Enjot the cheap rates while you can.

After the Linq is complete and Quad renovations are complete you know CET will up the rates.

Lucy, IMHO, as long as the guest is fully aware what they are getting into (possibility of room being substandard, problems in hotel, substandard service or maid service, etc.) then they can decide for themselves whether they want to stay at the Quad. Great that you didn't have any problems and enjoyed your stay. Hard to beat the low prices on the strip. Usually you get what you pay for but a few people find the Quad to be a hidden gem on the strip. Let the complainers go elsewhere, not everyone will want to stay at the Quad but it's great that us low rollers (okay, us tightwads, joking) have a place on the strip to stay at. May not be the case once the hotel (rooms, ferris wheel, etc.) upgrades are completed but at least we have this option now.

Thanks smartone for showing restraint. yes there is so much that one can complain and bash about at the quad but I hope that everyone reads the positives and negatives and makes their own decision whether to stay at the quad or not, eyes wide open. One person's "dump" is another person's "castle" (well maybe not to that level, ha ha....kidding). People who don't like the quad or are aghast at the quad can stay elsewhere.

Many do not know about the shorter lines for card holders. I stayed at the Quad in March and encountered the same long lines. The problem is that by the time everyone caught wind of the other line, the line to get a card started to get long and then that check in line also got longer. After I got checked in I commented to others in line but some were skeptical, others had someone hold their place went to get their cards and checked in the shorter line. I guess that long lines are still a problem at the Quad.

Did the Flamingo do away with that line altogether? Or did they restrict it to members above gold? I'll be there in 5 days. The regular checkin can be a zoo there, but the TR line has always saved me alot of time. Does a regular gold member have any options now?

When I was there in January the separate line was Platinum and above.

The quad had renewed its image
The casino is more clean and updated and they even have beveragemanagers now with ipads in the evenings
    staff is friendly
I stayed at the ip my first 13 visits
but im too spoiled now( diamond card) and thats why i stayed at ceasars and paris(both great)
i also didnt like the elevators at ip
But if ur not diamond and ur frugal and want to stay at cheap hotel than why not the quad? great location and rooms are clean
So i can certainly recommend the quad

The Quad has potential if they remodel rooms and install, at minimum, a thermostat in each room to allow guests to control the temperature. My lone stay at IP was in a room with two AC/Heat Options - On or off. It was in late February, and you had the option to freeze or create a steam room.

Thermostats were invented in 1883. It is time for The Quad to embrace the best the 19th century had to offer.

When was the last time you stayed there? All 3 times I stayed there (Jun 12-May 13), the heat/air unit had a thermostat knob on it. It didn't have Fahrenheit numbers or anything, but it was a thermostat nevertheless.

The wife and I have stayed at the "Imperial Dump" as I refer to it, at least 5-6 times, we always arrive early, like 10am early to check in, lines are minimum, never waited more than 10 min.

The rooms suck the elevators suck etc, but we use the room to sleep in and that's about it.

Going in 2 weeks, how bad is the construction there?

I can be super frugal at times

I like saving money on the resort fees. The Quad has the lowest fees on the strip.
My room was spacious and clean when I stayed there a few months ago.
It had a nice new bed and a new t.v. I enjoyed staying there.

I prefer staying at the Flamingo because I like to visit the Habitat everyday.
But the resort fees are double than the Quad Hotel.

I am still not sure I would try the rooms again, but the casino looks nice. I cant wait to see the finished product. My husband says he misses the old IP look though because he feels the older casinos were a lot more fun.

We have always enjoyed the cocktail service at IP and their great service seems to have continued because they kept us supplied with drinks this last week. The IPad service seemed like it sped things up, but they would holler at you (or at least one lady would) if you moved machines. She would tell you the server won't be able to find you if you move.

When I was there in May, I didn't think it was bad. Linq construction did divert strip traffic through the Quad, so walking through the casino was a bit crowded at times. We also requested a room away from all noise as possible. Request was fulfilled and we didn't hear a peep.

Yeah, your drink will be associated with your machine number. Now if your cocktail waitress remembers you, you may not lose the drink, but if you move real far away, it's definitely a risk.

Stayed at the IP 3 times, each time during CES and it was fine. It's no Bellagio, but still a decent hotel. The common area were dirty but the room was fine.

Stay in the back section facing the pool and use the elevators all the way at the back near the parking as they are never busy.

Haven't stepped in since renovations, but plan to check it out in 1 month :D although I will be staying a the Mirage. The Quad pool is really ugly! So would never stay a that hotel in the warm months.

Going back to CES this January but chose Harrah's instead since the difference was not significant.

Does anyone know if they still use those ugly plastic chips at the tables at Quad?

I stayed at Flamingo in June and was able to use the TR check in...I'm only a gold member. Took me all of 10 minutes to check in when I got there.

We've stayed at the Flamingo twice recently. Alas, the Gold Card line appears to be history. :(

No resort fee, often the lowest price on the Strip (sometimes lowest in the city), and if you pre-pay the room online they don't even require a deposit or credit card imprint.

I agree that the rooms are spacious & clean, and the hotel location is superior. I've found The Quad to be an entirely satisfactory hotel when I visit the Strip.

When you check in, ask for a room "away from Carnival Court". That should get you away from the noise and music.
