Are there any S17 games in Vegas that are not high limit games? Thanks.....

 

What's high limit? I've played at $25 tables at the mirage before. If your looking for a lower limit than that, I haven't seen one on the strip, but I don't get around offstrip or downtown too much

Agreed, it does depend on your definition of high limit. Most MGM properties offer it at a $25 minimum. Monte Carlo used to have it at one table with a $10 minimum, but it has been a few years since I last played there and don't know if they still have it

 

A few trips ago (in 2012), I played a 6-deck shoe at the Mirage that was s17...and it was a $15 minimum during the day, mid-week.

 

I will be at the Mirage this weekend and will let you know what I find. If I remember from my previous trip, I believe that they only had S17 at $50 minimum during the day and $100 minimum at night during the weekend (Friday - Saturday)

 

Mirage has a $25 S17 game.

MGM Grand also usually has $25 S17 games in the pit by the Pai Gow games. I've gotten lucky twice there and caught them when they had it at $15 in January, and just a couple weeks ago it was only $10 (!!!!!!).

 

As mentioned, MGM Grand is probably going to be your best bet for low minimum S17 games. $25 games can be found at several places during slow times (Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mirage, Wynn…probably several others). But I think MGM is the only place I’ve consistently seen the game dealt for less than a quarter.

The only problem with MGM Grand (well, other than slow drink service) is that their minimums vary widely. If there’s a big concert or fight, no way are you getting cheap S17 games. But when it’s slow, good low minimum games abound.

 

$25 S17 games can be found at Mirage and Bellagio during off hours.

$10 S17 game is available at MGM Grand during off hours (sometimes).

 

The S17 $25 games they used to have at Monte Carlo disappeared before Xmas I think. It certainly wasn't there when I went between Xmas and New Year. I couldn't find it during my March 2013 trip either.

I can't speak for the high limit room cause I haven't won enough of their money to ever venture in there!

If you mean "good BJ": The single deck games at El Cortez (The Killer) are about as good as any BJ in Vegas. And if memory serves, their DD game is pretty good, though not quite as good as the high dollar stuff on the strip.

I'm with thecarve on this one. I don't think there is any S17 blackjack downtown.

The best blackjack downtown is El Cortez (single deck + double deck). For 6-deck games, check out The D, Golden Nugget, and maybe Las Vegas Club (sometimes).

There is a high limit room in the D now. Perhaps that's a S17 game, but I doubt it.

Thanks Doug, I appreciate it!! I'll probably stick to regular BJ, although I can't even recall the bazillions of times I wished I could have doubled on my first three cards. Even money BJ wipes out a lot of these more advantageous rules though.
