Just wanted to let all you sigma derby fans out there that there is the horse racing machine upstairs. Nth e only other one is at the MGM. It's fun to play as it is pure entertainment. Sometimes the 200 will come in so if you have a quarter on that exacta combo, you will get 200 quarters. Get a bucket for your winnings!
It's a fun game to play especially if you are sick of losing, but ingest carried away and go through a roll of quarters pretty quick. The change cage is right there to get your rolls of quarters.

Yeah I watched some family play at MGM for hours on $10. It's definitely fun if you can hit the long shot.

I've read reviews and that steak house is probably better than Vic and Anthony's. I've been wanting to try it!

I think I saw a 30-1 hit at the D, maybe not even - it was probably a 16-1, who can recall such things but I have definitely never seen the 200-1 or (if there is a higher one?) hit..

One should only expect the 200-1 shot to come once in every 250 races on average at the D. At 90 seconds per race, that would be once every 6.25 hours or so on average.

It definitely didnt happen when I was there because I was betting it all the time lol. My girlfriend on the other hand was winning every race with her 2-1 and 3-1 picks...

I thought that the SD machine has been there for awhile. guess the word hasn't gotten out much, but I remember others posting about it even after the redo from fitz to D.

In Dec I was in Tahoe and played at the Montbleu. Played for hours and the free drinks were non-stop.

My friends found this machine upstairs last time and spent HOURS having a riot with it. We're all going back together in a few weeks and it's definitely part of our plan. I'd never heard of it prior to the finding it. Good to see/hear other fans of it.

My wife and I were in Vegas from 7/20-7/28, stayed at the MGM and Golden Nugget.
She is not a huge gambler by any means but i coaxed her into playing sigma derby at the D. 1 hour in and she was hooked.......I think we played on $20 for about 2+ hours. She hit a 52-1 race and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Fun spot to chill out and just have some fun. Also note the drink service was fantastic, we never went more then 10 minutes without the CW coming by.

I know the machine has been there for at least a year because we played it last summer. We played it again a couple of weeks ago. It is fun to talk to everyone playing. We played on $20 for a long time. I must agree that the cocktail service was very good. The second floor isn't very big and you are sitting right next to the bar, so the waitresses come by a lot.

We first played this game many, many years ago at the Imperial Palace. We sat there for a long time that night. We had so much fun with everyone. That game was hitting a lot of long shots that night and we walked away up $200 between the two of us. Fun :)

Sounds like this machine will always be busy. Still sounds awesome and will be put on the things to do list for my next trip! Just hope me or the wife can get a seat at it.

was at the D late last February. Was there with my 2 boys and wanted to show them the game. I have never played it much in the past so don't know how rare this is, but on back to back races, the winning odds were 52-1 and 54-1, Of course nobody was playing it either game. I wonder how the winner is determined by the machine, and also wonder if the same winners would have come up if there had had been money played on them, especially if it had been bet for more than a dollar or two.

I would tend to believe this game would be considered an "electronic gaming machine" or "slot machine" so its result is determined by a random number generator with the appropriate weighted odds. The fact you saw two fairly large longshots win back-to-back while it was unoccupied should mean nothing, otherwise I would personally think the game is illegal based on current Nevada law.

The Derby machine was there last October when I was there and it was completely empty.

Andiamo's is a small chain from Detroit with several different types of setups throughout SE Michigan, from steakhouse to pasta centric places. They severe good food, decent prices, and are usually reliable to deliver the same service and quality day in day out. We usually frequent one of their restaurants from time to time, but I would not consider them a high end steak house by any stretch of the imagination, especially in Vegas. But, I would recommend them.

The Coney Island restaurant is also family run business with long roots in Detroit. Good late night hot dogs/fries to soak up the alcohol.
