I will be at Bally's mid week. What can I expect at pool. What are dress requirements, and what is provided to guests. I have never been to a vegas pool, want to relax and posibly get off tables for a while. I am not looking for hook ups just sun and rest from casinos. I am out for birthday # 61 w/o my wife who will be home working.
Was there 3 weeks ago and can honestly say Ballys pool is nothing special. The gawkers in the monorail are going by there every few minutes (we had some young college "babes" nearby). The only thing I remember that was a negative, is the long distance from the elevators the pool was located. We made several trips to and from our room that seemed an eternity, otherwise the pool exprience was uneventful. Didn't notice any dress codes, and they just provided a towel at the entrance. Good luck with your solo trip.
Large pool that has a deep end. Palm trees around pool provide shade. Usually plenty of lounge chairs available and towels given out at entry. Good drink service and sandwiches available. Sometimes have a DJ who is usually pretty good about understanding the demographics of those at the pool (read as an older group that does not want music so loud you cannot have a conversation or take a nap). We stay there often and enjoy relaxing by the pool in the afternoon.
Agree the pool at Ballys is nice. Even with my three boys all in their early 20s, they enjoyed the peace of the pool. Only time of craziness was when I tried throwing my oldest son into the deep end of the pool. Doesn't help when he's 6'3 and 200lbs of muscle. His old man 5'10 and refuses to state. We got yelled at, my fault. But in the end I got him. We also managed to bring in our own drinks in a small water bootle. They tend to be a little lax in checking your bag when it's filled with suntan lotion and other items for pool use. Also help when it hit 113 degrees, with groups coming in and out from the pool area.
Honeymoon in Vegas Bally's style......i'll be in Vegas in a few hours myself (Caesars). I'll be at Bally's in November, but the Bally's pool area is nice and quiet with an occasional hiccup. You'll enjoy it.
Pool If you get a room in the North tower it isn't that far to the pool. We like Bally's pool. Easy to find a chair and you can bring your beverages in without a hassle.
That's true! For tower and bringing in your own drinks. Only had to show your room key to get in to the pool area. Just get there before 4, cause the entire area is in the shadow of the tower and it really cools down.
Sounds like the perfect pool for what you are looking for. That or Harrah's pool would fit the description.
You know when you see those old pool pics of Vegas? This is about as close as you're going to get (at least that's how I felt when I visited). It's a decent walk through a retail area as I remember. As mentioned, the sun goes away there in the mid afternoon. One of the best naps I ever had was taken there. Very boring pool, but it sounds like that's what you're looking for.
I love Ballys pool and often rent a cabana for the day. Most of the time it's pretty laid back but there have been several weekend when I've been there its pretty rowdy. But I think that was when they did a groupon or similar special that included admittance and drinks. If you are looking for a party pool, this is not the pool to go to. For a laid back, relaxing time, this is it. All people, of all ages and sizes. You can always find chairs. They have towels when you first walk in and there is a sundry store right outside the entrance. But the prices on sun lotion is crazy high, so if you can bring in your own I highly recommend it. It is definitely a walk to get there. At least the North elevators go down to the bottom pool level so you don't have to walk thru the casino. Can't say the same for the South Towers.
It's very relaxed. You could order drinks by the pool side but they will run you $23 per drink, so bring your own. We usually use our morning coffee cups with lids and refill them with a nice strong cocktail and they never question it. Usually quiet. This was last Weds about noon.
I enjoy Bally's pool. You don't have to fight to find a seat. They are not over crowded. They have the deepest end for a pool on the strip. Servers are right there BUT not over bearing. Music is not too loud...and up to date. Altho...it is a very long walk from the south tower.I really love coming to Bally's pool after spending a few days at Flamingo pool just for the quiet and relaxation.
The top reason why we stay at Ballys, including the 9 day vacation this past May. We spent most of the day from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the pool. Yes it is a walk from the main hotel/casino area but so is every other pool in Las Vegas. What you will find is a laid back often quiet atmosphere with plenty of seating options, good drink service and no craziness. Someone mentioned music and demographics, yes they have toned down what was once a loud DJ throughout the weekend, Ballys realized they were not dealing with a majority 30 and under crowd. In my opinion the location is great, if you want to take a break the sports book and food court is right there and if you want cross Flamingo to the Stage Door Bar is a trip and fall away. P
