Just read about the storm that hit LV last night....sounds like they had hurricane force winds of 70 mph for a bit. The article made it sound like they had flooding on the casino floor in Caesar's and some of the casino were w/o power for about 1/2 and hour.

That happened to us once at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. The generators kicked right on and all the machines had to re-boot but they retained the credits you had in at the time.

    Crazy.

News 3 has video (didn't work for me at first in Chrome, used firefox, but now it shows in chrome) here: mynews3.com storm link

I wasn't there in person, but it seems like that's a good thing.

Some of the video highlights are the water gushing into the TI bar/nightclub (and the accompanying scantily-clad club girls), and a shot of lightning hitting NY NY's Empire State Building dead on.

    Hi

I wasn't outside but saw three poor girls come back to bellagio all dressed up for the evening soaking wet. The tram between bellagio and city center was closed due to winds and i could see a lot of emergency vehicle activity from my room but I think I missed seeing the worst of the storm.

Yeah, it was crazy. From my room, I saw lightning and heavy rain. My friends who were on the strip said it was flooded on the strip. A couple of the casinos had water go inside, and their carpets were wet.

I was inside Mandalay Bay Event Center for Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20 at the time it hit. What was trippy was the emergency weather alert that everyone got on their smart phones at once.

It was in between sets, so everyone was on their phones anyway and the alert would pop up. It seemed like 10,000 people started talking about it at once and wondering what was happening and how bad it was. Rob Thomas got on stage and referred to it as a "Monsoon"

Once I got outside around Midnight, it wasn't bad at all. Some puddles of water here and there but everything was totally calm and everyone acting like a usual Friday in Vegas.

I had been in Vegas since Sunday and left to drive back to L.A. yesterday (Friday) at 4 PM. I heard reports about the storm on the radio including one saying Harrah's garage was flooded as were many streets in Vegas. I was thinking I was lucky getting away just in time to miss it. I've experienced it several times in Vegas. A short sudden storm results in instant flooding because of very poor drainage.

I'm at Mandalay Bay and as I was playing Buffalo, these flashing lights went off, and I thought Ooooh, somebody had a BIIIIG win! But no, it was an announcement saying that there was a problem that would be resolved soon. The problem was the AC went out and boy, you could tell. Glad everybody got a little taste of menopause! ;)

We're on 28th floor and I heard and saw nothing after I went to bed.

Las Vegas visitors need to get to to "Cactus Cave" immediately. The curse of the Pharoah is upon us once again. Our only hope is the moving walkways at Bally's to get us out alive.

Whoa! That video of The Quad was crazy. Big storm hit the area, and on a weekend to boot.

Figures, I'm going to Las Vegas in less than two weeks.

Hope this doesn't impact my trip too much.

Oh, they are going to have that cleaned up so fast it'll make your head spin. You'll probably see some residual re-carpeting of certain areas, and ceiling work in the more heavily damaged areas, but don't forget, these are the big boys; they know damaged areas=lower visitor traffic=revenue loss so they'll get straightened out rather quickly. If I were visiting in 2 weeks, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'll be there in a few hours. Can't wait to see what they've done so far.

That Caesar's video was incredible!
