Which of these describe your tipping habits best?

Obviously, we all tip fun and friendly dealers much better than the boring and rude ones. So, assuming you're playing with a dealer that isn't being a prick, how do you go about doing it? Are you all about "if I win, you win"? Or do you take a "I'm tipping for service, not the cards" approach? Or is it something in between?

Craps: If winning then usually will bet during play. But if losing I tend to tip at the end.

BJ: If up big, I tip. Otherwise usually at the end of play.

I tip for service but everyone gets a little something to start off with. If you're making my time at the table fun, you get a steady supply of tips. If you're there just killing time, you will not see any more tips.

I tip when I start to win and increase it if I keep winning. I tip huge when I'm on a heater. but when I'm losing, I don't tip at all. I see it more of sharing a piece of the pie as opposed to tipping for them providing me with a service. but at craps I always throw down bets for the boys.

I always tip for the crew or the dealer to win if I win. I still throw the bets for them if I'm losing, but obviously if it's a loser, we lose together. Craps crews understand how it goes. They appreciate the bets even when they don't hit.

I usually get super tossed and tip more then, where is that option? I have made some dealers a lot of money off of dollar bets. For example, if I am playing 3 card poker (worst game I know, but I love it and play for entertainment) I will put a dollar on both bonus bets on everyone's bet at the table if I am doing good. 5-6 people play, dealer only needs one good one. I try to enjoy myself and bring the party to my table!

I usually only tip when im doing well.

I will bet an extra chip on my stack and one chip for the dealer.

So if the dealer wins, and he takes both chips, I can repeat the bet since I won also with the other chip.

10 dollar bet for my self turns into, 11 for me and 1 for the dealer. as long as I keep winning, the extra dollar goes for the dealer.

craps I usually throw a dollar on the hardways that im after, every now and then I place a passline/odds bet for them on a hot shooter.

    BJ:
Winning or losing, I tip the same unless I get onto a massive heater where I'll up the amount.
I tip on arrival at the table to set the tone, then after each BJ, winning split/ double, shuffle and dealer change.
I always cover the dealers bet on splits and doubles.

If I'm running really bad I usually raise a smile from the dealer by offering the tips as straight tokes instead of placing the bet.
Once I've been playing for a while and they've seen my pattern, I also let them know they can feel free to remind me or pause with the deal if I haven't put their bet out for any reason!
This method seems to thaw even the Robots, and if I ever have the misfortune to encounter a real grouch, I'll just move table.

I like to play Pai Gow. Typically I'll bet 1 red on the bonus. I'll put a buck on the red for the dealer in instead of in front. If I win a bonus I'll give the dealer a tip generated from the buck and it continues to ride. Had one run of 5 or 6 bonus's in a row with the dealer getting tipped each time. Once the dealer understands what I'm doing they become a little friendlier. If I hit something big it gives me control on how much I want to tip the dealer.

Let It Ride- On my first bet I put a buck on the 3 card Bonus next to my bet and then every so often. I've asked several Dealers what they prefer and all have said the 3 Card for the odds.

Craps- I open with a 2-way Hard 8 Parlay ($1 each) and keep it up a few times. Occasionally I 'Place the Point' for them. If someone has a bet on the Line for them I back it up instead.

    When I walk away a winner I'll drop a Hand-in, about 10% or so.

When playing at $100/$200 at the bac tables....

Mostly tip $25 to $50 at the end of the session. Mostly one to three shoes played. When I am playing I tip $5 if say I am betting Banker and Player gets a two card Natural 8 but my Banker gets a total of Natural 9, I tip the dealer. Or any situation where the other side gets a seven or above but I win with an 8 or a 9, I will tip. Another situation is when my opposing side gets a two card 6 which they stand but I get the two card 7 and I win by one point, I tip $5. If I know the dealer and we get along if the other side gets a 9 but I also get a 9 as well where I don't lose, I tip $5.

I know it has nothing to do with the dealer since he/she is just following the rules and dealing the cards but it makes the experience and situation pleasant and profitable for everyone.

I'm mostly a dice player. My usual spread is about $25 per hand and I will put the dealers on my odds for $2-3 after each point that's hit.

My last trip, I bet the don't for about 2/3 of my sessions. Having never done that, I had no clue how to toke the dealers. I just asked each dealer how they wanted it, on the rail or somewhere on the felt. Each and every one wanted it on the don't next to my flat bet!

Craps: I will almost always make a two-way hardway bet for the dealers (piggy backed so it doesn't come down if we hit) if the point is an even number.

BJ, Three Card, Etc: If I get a blackjack or win a big three card hand I will ask the dealer what he/she wants to do, either have a bet with me or put it in the box.

I typically start with a $5 bet for the dealers when playing BJ. If I go on a good run I tip more and typically a lot. If it is cold I still tip but not near as much.

This is pretty much what I do, although I can't say I've ever been on a big enough run to justify upping my tips that much; I usually play $25 or $50, and tip nickels.

I do make it a point to always cover the dealers' splits and doubles, which always seems to surprise them. My philosophy is I wouldn't bet for them like I wouldn't bet for myself. I do the same thing with craps ($5 on the pass line for the boys with $5 odds behind, or two-way random dollar bets).

Roulette I'll tip a few bucks each hit. A few hits in a row probably $5 per hit. No hits usually no tips.

Just started playing craps but mainly just gave them $5 every now and again with the occasional 2 way yo. Only at the golden gate I saw them take the $5 and bet on the pass line.

    I play mostly craps.

I put a dollar on the line for the crew when I'm shooting and I keep that dollar up until my roll is over. If the point is 4 or 10, I'll put dollar odds on the back since it pays proper. I'll put proper odds on any other point if I get on a decent roll.

The dealers have always been seemed to be VERY happy with this tipping pattern. It doesn't sound like much but it adds up quicker than you might think when you consider that 7/11 on the come out pays them $2 every time.
