This is just one of those curiosity questions. We took the Concord Bus Line from Portland Maine to Logan airport to fly back home. Do you tip the driver for retrieving your luggage from under the bus and setting it on the sidewalk? We were the 4th terminal stop and I had a window seat to watch everybody at the other 3 stops get their luggage. I didn't see one tip. Would you tip? I didn't since I didn't see any of the other ~30 passengers do it, but I must admit it felt awkward and afterwards I thought I should have. Really no different than a shuttle bus driver, right? You get so used to Vegas tipping everywhere, it seems odd when you don't tip in another city.
I have taken the SkyRide bus from Denver International Airport to downtown Denver a couple of times. I tipped $2 to the driver for getting my luggage. The first time, the driver graciously accepted the tip. The second time, the driver said he doesn't accept tips but he thanked me for the gesture.
I agree, if you have the cash on you, it's better to tip than not. it's just a couple bucks anyway. a lot of times I don't have small bills on me in those types of situations and I feel bad for not tipping, but that's life.
I've never tipped them. To get a tip you have to add something to make my trip better. Concord bus drivers live to suck the life out of you. miserable gits.
I typically tip if it's a private company but not if it's public (some airport buses are run by metro bus lines) So usually, yes, a couple bucks
Bus drivers tend to be fairly well paid, nothing wrong with tipping but I would never do it unless they did something that helped me personally, getting the luggage out of the undercarriage is part of their job.
