    My Trip Report

So, I live in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. My buddy who is accompanying me on this adventure lives in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, on the northwest shore of Hudson Bay, where I lived until October of last year. Well, he was supposed to fly here to Yellowknife this afternoon. Unfortunately one of the Canadian North 737s blew an engine just after take off in Rankin and had to circle and dump fuel and then land with one engine in 70km/h wind. Lovely. He's switched to a later flight on another airline luckily, as the north is not served as regularly as more southern cities. If all goes according to plan we'll be on a Westjet flight out of here in Yellowknife at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon connecting in Edmonton to a direct flight to Vegas!

Our first trip together was for his wedding over 7 years ago. I'll refer to my friend as Q as this report progresses. This is our first 'guys trip' to Sin City and we've been POWs for this for a few weeks now. Got a nice room comped at Bellagio this time around after an excellent stay at Mandalay Bay for New Years. Gambling and drinking are the orders of the day for this trip. We're looking forward to not having to worry about entertaining the women folk for a change and the freedom to do whatever we want! I'll attempt to report this trip as 'live' as possible. You'll hear From me tomorrow as we fly out of our country's far north to our Presidential Limo in Las Vegas!

My iPhone has me saying the filthiest things when I type something benign but changed so f$@king to sofa king. Hey iPhone that will never be what I meant to say. Enjoy your trip; looking forward to live updates while I swelter in Southwestern Ontario.

Have a great time! Can't wait to read the report :)

....aaaaannd since you are staying at Bellagio, if you happen to be in/near the poker room can you see if they are still running a stud game on the weekends, either 20/40 or 30/60? They used to post it on their twitter feed but now I see nothing! No biggie, just planning how to blow my money in a few weeks

I can feel your excitement through the computer. I've been to Vegas once when I was younger, and my girlfriend has never been. We are booked Aug. 5-8th, can't wait! Good luck to your trip and let us know everything.

Well, we're off to a flying start. We gambled until 8am. I was playing craps and Q was playing Ultimate Hold Em then BJ. And we're both up! I took the table for a grand and Q is staring at two $1000 chips as I type. Drink service was fantastic. Double Goose and water with lime all night! Got up too early (wonder why I can't sleep?) and went to Noodles for dim sum. Awesome as usual! I love this casino! We're going to go gamble our faces off again now. Craps is calling!! Got rated at $100/hand last night and I figure the generous tips might have helped get that number where it was as I had myself around $70/hand. I'll take it though!!

Slotted around for a few hours yesterday morning and took Ghostbusters for $1000. This game loves me every time. Then we hit the north Outlets for some shopping and got some good deals. Played craps for a bit before getting ready for dinner at Prime. Foie gras to start and a dry aged ribeye. Food was good but nothing incredible. I guess I'm still spoiled from a trip to Paris, France in April. L'Atelier and Le Chateaubriand may have ruined me. Logged over 7 hours at the craps table after dinner. The play was up and down and I ended up a few hundred, but a great night overall as I finally got Q to give it a try. He lost but I think he's hooked. Then, around 6 am and incredibly drunk he decides to play 3 card poker. And, for the second time this trip he heads to his room with a wax of cash, up $3700 in an hour. Unbelievably lucky that guy is! Could be some big thunderstorms again today so I hope everything is ok. Heading to MJ One tonight and we're both really looking forward to it.

7 hours of Craps for one sitting or overall?

I love craps but not sure I can do a 7 hour shift.
