You are offered a free cruise or a free trip to Vegas. Either is 4 days and 3 nights in the cruise/hotel of your pick. It may be unusual but airfare is included for both.

Considering any/all factors you want to consider, which would you choose right now?

Where does the cruise go? Have you cruised before? Would it be a new experience? We love both and usually cruise in the spring and do Vegas in the Fall. Check the message boards at www.cruisecritic.com for lots of cruise info.

Cruise. Getting to Vegas and staying there is super cheap for me, a cruise would cost 2 to 3 times more.

Vegas. The "free" cruises always end up costing you a lot more from taxes to other expenses.

If it is truly your pick on the cruise, I would take that. The potential value would be the greatest. There are always very inexpensive deals for Las Vegas, and you still have gaming with both; if that is a motivator.

Vegas. Living in Florida and having numerous friends with boats, I can get on a boat any day of the week. I guess being in a tropical area, and living 25-20 minutes from some of the country's best beaches, it just doesn't appeal to me.

..Considering the only gambling I can do here is MyVegas, or go to the Hard Rock and lose lose lose - Vegas wins hands down.

If someone offered me a free cruise trip I would definitely take it.

But if you make me choose between ANY trip or a trip to Vegas, Vegas will win every time!!!!:thumbsup::drunk:

    Vegas. Without hesitation.
The cost of drinks alone on a cruise ship would, from what I've been told, almost match my entire "standard" gaming bankroll on a Vegas trip.

Then there's the issue of being a 'captive-audience'. Don't like the gaming, the vibe or the crowds at your cruise ship's casino? Too bad!

    {oops! most of the meals are included, aren't they? In any event, I hear that the drink prices will kill ya!}

That "captive audience" is another reason I won't go on cruises. I can't stand being cooped up, and like you said, what if I don't like my surroundings?

I'll go if it's free but I won't pay to go on a cruise.

A 3-4 day cruise is usually crap on a crap ship.

Do Vegas. It is always a guaranteed good time.

VEGAS!!! Seems like most of my time on a cruise is in the casino......a no brainer answer from Sam!

    Vegas for me.

I've only done one cruise and I hated it. I know people complain about the resort fees, but I've never felt nickeled and dimed the way I did on the cruise. And the one port that really made me book the cruise, we ended up having to skip the port because of "rough seas" that really didn't seem all that rough to me. I have a lot of friends who love cruises, but it's just not for me. I like being independent when I travel.

Vegas for me. In fact, I would be willing to pay for the Vegas trip and still turn down the "free" cruise. Even if you paid me money to cruise, I wouldn't cruise.

Like others have said, I just don't want to be captive on a ship. And then there is always the threat that the ship breaks down and I can't get off and we are marooned at sea for 4-5 days. Or, there are rough seas and then my DH is doing :vomit: over the side of the ship as he gets seasick just looking at rough waters.

Can you tell I'm just not into cruises? :evillaugh

I love cruising. My wife and I have been on several and have had a progressively better trip each time. That said, if my wife were coming with me, I'd say the cruise.

    But...

If it's just for me? Vegas.

I can rent a wife while I'm there.

    Santé,
    TL

What he said... ^^^^^^ we go to the beach every weekend - the thought of being trapped on a boat albeit large one sounds like torture.. to us Vegas is like being on a cruise - everything at your finger tips, great food, and even better gambling - I'd decline a free cruise and pay for airline tickets to vegas - hands down !!
