So a few months ago I was playing craps at The Borgata in Atlantic City, and it seemed everyone could either not hit the back of the wall, or would throw them two tables down. I go back there this weekend, and no lie, this one momo hit the stickperson in the face manning the proposition bets not once, but twice! I go over to another table and this other guy would lean halfway over the table with his arm fully extended with each throw. Amateurs!!!

My husband tried craps for the first time last weekend and it seemed a lot of the players were tossing dice in crazy ways. One lady, standing at the far end, received a dice to the face and another shooter tossed the dice in such a way that it came towards me (I was standing on the side by the stickman).

Was the stickman leaning over? If so its his fault.

I hate it when the shooter consistently knocks over the place/come bets. One shooter last trip knocked the chips down 3 times in a row, much to the moan of the players and dealers.

No sooner had the dealer re-organize the countless place and come bets the shooter would knock them down. Again and again.

Very irritating. Dealer eventually forgot my place bet on 9. When I reminded him he disputed my claim. The box-lady, already pissed at the shooter, yelled at him to just replace my place bet on 9.

After all the countless re-organizing, the frickin shooter sevens out....:grrr:

Nothing more annoying than when dealers want to argue with you over your bets. I've had it happen on a few occasions and they're so adamant that they paid you or that you're incorrect. I once hit my $5 PL, the dealer starts paying the line, runs out of chips on the guy before me, reaches back to get more chips, then skips me and resumes paying out the line. I pointed it out to me and we argued for a while, and he was just being a dick (my buddy next to me is cracking up because he knows I'm right and thinks it's funny). Eventually I just let it go, but I often think back to that instance and think I should have made them go to the tape for $5. Plenty of other instances of not getting paid correctly, or not having my bets in the correct spots, etc.

Because of this, I tend to try to play at the upper tier casinos where I'm most likely to get a good competent dice crew.

On the original topic, I was once playing craps from the end of the table, and two novice craps players were at the opposite end. The first shooter was flying the dice to the back wall. So every throw looked like it was about to hit me, and about 1 out of every 3 did hit me or fly off the table. He sevens out, and his buddy gets the dice. This guy was the opposite, and would tumble the dice from his hand all the way down the table (like he was bowling with the dice). Obviously when rolling this way you have to really put some umpfff in it and since it was a pretty full table, he would inevitably take out chips left and right. I don't think I've ever seen two styles of throwing since that were so completely different and odd since then.

Always hate it when someone slices a stack of chips in half on someones bet. Sure sign that it's a seven out.

It is inevitable a throw is going to knock over dice the more the shooter continues. If he makes the point after throwing several numbers there will be come bets with odds, line bets with odds, hardways, etc. and if the table is somewhat crowded, there is not much room to both hit the back wall and miss the chips. It happens but one must throw / lob the dice without the velocity needed to topple multiple bets. It is also less problematic if the shooter continues throwing numbers other than THE number.....

Nobody will yell at you(except the crew at Casino Royale :) )

Just toss the dice and aim for the back wall. As you see in this thread if you do have a bad throw you won't be alone.

Just have fun with it-it's a great game.

That's the reason I decided craps isn't my game. I have no arm control. I hit the one lady in the head...twice. The stick-man called out "wild thrower on the table" as a warning. They tried to coach me but I'm in-coach-able. I think they let me keep throwing because I was doing OK and winning money for the High Roller type guy at the table. When my roll was finished I cashed out and left the table. I need better arm control if I'm going to try that game again. And yes, I was completely sober. I don't know if that was a help or a hindrance.

You don't have to shoot to play the game. I rarely shoot as I generally have shitty luck, plus I prefer to just bet. I get for some people, it's part of the fun, but unless the table is empty, you can't shoot all the time anyways.

It could be my imagination but it does seem that when a wild shooter steps up throwing the dice as hard as they can there is usually not a happy ending.

I know it's random and there is no control but it seems like real hard shooters seven out faster than someone who has a soft rhythmic toss.

I just had this experience at Harrahs LV. This woman had the dice, she was on the other side of the table. My friend and I were the only people on the other side so she had a lot of table to aim for without hitting anything. HOWEVER she proceeded to hit my friend once and me twice, once in the face and once in the arm. She didn't say a word, not an apology though it was obvious she had hit us.

Seriously, you expect an apology if dice bounce off the table and hit you?

I apologized, I tipped. I wasn't throwing that hard. They tended to go wild after bouncing. To be honest, I don't understand the game. I have no real desire to try again.

Who said the dice bounced off the table? They didn't and I was hit square in the face. If that happens, yes I would expect common courtesy to be an apology. I know I would have apologized if roles were reversed.

Ditto. I could see if you were being hit on the fly, and even then I wouldn't get my panties in a bunch over the lack of an apology. It's not like it was intentional or that it hurts to be hit by the dice.
