What side bet on any game would you like to invent? I'm not asking in terms of what payouts and actual EV you'd want, even though that's ultimately what matters. But just for fun, what are some things you feel happen to you with incredible frequency that should be statistical anomalies?

I can think of two in blackjack. A side bet that I'd get an Ace after doubling my 11 and a side bet that I'd get a 10 after hitting my 12.

I say I want a side bet for these things in jest of course since in reality the payouts would suck. But while I'm playing these things seem to happen to me way more than they should and I always joke about wishing I could make a side bet on it.

What would you like to see?

I know this isn't a side bet on an existing game but still kind of along those lines; I'd love to be able to make a bet that somebody from the Encore Beach Club is going to :vomit: in the pool, on the pool deck or on the casino floor on any given day.

You could have 3 different bets for the pool, pool deck and casino and even bet the trifecta:beer:

The odds offered (if any) would be terrible though....:evillaugh

Now I'm sure Steve would like to offer taking the dark side (that somebody actually "won't" throw up that day):poke:

How about Insurance at blackjack on any hand? (Does the dealer have a 10 in the hole.) Counting and hole-carding you could get rich quick, depending on how long you could get away with it.

    Me too!

    I'd also add 3 more;

The dealer has 1 more than my hand on 17-20

    Dealer matches my 21

The young looking, drunk, non BS player who takes 10 minutes to buy in and get carded for a single hand at a $25 min using crumpled $5s, $1s and pocket lint will win after hitting 16 against a dealer 6!

Of course, there probably isn't enough room on the felt for that last one. Maybe it could be shortened to "Sour Grapes".

I would like to see Insurance at the craps table.

How many times have you seen the point set and there is a minute or two break as everyone puts down odds, make place bets, do hard-ways, bets the field and the next roll after setting the point is a 7.

The insurance would something for getting a 7 on the first or second roll after setting the point doesn't count.:beer:

I wish I could bet that I would never win anything from free play. Sometimes I don't even hit a single pay in 20 spins.

    Side Bet

In Pai Gow Poker, you can make a bonus bet...which pays for a Straight or higher...Bill's casino, before it shut down, also had a side bet for a pai gow hand... you would win on your pai gow bonus bet if you had a King high hand or Worse...I have not seen any other Strip casino offer this type of side bet...

I would like to see a blackjack side bet for when you are dealt a suited blackjack. That would be different.

A side bet in 3 card poker that my 3 cards total 21. I regularly get that (rarely 6-7-8 or 7-7-7!)

I've got one I'd like at the poker table:

That the idiot who I've been waiting all day to get a premium hand against will (when I finally get a premium hand AND make my draw) beat me by making some crazy draw with a non-suited, non-connected 2-7 starting hand.

    THIS ONE!!!

I swear...I end up calling out "21" to the dealer, regarding my hand, so often, I've forgotten how many times.

If such a bet paid off with decent odds, I'd bet it every time.

In a way, there is. It's called the come bet (at least for the first roll after the point is set).

I would love to see the Bad Beat Bonus bet in Four Card Poker in a casino like Shufflemaster has on their site. http://www.playshfl.com/#fcp
It can be beat for big money.

You would have to make a HUGE come bet in order to off-set the total amount of place bets and odds.

They have this at Pechanga Casino, something like Ace High to 10high with 10high paying the highest odds OBV, I get so pissed when I get pair of 10's no hair as I would win more on the side bet and your going to always lose or push the actually hand, they call it pai gow insurance if I can remember correctly
