    My Trip Report

First: I'm posting this from the tapatalk app on my iPad. First time using it so bear with me.

Thought I'd do a live trip report so I can actually remember what I did.

    Day 1 - 9/1

Flight from Detroit arrived on schedule and with no issues (unfortunately for them, the flight next to us on the runway had their cabin fill up with smoke as they were about to take off. I've never seen so many fire trucks in my life. That delayed us by about 15 min but we made up for it in the air).

Arrived at about 10am. Figured my room wouldn't be ready so I'd bite the bullet, waste some time and save some money by taking the shuttle. It was one of those shuttle trips from hell you read about, just took FOREVER. The driver drove right past the Cosmo to go to Vdara, then right past it again to go to the Bellagio, I was like, "Hello. Can I go to the Cosmo please?"

Room wasn't ready. I asked for a fountain view. He said he'd put in the request. I'd get a text when it was ready.

Gambling time. Played some BJ here at the Cosmo. Why are their tables so expensive? Their rules are nothing special. I did find one $15 table. Made like $50 during the session. But got annoyed with the dealer when she harped on me about surrendering, "no one loves it when you surrender more than the casino!" She compared it to buying insurance. Wrong wrong wrong! I didn't feel like getting on my BJ high horse and setting her straight, so I just went to the Bellagio.

Played a six deck $10 shoe game there. They do have some shoe games at low minimums early in the day. Made $125 during that session. Was this going to be a winning day for me? That'd be almost unheard of!

Got the text my room was ready. Went up and relaxed. No fountain view. In the East Tower, facing the Aria.

Went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, love it there. Don't usually like to eat at chains in Vegas, but we don't have any back home so it is a treat. Love love love the red velvet cheesecake. In the taxi back to the Cosmo I realized I left my credit card there. Grrrr.

Came back to my room. Relaxed. Watched the new episode of Breaking Bad (I won't miss an episode, even in Vegas!!)

Went back to the Bellagio. Played a $10 CSM BJ game. Had a good time. The dealer kept pointing out I was getting a ton of Blackjacks. A bunch of guys who were new to the game sat down and played. For newbs, they didn't make too many bad plays. And I ended up walking away with $80. The poor guy next to me said, "I still haven't gotten a blackjack! Not just here, ever!"

    Day 2 - Morning

Was up super early cause I'm an east coaster, and I wake up early as it is when I'm in my regular time zone.

Wanted to play some BJ at the Cosmo, but even at 5:30 am it was still full of the young d bag crowd and the table limits on their just so-so BJ games were jacked up.

Walked over to the Bellagio. Not many BJ tables open. They did have a $25 S17 shoe open so that's where I decided to play. Bought in for $200. There were to other guys playing. Both younger like myself. The one in the middle kept adding and pulling back a hand depending on his mood. He'd add his 2nd hand REALLY late as the dealer was about to start dealing. The pit boss kept yelling at him. She told him she was gonna back him off if he kept doing it. It was a nice little session. Doubled my buy-in.

Walked over to PH. Wanted to play some of their Super Times Video Poker with my BJ winnings. Put in $100, wasn't getting much. Got it down to like $50 and decided to try one of those "Build the Wheel" VP machines. I didn't realize it but the machine I sat at already had a few of the slots of the wheel built up compared to the normal starting point. It was just a nickel machine. When I finally got the wheel filled in I only won the 500 wedge. 500 nickels ain't much. Cashed out with like $42.

Decided it was time for the ritual feeding of the Lions Share machine at the MGM. Hit the three lions on the 2nd spin and won the $2 million. Just kidding. I put $42 and played it up and down for a bit until it was gone.

Then I played BJ at the MGM for a bit. Not a good session, dealer kept pulling amazing hands out of her butt. Bought in for $100, almost got felted but had one split-split-double hand save me. Walked away down $50.

At this point I had lost $150 of my Bellagio BJ winnings. Being the degenerate gambler I am, I decided to gamble some more. Walked over to Monte Carlo, they had one $5 game and it was empty. I love the $5 games there cause they have good rules and I can play two hands at $10. Sat down, bought in for $100. This was one of those sessions you dream about. I don't think I lost both hands together once. At the worst I think I lost one and pushed the other. In maybe like 10-15 minutes I was up $225. I decided to not tempt the BJ gods and walked away with my winnings. Pit boss said I had a nice little run.

Then I ate brunch at the Wicked Spoon. Overpriced at $42, but still yummy. Thy have amazing French toast and pancakes.

Decided I'd blow one of my hundreds on a super times VP machine here at the Cosmo. Was down like $50 when I hit this: dealt three 6s on the 10x multiplier. Could you imagine how amazing it would have been had I been dealt the fourth 6?!

Cashed out up $50. Nap time.

    Day 2 - Evening

    Kind of a strange evening.

Had to walk back to the Cheesecake Factory to get my credit card I had left there the day before. On my way I wanted to play some more BJ. Bought in for $100 at the Bellagio. Six deck shoe, $10 minimum. Had a really really good dealer (which in my experience is rare at the Bellagio). Very friendly, entertaining, and helpful to the newbies at the table. Unfortunately, she was absolutely murdering us all. No matter what her up card was, she'd end up with a 20 or 21. I got felted. First time this trip (which is actually pretty amazing for me).

