    Me and girlfriend late 30's.

Budget can be something around $250 a night.
1st time in Vegas in Sept. Can split hotels for 5 nights.

girlfriend hates smoke smell in rooms.

    Like pool scene during daytime.

Both foodies and like to try different things.

Both into sports and would like somewhere with good sportsbook.

I work in hotel industry in 5 star hotel, don't do unclean etc.

Have been suggested Four seasons, Palazzo, Venetian.

If I go to Palms Place for 2 nights will we stand out like a sore thumb(demographics)

Bellagio would be great for most ideas. Pool scene is rather quiet though.

Cosmo next door has active pool scene and might be great.

I think 4-seasons might be too much for first time visit. Way at end of strip.

First time visitor's tend to love mid strip as there is so much to do

your description screams Bellagio. Four Seasons has no casino or sportsbook.

Yes--Wynn, Palazzo, Bellagio, or Aria would probably be good choices, Bellagio is ideal for a first time trip given your parameters. I would not go with Four Seasons for the first trip--while lovely, it is not really a "Vegas" experience.

Being that you don't mind splitting hotels, you might want to try some of the nicer ones that have what you are looking for:

    Bellagio (nice sportsbook)
    Caesars (nice sportsbook)
    Venetian/Palazzo (nice sportsbook)
    Aria (so-s0 sportsbook)

I would suggest Augustus or Octavius Towers at Caesars Palace. Rooms are newer, large, clean, quiet and bathroom comes with jetted tubs and Augustus Tower has view of the Bellagio Fountains. Casino is sprawling at Caesars but has the kitschy Las Vegas feel. It's centrally located on the Strip. Sports book is great and they are really good about giving you drink coupons when you place bets. The pool at Caesars is beautiful. Not as hip as Cosmo maybe but you can gamble in the pool (adult area). Caesars also has great restaurants, Beijing Noodle No. 9 is great, so is Payards (the restaurant, not the bakery is actually the best part). I've always found Bellagio to be more staid. You can shop at the Forum Shoppes without even stepping outside. It's all connected so very convenient (but be prepared to walk. It's a huge property)

I'll play the contrarian - I suggest you may want to consider Four Seasons. The private guest elevator lobby from Four Seasons provides direct access to the Mandalay Bay lobby (close to the Mandalay Bay hotel elevators) very close to the MB casino floor. Every year (for the past 13 years) we have stayed at Four Seasons for our March Madness trip. (We love college basketball). The MB Sportsbook is our favorite book, and it is less than a 5 minute (all indoors, of course) walk from your room or suite at Four Seasons - assuming you do not have any mobility issues. The MB Sportsbook has big screens and awesome cocktail waitresses (ask for Terri).
Another priority you mentioned was the pool scene. At FS you may decide to enjoy the FS pool where pampering is an art, or you may opt for the wide variety of pool experiences at the MB pool complex: whether you want a Day club, top-optional pool, wave pool, or lazy river (all with plenty of cabana choices) there is something to suit your pool style.

    Enjoy your upcoming trip :)

Bellagio sounds like a good choice. But if you are really anti-smoke, maybe try Vdara. It's wonderful, smoke free hotel, no casino there, but easy access to Bellagio, Cosmo and Aria.

Keep in mind though, September is a very expensive time in Vegas. You may not be able to even get Bellagio for $250, and it would be the very standard room.

Here's a great deal at Vdara. You even get a complementary daybed rental at the pool. (only the basic studio suite though)

Or here you can get a 1 bedroom City Corner Suite (amazing Bellagio fountains view) it's more money, but I think a worthy upgrade.

Four Seasons sounds lovely to me too, I had brunch down there last weekend, it was nice! It felt like a Four Seasons... and not a Vegas hotel if that makes sense. If that is what you are going for. Though I'm not sure I could justify staying there for 4x as much as it would cost me to stay at Mandalay Bay or THEhotel, for basically the same amenities.

Also if the location doesn't bother you I hands down, love Trump. HUGE rooms, the 1 bedroom is over 1200sqft, it's really spectacular and always a great deal.

Quite frankly, I would suggest you go onto hotwire and bid for a 5 star hotel for a weekend in September, maybe the 2nd weekend as the first is Labor Day weekend, so it may be busier. Whatever 5 star hotel you successfully bid on will be just fine.

I am pretty sure that your price will be less than $250 per night, and with some left over to cover the daily resort fee.

    Ok, very difficult choice.

Pool at FS is the best service; but quiet. You can use MB pools; but will need to get there early. Issue - FS and MB too far.

Wynn and Encore have nice mix. Also Encore has Euro pool are...no children allowed.

    Technology:
Cosmo has the best in room tech...best TV's and Directtv like menus. Wynn and Encore are similar.

Palazzo and Venetian...new sportsbook at Venetian has the BEST HD in Vegas. They also have nice pool options; but they are switching a few restaurants....but with 30 others to select...you will be fine.

    ranking
    1. Cosmo
    2. Wynn / Encore
    3. Palazzo / Venetian

    Hvae fun
