I've searched and can't find many comments here about Brand in Monte Carlo. I'll be staying in the Aria and the reviews I've read elsewhere are pretty positive.

It isn't terrible by any means. But it is every bit as pricey as the top notch joints in town. And top notch, it ain't.

With Craft, Gordon Ramsay and Prime a very short walk away (and plenty of others within a cheap cab ride), I think you can do better without spending any more money or going out of your way.

Prices are ~10-20% cheaper than the higher end ones like Craftsteak or Gordon Ramsay. I put Brand on a similar level to Galaghers in NYNY. I have never eaten dinner here, I did have an app/desert/drinks though about a year ago. I enjoyed it. I actually liked the open nature of the restaurant where you can look over the casino. Some people hate this.

Will I go back? Probably and mostly because of the open nature of the restaurant. I just prefer that over some place like Craftsteak. Like I said I enjoyed the food, service was good. Nothing wowed me, but no one in my party was disapointed either.

I'll be at MC in a week and will be having dinner at Brand. I've eaten there before and I'm looking fwd to again. The tomahawk rib steak (24 oz) is crazy good.

I've eaten there a few times. I found it to be on the bottom of my list. It's not bad, just nothing great about it. I always order the filet, which while certainly edible, it's just not thrilling.
I've found Galaghers to be a superior place (pretty much the same price point).

I agree. For dollar value and taste...Gallaghers wins. Just a 5 minute walk over to NYNY.

The open nature appeals to me also. I'll be traveling solo and would rather people watch over the casino than eat in a closed in restaurant. I'm also intrigued by the fact that they cook their steaks over a wood fire as opposed to broiling them. Apparently, they use Choice instead of Prime beef but I've grilled enough delicious Choice rib eyes in my back yard to not be deterred by that. :licklips:

I agree. JG's is a gem and should be getting more love as one of the top steakhouses in town.

Brand is close in price to other good steakhouses, but it's not equivalent in quality. It's not bad at all, but for the money you're better off elsewhere.

Yep, I always get the Tomahawk and am VERY pleased. We go back every trip. We used to frequent Gallaghers in NYNY, but we seem to prefer The Brand at MC now. Side note: We tried Smith & Wollensky's on our last visit. It's across the street kinda near Wal-Greens. It was super also. Pricey, yes, but hey, you only live once!!! I highly recommend it!! The mac & cheese is to die for! Excellent steaks!

Brand @ The Monte Carlo is not worth your time or hard earned or won money. The restaurant is based around the open air concept that overlooks the casino floor.

The restaurant and menu are modern in menu items offered and pricing. Example: Hot Rocks- super heated rocks that patrons cook thinly sliced meats. WHY anyone would want to cook over priced deli cuts and smell like a line cook is beyond me.

I admit my review is biased due to my undying love of Blackstone’s which previously occupied the space. Blackstone’s was an old school steak house and my first steak house experience in Vegas.

I visited Brand in September of 2009 and was not impressed with the standard steak house (salads, steaks, sides) fare sampled and the pricing associated with the fare.

For the money Vegas Strip steak houses are charging I want impeccable service in an atmosphere where I can share in the conversation with those seated next to me or across the table.

    Cheers,

    M.

After seeing Zarkana last week, we ate in the bar. The food was good but not great. The bartender was a blast and very knowledgable. I don't think you will have a bad experience, don't be expected to be blown away.

I'm also a fan of JG's. One of our regular dinner spots. Haven't been disappointed there yet.
