    Hello All,

I hope I am asking this question in the right thread. If not, I apologize.

Has anyone been to Slots A Fun lately?

Has it changed at all from a year ago? Do they still have, the 2.00 Heineken (At least I think it was 2.00) LOL

I've tried to find info out on it, but can't seem to find much about it.

    Thanks in advance.

I was there in June and I'd say it hasn't changed much at all. I can't speak specifically of the Heineken, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same cost.

I haven't been there in a few years. They took out the best two things (in my opinion):

    1. The craps table out front was so close to the entrance, it was basically ON the Strip's sidewalk.

    2. $1 blackjack.

Now they have zero table games at all. According to the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slots-A-Fun_Casino "there is no drink service" which makes me even less likely to visit.

Honestly, if you want $2 Heinekens, go downtown and The Fremont Hotel & Casino has this exact same special, at all their bars. (They also offer $2 Coronas.)

Or better yet, get your drinks (including Heinekens) for free, while gaming. The Fremont, for example, has $3 craps.

Thank you raisingoo for the info.

I always go downtown to gamble and drink and I love the Fremont as well.

Slots A Fun had always been a stop for me, for a cheap beer and some gambling. However, with no drink service, I'll head downtown. LOL

I was there last year and it was mid day and it was dead. I was shocked that draft beers were only like $1 though. no signs or anything but the bartender said happy hour goes from noon to 6am or something like that so i was very happy.

"No drink service" I take to mean no CW's circulating among the machines...was there last October & got served plenty of Bud Lights sitting at the bar playing progressive BP. At least I think it was BP - I know there was a progressive. And hey, there were plenty of seats available for our entire crew, and even ONE TV for watching football!

    Slots A Fun Re-Dux

This falls under the category, "If it's working lets mess with it"

The draw used to be cheap drinks and Black Jack. The late night table limits dropped to a buck or two and they still had 3 to 2 payoff on BJ, as well as DAS. One table at least was a two deck hand dealt but you could rarely get a seat without waiting in line, standing behind the table until someone finally gave out and left. The other table had a shoe, 4 or 6 decks as I recall. I usually played that one until I could snag a seat at the other, by means of hook or crook. Two other tables usually $5 I think, but my memories are foggy at best.

Parking was always a nightmare unless you like long walks late at night through the Circus casino shopping corridor from the self park back parking garage or the mile long walk of fear from the self park behind the Rivera. You could Valet but $1 BJ players are too cheap.

The best way was the Deuce bus stop in front and directly across the street. Many times I'd catch that bus after midnight and head up there from center strip where we usually stayed back in those days when the gambling on the strip was still decent enough to tolerate. The low buck BJ went on until 11AM the next day, and I'd still be there. They even gave free coffee, sandwiches, and doughnuts to the charred players around 10AM.

Drink service was dreadfully slow but you could always catch a $1.25 Heineken or Corona from the bar in back on the way back from the bathroom, if you hadn't seen a cocktail server since Christ was a carpenter. Eventually she would break away from her ongoing chat with another server or bartender to get drinks for the players, but by that time rigor mortise had set in.

The Slots A Fun was the premier low roller gambling spot on the Strip Bar None!

Sure they had that Craps table that closed at 11 PM and a couple of roulette tables as well as some OK slots. The best part was the bar top 9/6 Jacks or Better video poker. Yes, I said 9/6 JACKS OR BETTER !

Well, those days have since past and the gambling now stinks like every place else on the strip. The limits are still lower than most strip properties if you can stand the stale stench of grease, chilidogs, onions, and 10 years of spilled beer and unclean restrooms. I do recall the Men's room used to have an aroma similar to a tuna boat. I think they even had a valet once. I don't know if he was actually employed there or if he just came in from the street to hand out paper towels for a little wine money.

    Lest I digress,

The Strip & Downtown Express doesn't stop anywhere near there now, the Deuce has gone up and the gambling has gone down. I feel all welled up as I write this, like losing a long time friend to the terminal corporate disease that has become malignant on the rest of the strip.

Now a days I hang out Downtown or on the Boulder Highway where I still feel at home, the way we used to feel on the Strip.

As I write this I can see in my mind that giant slot machine out front, and the Westward HO next door. I'd walk past those sometimes on my way back to the Stardust or Frontier where we sometimes stayed, Coming in at 11:30 AM as my wife was just getting ready in our room to go out for breakfast, and then some gambling and sightseeing for the day.

Oh well as they say, those were the good old days!

When you say 'the limits are still lower' that might imply to some that they still have table games. All the table games were removed something like 3 years ago.

I might have made that unclear. True the table games have been removed in favor of low limit slots and some VP (refer to to FREE2 for any playable games)

I can say you wont find any high limit areas in this casino, which is adjacent to the Circus Circus.

There's really no reason to go there anymore for me.

If I want low limit games, decent VP and good drink service I now go to Ellis Island or Downtown.

Some of the off Strip places are pretty good according to what I've read. Allot of folks like the Orleans, South Point, Gold Coast, Terrables, and sometimes the Palms.

I used to frequent the Circus when they had that carousel of dollar slots that were 97.4% return. Those were decent for slots and they hit up to a thousand (three blue 7's) so they were considered frequent payers for dollar slots. There was also a bank of those by the back bar which still exists, but the least desirable machines of the bunch remain and the old two coin dollar slots are now gone. haven't been there in a while but I've seen players hog two machines for days, literally on those.

Circus Circus / Slots A Fun

On my July trip, I walked through both places, since I hadn't in a couple years. I did see some dollar slots at Circus Circus that looked old and took coins. They may be the ones that have been mentioned here; I know they were mobbed. Overall, I didn't like the casino, as everything seemed to be set at different heights with single and double steps everywhere. Difficult to navigate, for sure.

Slots A Fun was as depressing as when I was there last. The old machines I loved were gone, replaced by new machines, beer pong tables, and even a video game machine. Such a shame. That place used to be fun.

I sure do wonder what casino management thinks sometimes....
