    My Trip Report

This is my first trip report, going to Vegas with the wife and meeting up some family there. We don't drink much, just mainly eat, gamble and shows. Both of us gamble together, mainly roulette, some BJ, paigow poker and slots in between.

    Day 1
Got first row seats on SW flight, smooth ride and got to Vegas 30 minutes early in the AM, had good parking spots when arrived at Aria, so I'm feeling good about our luck.

Check-in went by quickly, so started to head down to the casino and try out our luck. 10 minutes went by, down 1500, nothing was hitting (about 10 spins). I bet around 13-16 numbers, some more than other. My favorite numbers to bet on is 29 and 6, always most chips on 29 and surround the 29 and 6 with some decent stack. Decided to take a break and go play something slower and bet less to slow it down. Play some craps machine for fun and some penny slots, nothing exciting. Wife play some machine roulette and had some good luck with that, winning about 300. She bets the same number as I do, so when we play roulette together, it can go really bad or really good.

Took a break from gambling, went for lunch in Chinatown at Monta Ramen. One of my favorite place to eat in Vegas since we like Japanese ramen. Soup is a bit salty this time but still good. The chashu pork and boiled egg here are very good.

Went back to Aria and decided to mess around some more with roulette but betting smaller (around 50-100 per bet), no luck there. Down about 2000 now.

Went to dinner at Craftsteak (our first time), it was very good. Had the Wagyu steak, sweet corn, potato puree, lobster bisque, all very good. Adding this to my favorite steak place in Vegas along with Carnevino. After the dinner we went to see Zarkana, had pretty good seats and paid about 50 for each seat, so that was a good deal. Thought the show is OK compared to other Cirque du Soleil sine we have seen most of other shows. Fell asleep from time to time in the show since I was really tired from the long day. After the show, called it a night so I can have some money left to gamble the rest of the trip.

    Day 2
Went down to mess around some more in the early morning, playing some roulette and paigow poker, no luck. Not betting much so down about another 300 or so. Meet the family around 9 to go get some Vietnamese noodles in Chinatown. After that went to Venetian to get some french macaroon for the kids and the ladies wanted to do some shopping. After that went to Cosmo since we have lunch reservation at 12 there for Milos. We all had the 20.13 lunch menu, very good deal for a decent place. Grilled octopus here is my favorite. Tomato salad was very fresh, crunchy and good. Kids had the lobster pasta, the presentation was very nice but the pasta itself was so-so. Other food like lamb chop, sea bass, scallops were decent.

After lunch we went to a Vietnamese concert called Paris by Night 109. This is a very long show, started at 1:30 and did not end until 7:30. Is a show where a lot of the famous Vietnamese singers perform, some lip-sync some not, and there is a comedy skit in between. There are no intermission for this long show, so there's always people walking in and out getting good and drinks. The girl in front of us even had her nails done during the show. People sitting on the floor eating while waiting for the show to start, and they would not start the show until they get the majority of the people in their seats since this was a video shoot in the beginning where they make you clap, cheer, and laugh so they can show it in their final video product. Most people don't come in until 30 minutes after show time, so the singers didn't really perform until 2:30, just typically Vietnamese get together.

After the show is done, meet up with the rest of the family to go to Bacchanal buffet to eat. We had a party of 10, so tips was 18%, 60.99 a person, ouch! It was worth it, I think this is the best buffet in Vegas. Have had pretty much all other buffets on the strip.

After dinner, walked back and stopped by Bellagio to try out our luck, wife just watch. Cash in 500 at the roulette table, decided to slow play and bet about 100 a spin so I can at least get 5 spins, if no hit, quit. First number hit a 6, have about 12.50 on there, good start. A couple of other bad numbers come out so losing back my winning on the 6. Then next number is 29, bingo! Have 27.50 on there. OK! Adding another chip, then boom, 29 come out again, back-to-back. This time had 32.50 on there. A couple bad numbers come out and a one good number 12 right next to 29 but nothing big so slow it down a bit. This time I have about 17.50 on 29, it hit again! Never had 29 hit so many times before. This was in the span of 6 spins. After this 4 more bad numbers came out so I cashed in up 2000 and head back to Aria and call it a night. Too bad I wasn't playing bigger but still a nice win, got about 2/3 of the money wife and I lost back now.

    Day 3
Decided to try our luck again at Aria with roulette, no good. Tried some BJ, didn't go well either. Losing back half of the winning yesterday. Taking a break and head out for lunch off strip. Decided to try spicy pork tacos at Los Antojos. Hole in the wall place but decent tacos. The chicken soup with rice was really good. Got 3 tacos, some sandwich which was Ok, chicken soup 2 drinks for all under 20. Good meal.

Went back to Bellagio to see if I can pick up where we left off last night, no luck, I think we probably lose back all our winnings from the night before so slow play the rest of the day at Monte Carlo and chill at the pool.

Went to Raku in Chinatown for dinner, very good place and not too expensive. Awesome agadashi tofu, grilled Chilean sea bass, foie gras, beef skewer, fluffy cheese cake, and green tea creme brulee. Need to go back here to try the rest of the menu.

    Day 4
Leaving on the evening flight so had all day. Went to Aria buffet for breakfast since we had 2 buffet credits there. Not bad buffet but still not on par with other top notch buffet on the strip. Went to check out after breakfast since we're sick of Aria by now. Heading over to Cosmo and checking in 1 night there for the family since they staying another day. Went to chill at the bamboo pool for a bit and play some BJ then head over to Planet Hollywood to do some shopping and food. Tried Pinks hotdog, good portion but nothing special. Went back to Cosmo and proceed to donate the rest of our money.

Lost most of our bankroll which isn't the first but we'll be back for another try.

Damn, talk about taking a beating. Sounds a lot like my last trip in Feb.

As long as you still had fun and all you lost was the allocated gambling funds then you did the trip right.

Odds are next trip has to be better. At least that is what I keep telling myself. :peace:

Sorry for the losses. At least you had one good run on 29!

It's fun to hear about some non-casino restaurants. One of these days I'll pull myself away from the tables long enough to get off the strip for some grub.

I agree, it s nice to hear about some non-casino restaurants in a TR since I rarely tear myself away....sorry about the diminished bankroll, but there's always next time.
