Has House a Go Go. But I am also a big fan of the Orleans coffee shop and the Gold Coast as well. Is downtown a consideration????

Coronado Cafe at South Point. I go there after clubs to rehydrate with massive amounts of iced tea, but for some reason I always end up eating.

I know it is a chain but I love Black Bear Diner for breakfast. It did not hurt that an Elivs impersonator was having breakfast in the booth next to us. Not in full-gear but he did have on the glasses. Waitress knew him by first name, no, not Big E.

    Jamms.

We had such a good breakfast there. It was one of the highlights of our February trip. At the same time - we were in the neighborhood doing other things and we had a rental car. I doubt I would drive that far out just for eggs or pancakes. No matter how good they are. :peace:

(I have eaten at Blueberry Hill and Eggs & I and those were both fine - but Jamms was better for the meals that I had on those days. That same Feb trip we ate at HHAGG at Imperial Palace/Quad and were not at all impressed with the food)

Do Orleans and Gold Coast still have true coffee shops? I thought all Boyd's/Coast places outsourced to TGI Friday.

Black Bear is a staple across many parts of the far west. I guess it's a chain by virtue of number of outlets, but then again Michael Mina has a bunch of steak and fish joints so is he a hawker of chainery? Black Bear has fueled up many a road trip for us yet ironically we've never been to the one in Vegas.

What makes a "chain" to me (vs an empire?:evillaugh) is whether or not the menu is the same or mostly the same at each place, presuming standardized recipes.

Then Mina is a chainmaster. Puck, too. Flay.

But rather than take this even more afield on the OP, I'll start that thread I've been meaning to start.

Late night food fix is ping pang pong @ Gold Coast, great Chinese food to sit in or to go, open till 3 am, always busy, but not had to wait any more than 15-20 mins for food, it is all cooked fresh though.

Ellis Island is my go to place for late night or for breakfast. I've never had a bad meal or had bad service there. And it's just the distance of a couple blocks off the Strip.

when I visited a couple weeks back I had a car this trip so I tried the breakfast special at silver sevens (terrible`s) and enjoyed it so went back a second time.

$2.99 for 2 eggs bacon and pancakes or for a buck more you can have hashbrowns and toast instead of pancakes. the hashbrowns were really tasty also.

The GC does not have a café/coffee house and didn't see one while at the Orleans.

Orleans does have a coffee shop and it is excellent. They have some great early morning specials Monday thru Friday. I have never had a bad meal at the Courtyard Café.
