Interesting. Do you know how it works with respect to those two key words: "up to"?

Is it a Cosmo/Trop type of "lose $500 on us" thing? Or do you "pick a card" or play a slot and you might end up with $500 but the odds are you'll get a t-shirt or 241 drink coupon?

I'd love to hear more info if you - or anyone else - has some. I'm certainly not above giving Hooters some action. Especially if they're sweetening the deal to the tune of five hundy! (But I sure ain't making a special trip if I'm going to end up with $5 free play and a deck of cards.)

Right, it sounds like you may receive "up to" $500 but you will most likely receive $5 or some piddly amount.

Looking at the website, that's the way I read it. Most likely will get $5 or $10 if you're lucky. Pass.

Didn't Hooters used to have special promo machines for free play?

The amount is based on how much you play, not a loss rebate:

Thru December 31, 2013, new members signing up can receive up to $500 in free slot play. Receive $10 in free slot play for every 250 points earned up to a maximum of $500. Up to 48 hours to earn and redeeem. Visit the Owl Rewards Club for complete details.

so that's $10 in FP for every $375 coin-in. so it takes $18,750 coin-in to get the full $500. assuming a 10% hold, that $500 will cost you about $1875. not much of a deal.

Indeed. Nothing special - certainly doesn't justify a special trip. But worth your time if you'll be there (or very nearby) anyway.

It looks like it's $6/point for VP. So, if they have some really good pay tables it might make the deal more attractive. Anyone know what sort of VP they offer? (Shifter, maybe you can ask your host that hooks you up with all those wings!)

According to VPFree2, they just yanked 47.8/9/6 JoB (99.52% max) so now 8/5 Bonus (99.17% max) and 9/7 DB (99.11% max) are the best left. To actually make money off this promo is impossible. But it's an okay deal if you are trying to lower the edge they have on you. Cosmo's offer is way better though, as is Tropicana's if you are planning to return once after a month but before a year. And Palms if you have a few future trips planned. And Plaza/LVC if you are planning to play downtown for a few days. Loss rebates are much stronger promos.

he says he doesn't know anything about the VP tables, but he'll hook you up with a penthouse suite and a bucket of wings, too, if you come down there!

I did the hooters $200 free play back when they had that. It was only certain machines. I played my free play and won zero. Not exaggerating. $0.

Yup! It was, with maybe the exception of the Casino Royale free play machines, the biggest rig in promo history. I fell for it a couple years back. Sign up and get $100.00 in free play. The picture even had a new card member clutching a $100.00 bill heading towards a machine.

In real life they give you a slip of paper and you hand that off to a guy sitting next to a 1 line, 1 credit $100.00 machine. But a promo one mind you. Mixed bars was like $25.00 in free play and the top jackpot was like $1K. Neither I nor the 4 people in front of me won anything. It was 1 pull and done....
