We were at the mgm last week and the drinks service while playing the slots was superb. We tipped every time and was just curious as to where the tips actually go?

Does the actual waitress you tip get it? Or does it all get pooled between them all?

The waitress gets to keep all of it.

Some waitresses do share their tips with the bartender in the back.

I assumed that tipping out to the bartender was the norm. Do some cocktail waitresses actually keep 100%?

you can bet that if one doesn't, she gets the shittiest service from the bartenders and will learn quick.

As a former bartender, I can also state that we shared our tips with the waitresses. Often in the back... :wink2:

    Sorry I couldn't resist!

Tipping waitresses? When I was in high school my buddies and I tried tipping cows. It didn't work. They would wake up, look at us, then go back to sleep.

They keep their tips, however because they are getting their drinks(either mixed or beer) from a bartender whose job it is to supply her, she will typically give the bartender a % of her tips, maybe 25%. But yea if you give a waitress a $100 tip, she will keep it all(almost, she wont likely give that bartender a % of it).

Dont feel too sad for that bartender though, he's getting a % of the tips from more than 1 waitress.(along with his own, which he may or may not have to share with the barbacks etc)