Went and got my cc at the Cheesecake Factory then headed to the Mirage for more BJ. Had another good session. Friendly table. Was doing pretty good, then the shoe started to cool. I left while I was $50 up. Headed to TI. I'm not a fan of TI. The vibe there just turns me off for some reason. Played a double deck $10 game after ensuring that it was a 3-2 game. Pit boss said only the single deck games are 6-5 there. Couldn't get anything going. The two other people at the table were having much better luck than me. I was down for a while. Kept ing hovering around $50. Finally got back up to my $100 buy in and decided even was good enough for me.

Took a cab from TI back to Cosmo. I thought I was getting long hauled cause he went the back way and didn't take the strip. The total ended up being close to what I had paid the day before going from The Mirage to Cosmo so I wasn't too upset.

Played some Pai Gow Poker here at the Cosmo. It was a disastrous session. Lost $125 in no time.

I must say, I'm obsessed with the Margaritas here at the Cosmo. No casino has better cocktails, hands down.

Went back to my room and relaxed for a while. Then I passed out for a while, courtesy of the Cosmo Margaritas. I have an extremely high tolerance for alcohol, but those Margaritas knock me out!!

I'll spare you the details, but shortly after I woke up there was some adult fun in my room. *coughcoughwinkwinknudgenudge*

After that I was hungry, I hadn't eaten anything since brunch! It's not normal for me to skip dinner. I ended up back a the Bellagio somehow and found myself at another BJ table. *gasp* Doubled my $100 buy in and decided to leave.

Headed to the Monte Carlo for some reason. Still hadn't eaten so I grabbed a slice of pizza. Played some more BJ there and couldn't get anything going. Left even steven.

Came back to the Cosmo. Passed out. And here I am now typing up this trip report.

Today: more blackjack, Aria buffet courtesy of MyVegas, and who knows what else....

    Day 3

Woke up early again, headed to the Bellagio. Played their $25 S17 shoe game. Bought in for $200, lost it all. :( bought in for another $100, built that up a bit and ended up down only $85. One guy kept pulling hands in and out randomly and kept messing up the flow. Back home in Detroit, the Detroit gamblers literally would have beheaded him.

Headed to the Monte Carlo to play one of their $5 games so I could play two hands at $10. Played for a bit, couldn't get anything going. Got dangerously low at one point but built it back up to my $100 buy in and decided to leave even.

Ate at the Monte Carlo buffet for breakfast. It's kinda hard to screw up a breakfast buffet, so it was fine. However, I would NOT eat there for any other meal. You can do better.

(The banana stuff they have for their pancakes and waffles was FANTASTIC).

After breakfast I headed back to another $5 table. Lost my buy in pretty quickly. Disaster. Down $185 for today. I was grumpy and told the dealer this table sucks. lol

Came back to the Cosmo and saw they had a rare $10 table. Bought in for $100. I kept constantly getting dealt 14s. It was so weird. Other people at the table noticed it too and commented on it. Lost that $100 pretty quick. At this point I'd say I was on tilt so I whipped out another $100. Played for a while and miraculously doubled that, so I was even. The second I got to $200 I proclaimed, "I'm even. I'm getting the hell out of here!" The dealer jokingly mentioned I was doing pretty good, and I had only done really bad on the shoe I had cut (this was true).

Went up to my room, but it was being cleaned. Decided to go back down and gamble some more (maybe I should call the hotline).

Decided to play the Super Times VP machine that had been so nice to me the day before.

After only a couple hands, this happened:

Damn that game is loving me.

After this I was only down $80 for the day.

It was nap time at this point.

    Day 3 to be continued...

    Day 3 - continued

Woke up from my nap, decided to head to the MGM to see if any of their S17 tables had decent minimums. First I randomly decided to play more BJ at Cosmo. Made like $40 and left. Cabbed it over to the MGM. There were a couple S17 tables at $25, but they didn't have anyone playing at them and I hate playing alone cause I lose my money too fast.

I wasn't getting a good vibe from any of their other tables so I headed over to NYNY to play a their one remaining decent 3-2 table. What a sad state that casino's BJ conditions are in.

Bought in for a hundo as usual. Kinda wanted to kill the dealer. He was super slow dealing, and he was waaaay to sarcastic for his own good. Once when he was showing an ace he checked for a blackjack and acted like he didn't have one. Then after a bit he flipped over the 10 in the hole. THAT SHOULD BE PUNISHABLE BY DEATH!!!

    There he is.

I couldn't get anything going again. The other half of the table was doing amazing. One guy was getting more Blackjacks than I had ever seen in my life. But my half was getting killed. I eventually managed to get back up to $100 and left.

Headed to Mandalay Bay to eat dinner at the buffet courtesy of MyVegas. If it wasn't free, I wouldn't eat there. Buffet is absolutely nothing special at all.

After this, I played some BJ there. Had a good session. Ended up making $125. But again, what is up with dealers harping on me for surrendering when the book calls for it? I got kinda pissy with her when she acted like it's dumb. "Oh, so you're saying hitting a 16 will work out positively for the player more than 50% of the time? I guess I should always play at your table then."

After this session, my bankroll was finally up for the day!!

On the cab back to the Cosmo I decided I'd blow a quick $20 on some VP. I was gonna play at the bar and have a margarita, but I gravitated towards my favorite Super Times pay machines. After a hand or two, this happened:

This game is LOVING me this trip!!! Cashed out up $100.

That's all for today so far.
