There have been so many changes in Las Vegas in the last fifty years, I wonder what it will be like fifty years from now.

Dayclub pool parties are the rage, non-gambling is bringing in more money than gambling revenue, cocktail orders, and social networking are just the beginning.

I think there will be much more international visitors. There will be hotels which cater to certain areas of the world which means a little segregation of Asian, Latino, and American players.

It will be easier than an ATM to access my bank account due to the fingerprint or retinal scanners at the tables.

There will be a gay hotel/casino.
There will be male cocktail servers at all casinos.
Caesars Palace will be crazy hard(er) to find my way through.

However, I will not be an old drunk. I will be a very old drunk. I will have fun yet complain about how Old Vegas was so much better.

While the strip weeds out the lower end properties (CC, Riv, etc) and continues it's trend upscale.

Downtown turns to catering to the aging hipster population. Toques are now worn un-ironically because people are cold in the air conditioned casinos. A life wearing skinny jeans forces many into walkers before their time due to poor knee function.

Marijuana is now legal in a revitalized Block 16 in the smoky triangle formed by the Cal, Binions and the Downtown Grand. If you thought cocktail service was slow, waiting for your complimentary joint takes forever.

The Moulin Rouge re-open as the Molino Rojo. The first segregated all Latin casino, dealers speak no English (just like some downtown casinos today).

Boulder Highway casinos band together and create the third Las Vegas casino destination area. With similar feel and promotions to the late 90's North strip it will be themed heavily, walkable, and solidly mid-low roller. Small fun casinos with kitchy promotions will sprout up between the Major resorts. a working light rail transit will split the road from the Eastside Cannery to Arizona Charlies with working escalators to the overpasses. Lounges will have 2 drink minimum shows from the likes of Miley Cyrus, Criss Angel, Tosh.O and Carrot Top. "The Killers" will have an actual 600 seat theater at Sams Town where take up a 5 year residency. Comps will target gamblers. The Buffets will actually be great value again. Coffee shops will have late night specials. Shopping will range from Satin Casino Jackets "r" Us to the Fanny-pack Emporium. Pushing a stroller after 9 pm incurs a 1000 dollar fine.

And in 2063 the Bally's escalators/walkways will still not be working.

The Wynn will be a kitschy low roller joint with (inflation adjusted) $4.99 buffets and barely keeping their doors open while struggling to compete with the new ultra mega resorts being built on the strip.

    LOL...if bally's still exists.

But this last trip, when we walked to bally's and the walkway wasn't working, I actually smiled. It wouldn't seem like bally's if it actually was working!
