after the belly aching and bitching I've done in the past, I think Hollywood Columbus might be coming around with the customer service.

last month, for the first time, the racino in town had more slot play than Hollywood. maybe that helped open their eyes that it's not necessarily the glitz and glam that brings in the customer but what kind of time we have when we are in the building.

today my brother and I took our dad to Hollywood for his 76th birthday. we played a few slots, some vp, then hit some tables. we played some ultimate texas hold em (I got my ass kicked) then moved over to the pai gow table. we played quite a while (I hit my first straight flush ever after thousands and thousands of hands) and as we were coloring up dad, once again, said something about his birthday to us. pierre, the pit boss, overheard and asked what we were doing for dad. we said this is it, a trip and some gambling cash at the casino. he said hold on a second and gave us three buffets. now the level of my play would warrant some buffets but he came over, said nothing was coming off my card, and said happy birthday to dad.

a totally unnecessary gesture but very much appreciated. that my friends, is going above and beyond.

so thanks a million pierre, you really made my dads day special.

I'm glad to hear they are turning around the customer service. I played there several times when they first opened, but the crowded tables and poor tables rules (x2 odds max, pay the vig up front on buy bets) turned me off and I have not been back in a while. Now I hear they have x5 odd on craps and may give them another shot based on your post but currently I'm saving my bankroll for vegas at the end of the month.
