Mgm grand drinks while gambling

Hi all

Off to the mgm in 3 weeks, are the drinks still free if your gambling on the slots?

Obviously I mean apart from the tips.

This is standard for all Nevada casinos. One notable exception is that drinks are not comped at Wynn for playing VP at the bar.

 

Yes and even better drinks in the high limit area!

 

Of course, but keep in mind it takes forever to get a drink.. certainly throwing a lot in the machines so it's actually not free, but extremely expensive haha.

We were there a week ago, played for over 45 min without seeing a cocktail waitress. I got up and looked high and low for one but nada. I find my GF and tell her it's time to go when one magically appears we order drinks and keep playing...........

almost 30 min later and no drinks, I tell my GF again lets go, and bam there is the waitress......

She says "Oh I think I gave one of your drinks to someone else, I guess ya'll can share this one"

I told her she should take the single drink and give it to whoever got the other one, we cashed out and left.

I really doubt the MGM is ever gonna see another cent from us.

 

If you notice, the cocktail waitresses are on the move all the time except when they waiting ti get their tray filled.

Follow where they are going to. They have a route or area that they have to cover so be sure that you are in that area.

They wont come to a dead part of the casino that is not their area so if you want free booze then try to sit where they are serving others.

Especially in todays economy there are fewer of them covering larger areas so you have to do something to make yourself remembered.

Just imagine if you were doing that job, what would you remember about a guest? would you remember a $1 tip among a sea of $1 tips? would you remember someone whining that you tookl too long?

Would you remember some eye contact, a kind word and someone who seemed to actually appreciate how hard you are working?

We were at Paris a few weeks ago and had a great time playing slots after seeing the Jersey Boys show.
A friendly CW came by and asked what we'd like to drink.
Told her "rum and coke" and she said..."No. You want Bacardi. None of this well-drink crap."
Her humor alone won us over.
She was great. Took good care of us while we played Willy Wonka slots and we had a ball for a couple of hours.
We even came out ahead even though we were there mainly to see the show.

We stayed at the MGM two weeks ago. If you just wait for CW and tip $1 per drink then service can take a long time. But that was the case in most other casinos that we visited too.

What I did then was to give the CW $5 when placing the first order and told her to keep the same drinks coming. Then tipped her $1 each (wife and I) every time she came by and $5 every now and then. She delivered drinks faster than we could drink, at one point even had 3 glasses stacked up. Good times

 

In the Margaritaville Casino, which is small compared to the main Flamingo Casino, there are an abundance of ladies to fulfill your dreams......er....i mean your drinking desires. I'm a pushover for babes in bikinis, and they treat me well because i reward them with my good looks, my play, and my wallet.
I don't drink alcohol, just Sprite, and since Sprite is made with corn syrup i always get some with sugar cane instead.
Sometimes it's hard to find a waitress in your area when playing slots and want to drink booze on the Strip, and there are many reasons why, but i suggest playing near the CW station, see where they go, and if need be put your money/voucher in an area where you see them, and then once you get your drink, go play the machines you want to be at. With the vouchers, you can go anywhere in a casino for a drink.......then revert back to your favorite machine to play.

 

One suggestion I make is: if you are just drinking a basic beer (IE: Budweiser, Coors, MGD) and you can't wait for the waitress just go to the gift shop and buy one.

Yes, it will be more expensive than the price you'd pay at a liquor store or even a gas station off strip, but consider: one of the big cans usually costs $3.50-4.00 and holds the equivalent of 2 bottles of beer.

If you tip the waitress $1 each time she brings you a beer the cost of two bottles in the casino is $2.00. So its only an extra $1.50 to $2.00 more to buy at the casino gift shop and you have the convenience of having your next two drinks right away. And if you tip $2 a drink or more then you'd pretty much end up saving money just going to the gift shop.

 

When I was at Margaritaville with my brother last year, he bought a Landshark which they have the balls to list as an import beer(brewed in Jacksonville) and charge him $7.50. Efff that....bought a tall boy at the connected gift shop for $3.25.

 

Yeah, and when you do, in most places, she's blasting by at 40mph and doesn't even look at you. Ugh.

Feedback about the CW is as sporadic as wining in Vegas and can be both extremes.

There are times when I thought maybe I needed to shower as none would come near me.
Other times there are so many its like swatting at flies.

Who knows you could have hit the place when one CW called in sick that day which is why no one was available.

Or there is a section tipping well and the CW continues to work that area.

If you expect to be playing in a certain area for a while you may want to even chase down a CW, tip $5-$10 and tell her where you will be playing and to keep you wet. Of course continue to tip $1-$2 as the drinks come in.
