Decided this morning to book my first ever solo trip to Vegas. Just booked flight and hotel (NYNY), arriving tonight. Not sure what to expect because I have also never stayed at NYNY although I know there is a lot of construction going on there now.

I have stayed at NYNY and liked it very well. It was easy to get around and there were lots of restaurants and bars that appealed to me. They used to have a $6 vodka and redbull special, this was two years ago, and I made great use of their generosity during the week. The special even extended to the pool.

My favorite thing about NYNY is how easy it is to navigate. I like how the casino is bordered around the perimeter by restaurants, and it's easy to get up that escalator to Coyote Ugly, etc. I've always felt like NYNY "lives" smaller than it actually is. The rooms are, in my opinion, the epitome of a four star experience. Not as luxurious or over the top as five star joints, but easily a step above the many three star offerings around town.

I think I'd lose too much money on a solo trip haha sometimes I need to be distracted from the gambling

I love to travel solo. You can do what you want, when you want. Haven't been to NYNY in a while, but I seem to remember there's a place there where you can get some delicious pizza. Have fun!

I have traveled to Las Vegas solo a couple times.
Although there are some definite benefits to being there alone, I enjoy being there with friends or even my wife more than solo.
I enjoy having some drinks at a bar with friends and laughing.
I enjoy a nice dining experience and discussing the meal with friends.
I miss all that when I am there alone.

Solo in Vegas is GREAT! I've done it a few times... fun with friends as well but I found it to be great fun!

Just watch out for being a target for the "working" girls.. they love seeing a solo guy... if she just starts chatting you up... think twice....:evillaugh

Haha, you are correct. It did not take them long to find me. In the first 5 minutes I was in casino last night, got hit on by "working" girl

Thanks for the advice everybody, working out great so far. Got upgraded to suite at check in, and did not even do the $20 trick. Room is nicer than I expected as well.

Your trip is off to a great start with your room upgrade!

Good luck at the tables, wheel, slots or whatever you enjoy!

As much as I love to have my girl around, sometimes a solo trip simply can't be beat. There is nothing better then being able to do what you want, whenever you want. However, its also dangerous as you can spend way more time at the tables then you ever anticipated.

    Enjoy yourserlf!!!

I had my 3rd solo trip in May and i love it, i missed having my wife with me, but i have developed my routine when i go solo.

NYNY is a great spot for a solo trip, walking distance to the whole south end of the strip, with the middle being a quick cab ride away.

    enjoy!
