    Hello Everyone,

I'll be in Vegas on a solo trip Sept 20-23, and was wondering if anybody would be interested in getting together to watch college football on Saturday the 21st or NFL on the 22nd?
I am a Utah Utes fan, and they are playing BYU on the 21st.
I am also a Chicago Bears fan, and they are playing the Steelers on Sunday night (22nd).

If anybody is interested in joining me to watch college or NFL games that weekend, let me know. Right now my plan is to watch college games on Saturday at the Suncoast, and watch the Bears game Sunday night at the Plaza sports book - but I could be persuaded to watch elsewhere with good TVs.

    Let me know.

Excellent. I imagine these UTEs to whom you are referring will be watching the game somewhere on the strip?

I'm there that weekend. Sunday night football DT might work for me. I'll keep an eye on this thread!

Definitely. However, getting them together in one place at the same time would be like herding cats.

I'm in! Coming in Wed the 18th, 2 nights at FlamingO, then moving downtown on Friday for 2 nights at 4Q then 2 at the D. My first stay on center strip in many many years.

Friday evening under the canopy is going to be a mess with the Lion Fights going on, so I will be looking for something to do elsewhere during that timeframe.

I won't be firming up my plans until the casino promos come out after the 1st of the month. Then I'll have a better idea of what's going on where & when.

That being said, I'm always up for some football watching!

Great. I like the size and quantity of the TVs at the Plaza Sportsbook, even though the vibe at the Plaza in general isn't always great. Plus the bar by the book has $10 buckets of beer.
I imagine Benny's Bullpen at Binion's or something like that would be a good place to watch the game as well.

Are you a Steelers fan, Barney?

My flight doesn't get in until almost 9pm on the Friday of the Lion Fight, and I'm hoping I can bypass that craziness by staying at the California and playing VP at MSS Boar's Head Bar that night. In the past, MSS has been a nice downtown "sanctuary" when the FSE gets too rowdy to enjoy. But who am I kidding, I can often be found at the MSS Boar's Head Bar even when the FSE is docile. The Marker Pale Ale is my siren. :drunk:

Football watching will definitely be happening. If folks are interested (and it sounds like there's some genuine interest already), we can put together a plan for meeting up for the Sunday night NFL game somewhere downtown. And perhaps additional meet up times for other games if there is interest.

Sunday Night game really is sounding good, but up for any suggestions.

Yep, Steeler fan, but a HUGE WVU fan. I will be glued to the TV with the WVU/MD game Saturday morning.

What's up Jason? What are the Lion Fights? I am attending a wedding Friday evening so I don't have to worry about it, but am curious.

Someone on another thread posted a link, Barney. They are setting up by the stage between 4Q & The D, the Muay Thai fights start at 5 PM, and are being internationally televised. Admission is being charged, so it will definitely clutter up that area of the FSE and make it nearly impossible walking around there.

Pale ales, Kelli & Chris, 9/6 JOB, the Boar bar is where it's at! Like yourself, Jimbo, I end up there quite a bit.

Also Chicago Brewing has some nice brews also, I prefer the Amber.

The Sunday night game can really be watched at any bar, it's the earlier games where a sportsbook would come in handy to watch all the ones going on.

Thought I'd give the thread a bump to see if there was still interest in a meet up downtown for the Bears vs Steelers game on Sunday, Sept 22nd at 5:30pm.

If anybody has a suggestion for a viewing venue, feel free to reply here.

jimbo it looks like the Sun night game I may have to watch it at Golden Gate, as the squares promo this year says you have to be there to collect. That kinda sucks as the $.25 VP is low-pay, and the 6-deckers tend towards $10 minimums at night.

As far as college on Sat, The Syracuse website shows their game time as TBA, and there may not even be ANY TV coverage (playing Tulane). Despite drawings at the Gold Coast that night, I may decide to stay downtown all day on Sat. Plans are open at this point.

Sun daytime NFL is open - I have to move from the 4Q to the D, but other than that I will want some games to watch. Might be a good time to check out the Plaza book.

I'll PM you my mobile # before we head out, and anyone else who wants to meet up you're welcome to ask for it privately also.

    10 more sleeps!

It looks like your Syracuse/Tulane game will be a 9:30am (Vegas time) start. It's definitely not nationally televised, but you may be able to find it in a book somewhere. I'm guessing many/most books have ESPN GamePlan and will put the game on for you if you're betting it (or tell them you're betting it).

The Utah/BYU game is on at a much more reasonable hour, 7:15pm
I am thinking I will hit up Suncoast during the day on Saturday, but will likely be back downtown early evening to watch this game (not sure where).

I'll probably be out gambling somewhere on Sunday during the day while casually watching NFL games. I may check out the Vue Bar at The D on Sunday since a couple of the fine folks of this board (i.e. you and Dewey) recently informed me of the bonus poker progressives available there.

The game I will want to actually sit down and watch is the Bears/Steelers night game. If anyone is interested in getting together to watch, post here.
