettucine! Place and price may be helpful info too :)

Eggplant Parmesan is the closest we can come. I would have taken a picture of the Black Truffle Fettucini that was the appetizer that night, but we sucked it down too fast! (When the waiter started shaving the truffle over the pasta and said "Say when.", I replied "Stop when it becomes obscene.")

I've never really understood the photo-my-food thing; I shot a cut roll last cut and thought, "hmm, guess that looks like a cut roll." I have two friends who shoot food professionally so maybe they've spoiled me. Most am shots look like a pile of carbs and protein, not something that makes me choose that spot over another.

Now if you like pasta, this place in Seattle serves up some of the best I've ever had: Tavolata

Have you visited www.foodspotting.com? We often check the site when travelling and exploring new restaurants.

    Sco,

You can always see food photos on Yelp. I salivate when I am researching a certain restaurant. Hope this helps!

yeah I agree. I never take pictures of my food even though they often look beautiful enough to frame. of course that's until last week - I had to capture the $75 burger. but of course, taken with a cell phone in poor lighting, it doesn't really look that good, like you said, so it's really only for my memory.

Because you didn't actually ask about Vegas restaurants, or the post would have been moved to the Vegas restaurants forum. Either way it would have been moved.

I'd like to know how to distinguish between good-tasting good-looking pasta and pasta that looks good but tastes like Chef Boyardee.

You going to leave an opening like that around this joint?!?!?

Anyway, exactly. I mean, you can take a photo of the Longhorns but is it really a football team? :rolleyes2:

When I'm searching for recipes online, good photography definitely influences which recipes I want to try myself. I don't eat out much so that feature of food photography isn't terribly relevant in my life:peace:

I remember Shifter mentioning that burger a few days ago, I think it was something along the lines of a half pound burger with truffles and foie gras.

Me either and it drives me nuts! I have friends on Facebook who think they have to upload a pic of every single meal or drink they have. They're all blocked now.

Once I'm back home from a trip I'll organize my photos by categories and one of those happens to be a food folder. Food is a big part of the trip.
Dining in a different town from a different menu etc. How often do you dine at 35,000 feet or eat an exotic meal in Vegas or in your case Hawaii?
I like snapping food picts. Ever listen to a song that takes you back to your youth? It's sort of like that. I take picts of bathroom decor too. I'm weird!
