I have been hearing of people getting comped rooms at these resorts again. I pretty much quit playing there when they said no more comps. I'm wondering if anybody can tell me how much play it takes to get comped rooms (standard resort suite). I had a buddy tell me that he ran $30-$40 through VP and Slots and received a mailer for a couple comped nights. Anybody have any recent experience they can share? Thanks All!
Since I usually stay at Wynn or Encore, I often stop into V/P for a meal and a little gambling. I would guess that on a usual four night stay at Wynncore, I'll pop into V/P twice. I'll usually spend about an hour or so at the bar, playing $1 video poker. Then, I'll either play about an hour of blackjack at probably $100-200/hand OR an hour of video poker on the floor (usually 3-play $1 STP or $5 single line "normal" VP). My offers are usually for 3 nights with between $50-150 in free play. Occasionally the free rooms will only be for week nights, but they're usually any night of the week. My father stays there quite a bit and gets some pretty generous offers. I doubt his average bets are as high as mine (he'll bounce between a $10 and $200 BJ table so it's hard to figure what his average bets are). But, he mixes some slot play in and I think that's probably the reason why he gets such great offers. Edit to add: I should also mention that I've booked a few comp'd stays for friends and family the past few years (while low or no playing them). And while my offers have gone down in value a bit, it hasn't been anything terribly substantial. So I think they've completely abandoned their earlier "screw comps for the little guy" attitude.
We spent the summer zipping up to Palazzo every couple of weeks to play in a slot tournament. Each one came with three free nights in a standard suite. All this was a result of putting a few bucks through their slots in March. Maybe a hundred or so...not more than that. So the offers are out there again.
Don't be surprised if they give room comp to people have "little play" there. I was there on one weekend afternoon in Feb, the casino was almost empty while other casinos in strip were pretty busy at the same time.
Excellent! My wife really enjoys staying there, and especially likes their spa. My next trip I will focus my play there, I might even send my card and a little bit of cash with my buddy to see if that gets things going.
I have not put a dollar in their slots. I have played several sessions of bj there at roughly 25 to 100 a hand. I have been getting a lot of offers of late for sure. Heck even a buddy of mine that plays table min. 10-15 a hand is getting hit with room offers. Jay
I play slots and earn about 10,000-14,000 pts/day. I am not sure how much coin-in that is, but it has to be a decent amount. We have stayed at Venetian 3x for a total of 9 days of play at this rate (Nov 2012, March/July 2013) In return, my offers are a standard room Sun-Thurs for 3 comped nights with $0 FP or RC. I get offers for weekends, but they are sporadic and usually only 30 days advance notice. These offers usually include a slot tourney.
Played craps at $90 a roll for about 3 hours in April. Have been getting constant offers for three nights/$75 match play and the occasional show. I hope to take advantage of the offer next year.
This sounds about right and matches up with my experience over the past couple years. They definitely are back to comping small-mid rollers, but: Usually the offers are good for Sun - Thurs only, with some freeplay and/or food credit (mine are for $100 freeplay and $50 food credit). Many blackout dates apply when their inventory is lower - you won't know which dates until you call to make a reservation and get told that one or more of your dates are unavailable. You can usually tell blackout dates by going to their website, clicking on one of the publicly available offers, and seeing which days on their calendar are considered "Value Days" - non-Value Days will generally be unavailable under the Grazie offers, which can make it hard to put a string of dates together. Like all casinos, they will send a teaser offer after an initial visit. This doesn't mean you will continue to get the same level of offers if you take a comp and then run $100 through a VP machine. V/P does have a layer of marketing representatives - if you get an email from one of them, save it for future reference. I had a conversation with one prior to my July trip, and he told me he could work around the Sun - Thurs restriction as well as the blackout dates, while the regular phone reps can't.
I have been getting and taking advantage of steady offers from them for well over a year now. For reference, I probably earn @25,000 points on a 2/3 night stay. This week I went to book an offer but one of my 2 nights was a Friday of a very busy weekend. For the first time, I heard the term 'value days" and she couldn't book me for the Friday night. So I fired an email off to the marketing rep that had contacted me previously (I used him for my last trip and was underwhelmed so was just going to use the regular Grazie reservation folks this time) and he called me back and hooked me up with no problem within 45 minutes of me sending the email. Overall, I have been very pleased with V/P and I hope their generosity continues!
Since V/P Grazie Status points are now theo-based, 25,000 points over 2/3 nights is healthy and you should be getting treated pretty well.
I just received a mailer today for 3 comped nights at V/P, good Sunday through Thurs. The offer includes $100 freeplay and expires Sept. 9. It is for their Carnivale thing, but not sure if it includes anything for that. Last time I played table games there was in 2011. Lost $1000 in less than 15 minutes playing UTH...lost every hand straight. I may have slipped a couple of bills ibto a slot machine earlier this year during SHOT Show, but not sure. Bottomline, I think they are giving comps to us previous visitors too to try to lure us back.
I was getting offers from V/P late last year and earlierer this year after about 4 hours of probably $25-30 average BJ & Craps in November. I took advantage of a three night comp in February this year, but the offers have since stopped, just the typical $129/night offers now. I think I was rated higher originally because I was playing a lot of craps with pass/come bets at full odds and I believe that V/P was giving credit for odds bets at that time. I plan to give them some play when I am in town this weekend and will see what kind of offers they send.
