I read that if you get the 150,000 points you need to get 7 stars status, that it's not automatic. I know you can't have any incidents (such as unpaid markers or getting into fights).

Would they deny you if you got your points by playing the VP machines which don't have much of a house edge?

    Thanks

It isn't about the game or the house edge, thats taken care of with how VP requires twice as much play to earn a point than slot play does.

The big thing with being invited to Seven Stars, or getting denied, is if you can maintain the level of play that got you there.

A couple of years ago there was a guy on another board that was denied Seven Stars and his story pretty much defines why it is invite only: he was a college student with a part time job that got lucky on a trip to Las Vegas. He wound up taking his big winnings on almost weekly trips to a Harrah's property in Lake Tahoe and was in the process of giving it all back when he hit a big progressive jackpot.
Anyhow, to sum it up: he wound up giving almost everything back to the casino but in the process he did crack the 100,000 TCs, which is what you needed to get to Seven Stars back then.
He tried to get Seven Stars and all the perks and the invites and all that, but wound up getting denied: because now that they have all their money back, he is just back to being a college student with a part time job.

No reason to fret. You'd have earned those points at a lower per-spin rate than on slots, so your total coin-in would also be higher. CET will be happy to give you that fancy Seven Stars card.

how would they ever know the guy is out of money? people come into money all the time (inheritance, lottery, started pimping or selling drugs, etc) and they have no way to know the guy is out of money. the great thing about the casino is they never ask where the money came from, just how much did you bring. sounds like a sketchy story to say the least.

LOL, if you believe that story was why he did not get 7 stars, then you are very gullible.

7 stars is not invite only per se. It is a status that one can earn but could get denied entry due to a number of factors.

Such factors include, outstanding debt obligations (e.g., markers) that have not been resolved, obnoxious behavior--such as mistreating dealers, pit bosses, hosts, etc., or other inappropriate behaviors that the casino deems inappropriate.

They will not deny someone 7 stars because the casino has gotten it's money back.

The story that was shared, as shifter suggested, is sketchy at best. I would not put any weight on it.

But to answer the OP, no it doesn't matter that you earned your points playing VP. You could still earn 7 stars.

7 stars is not all that hard to get now. Heck, even some people, including a few on this board, have won it through the one of the promotions that they had last year.

I imagine if nothing else it would be awful PR to deny a guy the tier he earned because you figure you busted him out. It's kind of like dumping your girlfriend right after you got her pregnant.

If someone had been denied 7-star.... I think we would have heard about it.

    Not to worry.

I know two people who have been denied 7*. Both were extreme advantage players...nobody on this board has anything to worry about. One was banned from all Caesars properties in the US for violating slot club rules (and profiting about $500k in the process), the other was accused of having multiple identities, but never charged or banned. She was denied 7* after three years at that level.

If some people are not invited to NOIR at MGM when they get to the 1M TC level then why is it unreasonable to think people would not be invited to 7* when they get to 150,000?

because the requirement isn't 1M TCs anymore. it's based on theo.

If the 100k theo requirement is true that means for table players it works out to 3,000,000 TCs based on the current earning rates. So it will definitely thin the ranks significantly. I bet the vast majority of NOIR players are much lower than that.

If they keep the theo requirement the same for machine players (instead of a TC number) than its going to increase the requirement for them by a much larger factor than it would for table players. Maybe that's fair since right now it takes way less theo to get to NOIR (or any tier) playing VP than any other game.

If you re-read some of the posts ahead of yours, they gave some explanation.

We still do not KNOW if this invite thing with NOIR will hold. Only rumors, some supposedly based on inside knowledge. Does anyone really think anyone at MLIFE knows what they are going to do?

I read them all before posting but it seemed like some people were saying you won’t get denied and others say you will. What Auggie said makes sense to me...if you make the required TCs because you get lucky one day and play High Roller the next day then it would be dumb for the casino to give you all the perks of 7* if your will play at a much lower level next time. But the whole thing about not getting 7* because the casino got all their money back I do not agree with.

Also consider if someone plays often but at a low level (locals or people who make lots of trips) and they reach the required TCs...they shouldn’t get 7* IMHO.

If the player has history with the casino then it is easy for the casino to look at previous data and see if the person plays at a 7* level or if this was a onetime occurrence. But for new players I would give them 7* and take the risk...if they are a true high player and you deny them because of the lack of data then that will hurt way more than wasting the perks on a low player.

I am not anywhere close to a 7* or NOIR level, but I can see where people at that level are coming from...It's suppose to be an elite level and if they let anyone that can reach a certain number of credits in then it reduces the exclusivity of the level. That’s why I think they removed the NOIR 1M TC requirement...

Understood...but since that use to be the requirement people are still under the impression that if they hit 1M TCs they will get invited. It's the same thing with CET, people get to 150,000 credits and think they will be invited...but as has been shown...that is not the case.

Getting to 7* through small frequent play isn't all that easy. Just run the numbers even with bonus tier credits and its a lot of play. If they did 500 TC per day they'd get 625 after bonus so that would be 240 days of play...its unlikely anyone can go that often. So maybe they do 1000 TC per day and get 2000 after bonus so that is still 75 days of play. That means they go most weekends and drop 10k coin-in on VP per day or 5k coin-in on slots per day. It is still a lot of play.

And those guys could argue a bigger player deserves it less. If you do 2500 TC per day you'd get 7500 after bonus so you could get 7* in 20 days. But your total coin-in would only be 500k for VP, while the smaller daily players did 750k, or 1.2mm, or even 1.5mm. With the new bonus TCs, playing bigger can get you 7* at 1/3rd the actual requirement of 150k TCs. So if the big player is getting there for less cost than anyone else, why shouldn't the smaller players who pay more deserve 7* too?

I get what you're saying, and I understand the part of about exclusivity. If you're a big player you may not want small daily grinders in your club. But you may actually be less profitable to the casino than those guys.

But the bigger ADT guys are the ones that CET are probably trying to entice, which the bonus system does do. If you go to the casino a lot, then they already have their hooks into you. :evillaugh

Well, you can certainly believe what you like.

I will just lay out the facts to you as I know them. You can dismiss them if you choose to do so.

If you reach 150,000 tier credits within 1 yr, you will get 7 stars unless the casino has something on you--inappropriate behaviors, including mistreatment of other players, dealers, and other casino employees; trying to cheat the casino; outstanding debt obligations that have not been resolved; and a few other issues.

If someone was not granted 7 star status after reaching 150,000 tier credits, I can assure you there is more to meet the eye relative to their history with the casino.

Therefore, 7 Star is not "invite only" per se, as CET will not say, "Let's just invite this many people only and not these people."

Rather, they will say, "This person just reached 150,000. Let's review their history with us. Indeed, they are a player in good standing. Let's approve their 7 star status."

This, in a nutshell, is how 7 star status gets approved.

BTW, those others who argue otherwise are doing it based on assumptions rather than having direct knowledge or first hand experience with this. Take it how you want, but I only share the facts.
