Of course we are staying there on the 28th through Aug 1st. Do you know if this has been cleaned up yet? Also, if not, is there a way we can get out of reservation?

Glad it is open. I usually stay there, but decided on Harrah's this time. I know I will miss Flamingo and have to go drink it up there one night.

Anyone have a ballpark on when everything will be back to normal? Wondering if I should change reservations for early August.

What about Margaritaville? Has this been affected. Love the place and libations and will be stopping in August 11 if open and no odor

I never knew that about the septic tanks. Learn something new every day.

Sounds more like plain old cesspools than septic tanks. :)

Probably used the wrong term since septic tanks eventually drain into a bed and are absorbed into nearby ground. Desert ground does very little absorption. Hard as a rock!

Most likely they're holding tanks that need to be pumped on a regular basis.

I can't imagine open cesspools on resort properties.

Just got back- Margaritaville still chugging along, although they've built some hoarding around the entrance from the casino. The worst thing was trying to find a washroom after all those drinks. The food court and the washrooms across from them are closed, so I was walking way out to the buffet to hit the head.

Still my favourite, but when you add up the shuttle drop off, and the plumbing problems, and the slightly worn environment as a whole, maybe it is better to try another property, if you have thin skin.

There are restrooms toward the south side of the main Margaritaville restaurant floor.

    Just back as well...

The lack of restrooms on the main floor was the biggest inconvenience. You either had to walk to Margaritaville (as dmr pointed out) or all the way down to the ones by the buffet/Tropical Breeze Cafe. Both were a haul, especially when you've been sitting at the tables for a while holding it. There were also signs directing you to restrooms downstairs (as you exit toward the taxi line) but I never ventured down there. Depending on what area of the hotel you are staying in, it may be quicker just to run back to your room. When I was at Sin City, it was quicker to run up to the room (Spa Elevators); when I the casino floor, Margaritaville was the quickest option.

Nothing will prevent me from Margaritaville in two weeks...........floods, wind, plumbing, losing, mother nature, the Curse of the Pharoah, whatever,...............the babes in the bikinis will far outweigh whatever gets in my way.

I just back from a week long stay. Last Monday they shut down the X-Bar, high limit room and the lobby bathrooms along with the north tower. The food court was already shut down. By Saturday they had the lobby bathrooms, high limit room and the X-Bar were open. The food court was still closed Sunday.
The work crew was working on a 24 hour shift fixing the problem and did get it done for the most part.

Monday through Friday was a pain for gambling if you enjoy a few adult beverages. The only two bathrooms open were down by Hamada or well past the buffet. I either played in Margaritaville, Cosmo and made a couple of trips to MGM. The Flamingo/Margaritaville got three zero play days from me. I have liked staying there in the past and this was a guys trip so the pool was important. I understand that the building is old and problems like this happen but the rest of the joint is really looking rough.

My friends were there this weekend, said there was no plumbing issues, and didn't notice anything weird, didn't say it smelled or anything. He said the elevators went down and the power for a minute during the storm. I had warned him about the plumbing but he said it appeared to be fine.

Good to hear! Thanks for the update.
I'll be staying there in late August and this thread had me worried.
I would have hated my first Flamingo stay to be my worst experience in Vegas.
Originally booked Octavia rooms in Caesars, but switched to Flamingo Go with Strip View to try out that Flamingo Pool and previous to the flooding, I was already questioning my decision.

Just had a friend who was there and took this video of a Flamingo employee working to fix the problem.
