No matter how they get to 150,000.....they put LOTS of money at risk. The casino is giving them a relatively small perk to keep them coming back.

They would have to crazy to not give them 7-stars.

this is not true, the only people who did not get seven stars or noir when they reached the points were people who had a bad history like others said or if they were true advantage players. the mgm change to invite only is new this year, before it was invite after you reach 1 million tier and if you reached the tier you would get noir as long as you were in good standing. maybe some peopel who reached 1 million tier didnt get noir because they never had a host to invite them in but all they would have to do is ask and they would get noir.

now no one knows the true change at mgm it is only rumors but they did take out the 1 million tier language from the website and only call it invite only so we'll see.

I conceed on the 7* topic but I think you are wrong on NOIR. As shifter has said, it is based on Theo now so getting to 1M TCs may not make the Theo requirement

At 25pts/$1 spent at MGMMirage Las Vegas properties, could get you Noir, at the $45,000 spending threshold. Mlife even advertised this on their website, until too many corporate planners and the like, used this for easy Noir status. This was Mlife's mistake for even encouraging this in the first place. My thought is, MGMMirage thought that the very wealthy (high resort spenders) would be the ones to utilize this (not expense account execs), thus a true win for their Las Vegas based resorts.

Yes that's one big reason they went back to invite only.

But other then the limo ride and 40% greater points, what are the benefits of the Noir card anyway? Seven Star's has many, yet Noir seems to have few.

If somebody spent that, why not give them this cheap ass perk?

You could easily NOT allow any corporate type accounts - event planners, etc.

As said, it is not like they are giving away much. Offers, invites, etc are tied to theo anyways.

So all they did was anger their key players and in reality this is a scam, to steal earned comp dollars from high level players. With the new express comp limits, by not renewing players Noir cards, Express Comps are then cut from Noir $10k to Platinum $5k.

Their are people on this forum who had between $10k to $25k Express Comps, that lost much of what they had built up. The whole program is garbage and even worse than the current Total Rewards, sadly!

I havent heard of anyone having their ECs taken away if they had over the 10k or 5k limits...

And some people still dont have a limit...is a glitch in the Matrix. Mobile site allows over 10k but the web version shows 10k...

But you are right...the perks of NOIR are not out of this world...however I feel it is the exclusivity of that level that makes it what it is...

My host at bellagio said they dropped the 1 Mil TC's from Noir thing since they had a bunch of locals hitting it pretty easy. People that played a few hundo every weekend can hit Noir pretty easy. I'm no baller, I only gamble $300.00 a day and hit Vegas for a total of 12 days a year and I hit Platinum pretty fast.

So the locals were the ones that forced it back to invite only. They want players that can hit 1 Mil in a few trips, not the little guys that slowly build to it over a solid year.

But why do they care, the card (Noir) gives you no benefits anyway???
How many locals take the airport limo to their casinos anyway???

A fair question, unless there are limo benefits around town I don't see how it costs MGM anything to give noir to locals. It just reduces the exclusivity.

If they want Noir to have the feel of Amex centurion, it would be easier for them to add another tier with all sorts of great benefits thats invite only and offers no disclosed prereqs.

Seems kinda silly to make something have a prereq and then make it invite only especially if it hasnt been in the past.

This would require marketing and management thinking. Sadly, I think the accounting types pushed this as some sort of dollar savings, forgetting that people at this level pay BIG MONEY to get line passes, limo rides, etc.

Pretty sure my last limo ride cost me a few hundred dollars - if I was lucky. Accountants do not get this.

that's what Noir was when Mlife first launched. then some idiot decided they should make it easier to get. it took them about 4 months to figure out that was a terrible idea and now they're switching it back.

Even if they were bored out of their minds why would anyone go to the airport for dinner? Is this kind of like how kids in Kansas or wherever hang out at Walmart at night for fun?

If its the limo ride that's supposed to be the entertainment part of it, sitting in a limo is no more entertaining or luxurious than sitting in a taxi. Just some extra legroom and a less skeevy looking driver.
