Earlier this year we stayed at PH in the Vista room and there was a coffee maker and an alarm clock.

Just returned from our trip and stayed in a Vista room again but this time no coffee maker and no alarm clock.

What next, no TV or beds????:wink2:

I'd say for the past 5+ years, I exclusively use my phone for an alarm clock, so I probably wouldn't notice.

Perhaps in addition to a "resort fee" we can pay an "amenities fee" and get the use of coffee makers and alarm clocks :wink2:

So many clocks are set on the wrong time or the alarm is set and I don't notice until its going off. I use my phone as an alarm too.

It's possible they are removing the clocks because people like me unplug them to access the limited number of plug ins beside the bed. Charging my phone and tablet are the priority.

I do like a clock for the illumination to return to bed in the middle of the night.

No coffee maker, that's not good.

They will stop supplying toiletries and bathroom tissue. They will have a very good selection for you to choose from at the gift shop, though.

Ask your host to comp you a roll of Charmin.

I would have to agree, and I would think that most would agree. In the age of technology, cell phones are the alarm clock so most wouldn't even notice.

I can't imagine they would remove the alarm clocks. I had one missing at Mirage one trip. I left a note with housekeeping and one was there when I returned. Most likely, it was broken or stolen and they didn't put a replacement in.

Then again, with CET, they probably don't have the money to replace missing or broken clocks :evillaugh

Pretty much every room I've been in recently had an iHome unit. But I've basically never used it except to listen to my iPod.

Hard Rock has those Bose deals you can play your IPhone through... one of the first things I do is unplug it, cause I went on about a 4 trip run of having them turn on at 4 a.m. or so... all I could figure out was to hit snooze, so I just unplugged it.

Stopped using them a few hundred...probably a thousand hotel nights ago. Never trust someone else to getting me up. Before cell phones (remember then?), I had a few small travel alarms. Wake up call horror stories are a dime a dozen and just not worth it.

As to alarm clocks. Gave up on them as well. Never know if they work right or not. There of course are the ones that are already set to wake you up hours before you plan to get up.

I gotta say, I've been fortunate to not be victim to the preset alarm clock prank in over five years.

I will agree that it's a little insulting that coffee pots left and resort fees appeared.

Normally I just unplug the alarm and use my cell.

About 15 years ago my heavy-drinking Vegas buddy crashed around 4:00am and our GAWD AWFUL LOUD alarm went off at 5:30.

He tried to turn it off, but couldn't. He did some serious swearing. He tried to unplug it, but his drunk ass couldn't do that, either. So he grabbed the clock and threw it. It came unplugged, but there were batteries in it and it kept blaring.

He was about ready to have apoplexy when I got up and took the batteries out.

Same here.. use my cell phone as my alarm clock. I'm less apt to throw it across the room when it's screaming at me if I know I have to replace a phone and not a cheap clock. haha

I am also one who uses my phone for alarms when traveling...and I am terrified of oversleeping when I have to be up for something. So I set about 4-5 alarms on my iPhone.

Here at home I still use the old fashioned alarm clock.

Had a room with an adjoining door. Their alarm started going off about 5:30 am. And off and going, and and off and going ..... Likely booked a room for the free play and left.

I've never used an alarm in a hotel so just give me the clock.
