i just booked my free cruise as a platinum, the rep said there will be a host to hand me vouchers right when i get on the ship.

    A) what exactly does the host give me?
the rep said something like steakhouse place for $xxx and 10 drink vouchers, she was talking fast i cant really remember

    B) do i also get free excursion voucher? like scuba driving or anything at all

    C) she also ask me when i want to eat, then said i can choose between 7pm or pick anytime i want...why would anyone wanna pick a specific time? or is she refering to the steakhouse and not the free buffet

this is my first cruise with mlife and appreciate all the great info, really excited havent been on a cruise since the mid 90s

I went on my cruise in July. There was a note in my cabin telling me to go into the casino after the muster drill to meet my host. There she gives you the 10 drink tickets and puts a sticker on your sea pass card so the cash advance fee is waived. She will also set up a time for you to do your specialty dinner.

Don't know anything about a free excursion.

Dining. You can choose standard dining, which is 2 set times, an early seating or late seating, or choose something called MyTime dining which is more flexible. Go on Cruise Critic for more info on cruising.

Have a great cruise. I liked mine so much, I'm taking another one in October.

It's just a free dinner at the steakhouse. You get whatever you want. You don't need to worry about an amount.

Casino card? Sorry, don't know what that means. You use your sea pass as your players card. Always use it when in the casino. By the second day I was invited to join Club Royale, their player's club.

Every cruise has both a main dining room and a buffet. Both are free. The buffet anyone can show up at any time. The main dining room you choose your assigned time for dinner when you book the cruise. If you don't want to choose a time you do MyTime dining and show up anytime. If you do that you get a different table and different waiter every night. Assigned time you get same table and waiter every night.

Cruise ships also have high end restaurants that cost money. Usually $30 a person each time. You must make reservations. Royal Caribbean has a steak house that is $30 a person. As an Mlife platinum you get a free dinner for two, that can be used once.

You do not get a free excursion.

My sister and her husband are currently on the cruise I got for being noir so I'll update when I hear from her but from what I was told when I booked it they got 60 mins of free internet, 15 drink coupons, 1 free dinner in the steakhouse with a bottle of complimentary wine, and some kind of dinner with the captain.

Yes, I'd like to know this too. My BF didn't end up using his as he isn't interested in taking a cruise.

I added her to my MLife account. It took a little finagling to get her added but I got it done. Every month RC get's an updated list of platinum and noir card holders that are eligible for the cruise (from what I was told by the rep) so they know who is entitled to what.

Just heard from my sister, she called me from the ship. They are docking in Aruba tomorrow.

She said when they entered their stateroom there was a welcome letter spelling out all of the benefits that they had coming to them and to find the casino host. She said the host gave them 20 drink coupons and a coupon that they redeem for the dinner in the steakhouse. She said he just tore a coupon from a book and handed it to them so she said if they like the meal they might just ask him for another one later in the week. She also said internet service is 75 cents a minute but apparently it's unlimited for them (maybe she is mistaken on this). The drink coupons can only be used in the casino from what she said. The host also told her and her husband that as long as they are playing in the casino that he has no problem comping their drinks.

She also said that everyone in the casino knows her and her husband by name. They are not high rollers so maybe the host or floor men point out Noir guests to the casino employees and make sure they make them feel welcomed and special.

So far they are up around $400 playing BJ and having a great time.

That's about it, if any one has any more questions about the cruise LMK and I'll message her and see if she can answer or get an answer since she is currently on the ship/cruise.

Its supposed to be 60 minutes of internet for NOIR like the rep told you. 30 mins for Platinum. Unlimited internet would make cruising a much more doable option for me so that would be awesome if true.

Here is the list of benefits: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contentWithGallery.do?pagename=mgm_partnership

I know she's only supposed to get 60 mins of free internet but from what she told me on the phone today she has unlimited internet at no charge. She also said its slow as shit, like AOL circa 1995 slow.

Supposed to be only 15 drink coupons and the host gave her 20 and said he has no problem with comping more for her.

An FYI.... as quoted to me today by the cruiseline : the free cruise must be booked by Sept 30th and taken by year end. I would assume any perks for other levels will be similar. No idea if this will renew for another year.

    Link to benefits page.

Oh, and correct phone number to book is 800-762-0702

I'm wondering if anyone has booked their cruise recently. My BF, who didn't take advantage of the cruise, received an e-mail from M Life at the end of August - and it looks like it's changed. It looks like now for Platinum, instead of any 3, 4, or 5 night Bahamas or Caribbean cruise - that you can get a 3 night cruise OR $600 cruise vacation credit that can be used for any cruise worldwide - or used for ChoiceAir airfare.

Yes, cruise ships have worse gambling odds than the land based casinos.

I don't think these cruises are intended to be gambling cruises, where they track your play or you accrue Mlife points for your play on the cruise, or that you get penalized for not gambling. I think their feeling is that if they get a bunch of gamblers on these cruises, the gambling will take care of itself.

It is supposed to be a reward, not a committment to gamble on the cruise itself.

I may agree it is not a commitment, they (cruiseline) are sure hoping you will gamble.

And, I doubt highly there is any tracking or reporting of your play back to mlife. The award came no matter what your play was and was based totally on your tier level.

This is not 100% true. The free cruise benefits are based on play with mlife. A comp platinum will not get the free cruise. Nor will a non playing but shopping platinum.

I have never heard of play on ship being reported to mlife.

i just got done with my cruise, gonna do a quick update on things ive notice that have not been mentioned.

i was sent a free bottle of champagne to my room, not sure who sent it, i doubt its from mlife. im very talkative and made friends with a lot of people in charge.

the welcome amenity which is strawberries covered with chocolate for the first day, then everyday it was a snack or something like that, the first day i know is from mlife, how about everyday after that, mlife or im well liked?

what i really wanna know is, for linked accounts, and BOTH players earned (gambled and not from shopping) platinum, does both players get a free cruise or only one player get a free cruise? (as in if both players get free cruise that mean 4 people can go, player + guest x2)

My wife is a linked Noir. When I tried to book a cabin in her name, no go. That was back in September. No idea if anything has changed this year.

This could vary based on how you/spouse are in the system. Only sure answer is to call in to "fake book" a cruise and see what they give you. She calls and tries. You call and try.

I also believe the free cruise is TOTALLY on an earned level. If you are plat or noir, nobody cares how much was retail purchase (rooms, food, etc) or how much was gambling. Unlike almost everything in the comp world, it is not based on your adt or theo. The cruise line is taking a chance that if you got to Plat or Noir, you must be worth taking a shot at your bucks.
