Hey all, Not back in Vegas until May, but a friend of mine is going next week... Despite playing slots and BJ when I was in Vegas a few months back, I earned 16k tier credits in my 10 day stay (got my card on day 1, I used 4 comps from myVegas too) don't quite understand it all to be honest, but I got 16k tier credits (Sapphire), says 8.7k needed to reach Pearl... Have $7 express comp too.... Being in the UK means its not that easy to pop over to vegas for the weekend, and there is no other way for me to earn points..... Soooooooooooo, a friend of mine is going to Vegas for 10 nights holiday, not a big gambler, but he will play BJ and some slots... I'm hoping that he can pick up a few Tier points for me whilst there, but am wondering, if he hands over my card at the BJ table, and the pitboss takes it away to do whatever he does to it, does the pitboss scan the card and it shows a photo of the owner for that card ?! Hopefully not, as I am hoping my friend can give me a few points, hoping that it gives me a slight discount on rooms when we come back next year!
I'm no expert on comps at all, so somebody please correct this if any of it is wrong. Your friend could definitely use your card at slots. Even if he hits a large hand-pay, it'll be fine as they have no idea if the card in the machine belongs to the individual actually playing it. I'm not sure if table games have your picture, either from passport or drivers license. It may depend on the property even? The drawback to this is that if your friend plays significantly less than you do, it could negatively affect your daily averages, and your future comps as a result.
slots no problem. tables, could be a problem. however, if you're not a known player, it's probably not going to be an issue there either. the only issue could arise if one of his buddies comes up to talk to him and starts calling him by his real name and then the pit boss starts to wonder and you get the idea. but if that happens he can always just say he must have accidentally swapped cards with you at some point.
Did they ever take your picture when your got your players card? They didnt take mine and I have never heard or seen them take pictures of anyone else...so I HIGHLY doubt they will have a picture of you in the system tied to your card... Just play dumb if it is questioned...and if he is not a big gambler then he might not be playing large enough to even get rated...
People do it all the time. Not a problem. Scan through threads about this over the past few weeks/month as long discussion have come up before.
at tables they have a picture of your drivers licence it pulls up depending on the properties but they all have a pic of you because of that
if your friend looks younger or around 21, the pit boss might ask for his id/passport, then it'll be a problem.
It's not worth it. He'd probably only level you to Pearl and Pearl really has no perks to speak of. And, comps are tied to your average daily theoretical (ADT). The best that could happen is you level to Pearl. The worst that could happen is he'll lower your already low ADT and any chance of comps would dry up.
I don't think I really agree just because his ADT is already so low anyway since he only earned 16k TCs in his last trip over 10 days. I think at that level any extra play will help with offers.
Perhaps with offers of discounted rooms. I was thinking more along the lines of comped rooms. But, I suppose you're right.
cheers for the reply peeps were both 40 ish, so ID not an issue I did hand over my UK driving license in May just gone when i collected my MLife card, but not sure if they scanned my drivers license..... My friend defo not a big gambler, so would'nt raise any eyebrows from the pitbosses, and its just him and his GF going to Vegas..... Well, using the card on the slots will help, i guess getting any points is better than none at all! cheers
my mom plays on my card all the time and she never had a problem and i'm a male. she only plays slots though. she uses my card so i can get comps. your friend can use your card at tables too,it wont be a problem. whats the worst that can happen?? they arent going to arrest him and put him in jail. even in the rare chance they find out he just plays dumb saying maybe you accidentaly swapped cards or he didnt know he cant use your card. they will just say no you cant do that and thats it. dont worry your friend wont be calling you to bail him out of jail over this!
Even using it briefly in a slot machine will keep your account active. Thats my problem. If I am more than 12 months apart in visits (and i too am in the uk so its not unusual) my accounts reset back to zero due to inactivity-sigh!
At Wynn, my pic from my driver's license comes up on their computer when they enter my card. It sounds like this isn't the case for Milf though. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. But if it were me, I'd probably still only do it on slots.
