    My Trip Report

Yep - It happened not once, not twice, but three handpays in one trip. I have been going to Las Vegas for 20 years, and have never had a hand pay.. let alone three.. Whooo Hooo..

    Friday 9/13
Flight - on the 7:10 AM flight out of MSP - flight went smooth and got in early. Picked up luggage and on our ride to the rental car facility, the driver mentioned that 22 charter flights had come in from Mexico for the Mayweather/Canelo fight and that rooms were going for $2500 on the strip. This was the most security I have ever noticed in Las Vegas.. they were out and about in the Casino - noticeably - 6 where you would normally see one or two. We then headed to meet our friends who were laying out by the pool at Excalibur. Changed in their room and headed to the pool for a few hours. Left at Noon and got the car from Valet.. Lots of people waiting for cars at 12:00 on Friday, so we showed the Valet guy our Platinum card (first time we have done that) and next car up was ours.. Sweet.

Hotel - Headed to ARIA and were able to check into our room. 5th time staying here.. so we knew what to expect. Originally the desk agent said we would have to wait for a bit as nothing was ready.. so I politely asked.."What if we are not concerned about the strip view".. and he laughed and said a room had just popped in. Nice. Up to the 18th floor, shower and get ready to get our gamble on for a bit. I went to the MLIFE booth and had my free play activated. Did a walk around to see what was new on the floor and hubby headed to the sports book to get a few bets in.

I like to play over in the area by the Roasted Bean.. it is quiet, I can normally find a machine I want to play, and my husband and I can find each other in this area. I played Treasure Island at 5cents for a $100 - but nothing happening so I moved on. I looked behind me and they had the community Reel Em In Progressive. I put in $100 in the Leprachaun themed game and figured I would get a minimum of 50 spins to try and see what the bonus did. I got one bonus of 10 spins.. and only won $11 so I was Meh on the game. I was almost to the end of my $100 when I lined up 3 rows of the Rainbow symbol which was 40 spins. During the Bonus if you get 5 interconnecting Progressives, you get a chance to fish. I lined up 5 and got to fish, I got the minor. Within another 3 or 4 spins, I lined up 8 progressives, so got 2 fishing options, and got the Major and the Top Major, and then it happened.. I lined up 3 rows of the Blue Progressives and got 4 picks.. WHAT.. There were only 4 FISH Left and one was the Mega for over $1500 bucks.. I knew then I was cleaning the board. I was going to get a hand pay!!! Yep Hand Pay $2346.98

Couldn't believe it... Went and found my husband and said very seriously.. "We have a problem".. he looked at me and said .. "Hand Pay".. How the heck did he know .

Headed over to meet our friends at Excalibur - played and drank a little and then went to BUCA di Beppo for dinner. Family style Italian.. Yummmo.. it was really good.. but too much food. Played a little longer and noticed the crowds were really getting heavy so headed back to the Aria for a little gambling and bed. Nothing happened.. but I went to bed with a smile.

Gotta do a little laundry.. will add Day two later.

Saturday morning I got up and worked out in the fitness center. My trainer challenged me to lift weights while I was in Vegas. I am intimidated by the guys near the weight benches, so I just took the weights over to the stretching area and used the fitness balls and Bosu instead of the weight benches. Finished up, got coffee at Roasted Bean and went up to the room, got cleaned up played around quite a bit at Aria.. Tried the Castle King - BeirHaus and got 44 spins.. resulted in $84 dollar win.. I blew it all back in trying to get the castle bonus. I tried some quick hits no luck. Choy Sun Doy.. no bonus. I didn't want to give back all my winnings, so I walked over to Excalibur to meet up with the crew. Sports book was hopping.. and our job as designed by the boys was to go to the Deli at NYNY and get sandwiches.. it wasn't busy and we had quick service. Ate in the sports book and had some Corona's with the boys. Then played some Caveman Keno.. and had a few more drinks. I was feeling pretty loopy - so found the hubby and he said we would head out in 30 minutes. I told him to come find me at Grizzly. Well the only Grizzly machine was being played.. so I sat at the bank of machines behind it to "Stalk" the lady playing and sat at a Konami Hot Winning Wilds reel machine. Max bet was $1.65 and I had no idea how it worked. I got the bonus and the result was a $422 win. I figured I would play down to $400 and move to Grizzly. The women playing Grizzly had moved next to me and I thanked her for playing the game I wanted. I then got a second bonus.. and somehow.. I got a large payout.. I originally thought it was $180, but it was actually $1800+.. OMG total shock. Called my friend who was still at Sports book to come over and see my winning hand.. she couldn't believe it. Hubby came over and about crapped a duck.. he couldn't believe I had done it again. This meant we were going home winners :).

Headed back to Aria, got cleaned up and went to the Cosmopolitan where we were treating the crew to the Wicked Spoon. Played a bit before hand.. crowds were really heavy and the outfits were RIDICOULAS.. I knew someone was going to sneeze and I was going to get hit in the face with flying spandex.. YIKES. Wicked Spoon did not have as many selections as previous and it was a little disappointing - I did like the fact they will sear the Prime Rib on the grill and the Mashed Potatoes don't even need butter or anything.. very tasty. I enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries. We went back to the casino and played but I was just feeding and not winning anything. I received NO SYMPATHY from my friends. After we walked over to Aria so friends could check it out.. drink service was slow, and place was packed because they had a Pay Per View of the Fight at Deuce. Friends headed out.. I played a little more with nothing to show for it, and headed up to bed.. Hubby followed up soon after so MAD about the Wisconsin game.. it cost him a $480 parlay win and he crabbed about it all weekend.

