Is this casino on any 24 hour bus route that takes you to the strip or do you have to rent a car or take a taxi?
I was looking at Palace Station myself, looks like it could be a headache at night, buses every hour or so, connect with Deuce route. Might be easier during the day?
Palace Station has a free shuttle service to the Strip (drops you by the Fashion Mall) - runs almost every hour until 11:00 at night. Also free shuttle service to the airport. Wile I'm not really a Stations person, I do have fond(?) memories of staying in Courtyard rooms the first couple times we visited Vegas. Many, many moons ago.....
be aware that the palace station charges almost $17 a night for their resort fee so you should take that into account when looking at booking the place. I noticed on kayak that the palace station has some of the lowest rates but when you add in the $17 a night extra there are other hotels (downtown) that are less per night.
This place is hardly a dive. It's much nicer than most casinos outside of Vegas. The only trick is to stay in the Towers. The courtyard rooms are pretty divey. And I wouldn't walk to the strip. Night or day. Definitely not at night.
To guys have played at palace station, did you get room offers there? what kind of (table or slot) play needed to get room comp at palace station ? I will stop by there next trip, thanks!
There is a bus stop in front of the casino on the street. Drops you off near the old Sahara. they also have a shuttle to airport and strip.
I Haven't ever received offers from them. And I've put good play in with them over two trips. I did get the rooms comped at checkout though.
doug2288...a few months after I did a drive-by with my family and spent a few hours playing blackjack, I was contacted by a host. I began to recieve snail mail offers and occasional invites from the host for various events. I finally took them up on an offer and spent a few nights there. My sister and husband went as well, and the host set her up at casino rate for their room, but would check at end of stay. I play a little higher stakes than my sister and brother-in-law...they played at the $5 minimum table, but for long stretches...4 -5 hours a day. At the end of their stay, all their room charges including resort fees were comped. By the way, when I stayed on the offer my resort fees were comped as well. I found the place quite comfortable to stay and play. My wife liked the Starbucks just off the resort tower elevators, and there was a myriad of dining options including the Grand Cafe (their 24 coffee shop), The Broiler (steakhouse), The Feast Buffet, Pasta Cucina (Italian), Cabo (Tex-Mex), Oyster Bar, Food Express (Chinese cuisine), and in the food court they have a Johnny Rockets, a Subway, and a pizza place. The room was older but clean. As mentioned ealier, the Tower is the way to go here. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, the comp obviously makes it a no-brainer.
I just can't fathom the rationale behind Station's (or CET's) offers. To answer your questions: I played fairly heavely for me a there a in Feb. 2010 and received subsequent poor offers. Then I was offered comped rooms at Red Rock a year later as well as Palace Station which I utilized with a fair amount of play. A short time later I used an offer for their Courtyard rooms (very old) for a short, kind of non-vacation trip where I gave them very limited play. Terrible offers ensued ~ understandable. With no more play whatsoever, I have just received 3 comped nights in their tower, weekends included.
if you walk it you HAVE to walk on the north side of the overpass no pedestrians on the south side.walked it plenty of times.Well back when there was a Saharah.
I've never stayed at Palace Station but during our last visit to eat there, the casino seemed old and depressing. Doesn't seem like they have been updating it. I rate it below Gold Coast. I would like others opinions. How do you rate Palace Station compared to other near strip casinos? TomTWI