Will finish up with Day 3 - Flight delay and unexpected Day for.. and 3rd handpay :).

Sunday was ARIA pool day to start, then the spa for a massage.. treated my best friend as it was her anniversary (24 years) and her hubby was hanging in the Excalibur Sports book. We had great massages, enjoyed the Euclyptus steam room and got ready. We were having dinner at Five50 Pizza and us girls were heading to Zarkana. The Meatballs for Appetizers and the the boys built there own pizza.. us girls had the Gotham.. Yummo. Very tasty, love the crust and enjoyed every minute of it without getting too full. Off to see my first Cirque show. Zarkana was interesting... the acts were amazing.. but I'm not a fan of the singing in a language I don't know. I couldn't understand the actual "Storyline" but that might be how Cirque shows work. I was amazed at the skill set, but I can now say been there done that. Gambling was dismal.. I couldn't win at anything. I did try a few new games WMS Lantern Festival.. had a nice $200 win on the 4 Dragon/Wild Combo.. but the Bonus didn't pay well. Enjoyed Montezuma.. I had fun and it kept my attention, but it also kept my money. Tried Lady Godiva but couldn't get the bonus, Close Enough Sea of Tranquility.. I was bored playing this. Nothing much happening.. and since I was trying to go home a winner I headed up to the room get things packed up and prepare for the flight home tomorrow.

Played a little in the morning having my coffee, and got a little play back on Sex and the City the new version, somehow in one bonus I got three other bonuses, and walked away with an $80 profit. Headed to rental car return at 9 and were in the airport by 9:15..OMG Lines were crazy. Luckily hubby has status on Delta, so we checked bags in the Skymiles line which saved us a lot of time. Security took about 50 minutes. Picked up Subs and boarded. Flight was full and it was a bigger plane, had 2 seats, isle, 3 seats, isle, and two more seats.. and it was PACKED. No AC.. and it was getting uncomfortable. They announced maintenance was not able to fix it and they couldn't take off without it.. so we had to deplane and take all our personal items.. Not a good sign. Poor announcements - no information, so I went on Delta app on my iphone, and they noted flight delayed, check your options. No direct flights to MSP at all on Monday.. first direct flight was Tuesday AM at 6:59 AM. We booked it, and waited to see if they were going to fix our plane. People were trying to get on any other lfight.. but everything was booked after the busy fight weekend. Only the MSP Gate agents could help.. so they others wouldn't even answer questions. 1:30 PM update was part was coming in and expected to arrive at 5:30 PM.. and they couldn't gurantee a fix.. NO WAY are we sitting here. Called Aria and got a reduced rate room for the night.. went to Baggage Claim and waited in line to ask an attendant to get our bags off the plane. She also set us up with two $25 food vouchers. We had our bags by 2:15, jumped in a cab and were checked back in at Aria at 3:00. I was tired, crabby and had to call and take an additional day PTO. I was also burnt out at Aria.. so we walked over to Bellagio and played there. I played around quite a bit.. with my money lasting and the Crown and Gingers going down nicely. Had luck on Konami Fan-Tastic Gold.. cashed out $400 with a great round of Bonuses and two full screens. At dinner at the Café (Awesome French Onion Soup) and headed back to Aria. Hubby asked what the plan was.. and I said "I'm going to see if my Fish still like me".. went to the exact machine I had played on Friday.. and was playing for 10 minutes when I got 20 free spins.. within that 20 spins.. I had multiple fishing sessions. At 10 Spins I only had the big guy left.. so on the 8th remaining Spin I hit 5 of the blue progressives and fished for the Big One.. then in remaining spins.. I got 5 more progressives.. and since all the fish were gone.. it Paid $500 for that single progressive. Hand Pay $2745.61.. Thank you Delta for your maintenance issue. Played $100 more on 5cent Konami game and lost that. Headed to the room by 8:45 - knowing it was an awesome trip. Hubby game up 40 minutes later.. with $500 in Craps wins.. Yep.. we were going home flush with cash. Our flights, meals, spa, rental car, show tickets and last night of hotel all paid for .. and when all was said an done.. $6,000 ahead. Yeah Baby.. normally my husband carries my losses with his Craps wins.. but not this time.. this time I was the hero. I texted our friends a photo.. as they were now home (they were on a different flight) and the husband replies "Do you SHIT Money".. Yes.. Yes I do on this trip. Left the hotel at 5:30 AM and flight left on time no problems. The original Delta flight did go out around 6:00 PM.. almost 7 hours late.. No Thank you.. I'll take my $2,700 bucks and stay another night in Vegas. Thanks for reading.. here is my pretty Win.

Very nicely done. I've never done the 'bumped from the plane return to the hotel' thing but will have to add it to my gambling repertoire, since it clearly pays off!

Great report - thanks. Now go buy a couple of lottery tickets, you might still be lucky.
