What is your favorite poker room to play in and why? I'm heading to Vegas in August for my first trip and want to know some of the best rooms to play in. I know Bellagio, Venitian, and Aria are the top notch poker rooms but what about some of the others?

Those 3 rooms are awesome. Caesars has a nice room too.

Caesars is an okay room but it feels like I'm playing in a warehouse. I just don't dig it. But the staff are great and there is usually plenty of games rolling.

I used to swear by Bally's but since they moved the poker room it cut down on a lot of the impulsive players that would walk by and generally donate.

I found myself playing more at Planet Hollywood for the reasons I used to play at Bally's. More casual foot traffic, more impulsive players who (with no disrespect) splash around a bit more. This room is generally a good time.

And while the good old Mirage is still one of the best, at times there are not many games going. But the room and staff are awesome in my opinion.

I'm going solo in August and the rooms I will likely be playing in the most are PH, Bellagio, and if there's action the Mirage. If not I will cross the street to the Venetian.

Good info here. I've been reading good things about Planet Hollywood as the games are fishier for the reasons you stated. I think I might spend most of the time there. How is Treasure Island's room? I'll also be there at the end of Aug. for a solo trip.

Are you looking for a poker room with 10 million in renovations, or are you looking for a poker room that you can win in?

I like the Wynn but I have a disclaimer. They stopped spreading LHE for the most part so I haven't played there in a few years. But they treated me great, the room is beautiful, dealers great and cocktail waitresses are the hottest.

Now I go to Venetian or Bellagio. The only thing with Bellagio is that they aren't the best at treating the lower level players nicely. They've gotten better from what I can tell but you're still not that important. Venetian is great and the noodle bar is close by.

Where did they move the Bally's room? I remember when it used to be across from the craps tables in the middle of the casino

Venetian: Great talent at cocktailing. Enough traffic to always have a good game. Good tournaments. Downsides are the small TVs that are difficult to watch if you are in the middle of the room and it's a hike to the restroom.
Mirage: Use to be THE room. Close to bathroom. Cozy but not crowded feeling. Downside; "seasoned" cocktailers.
Mandalay Bay: I like it because, from the right tables, you can see the big screens in the sports book. Also hear the crowd and such. It is a fun place to play all day Saturday in the fall.
Bellagio: Always lots of action. The wait can be long some times. Downside: The tables are too close together.
Aria: You can eat at the tables. Intimate yet still able to watch the crowds walk by.

Those are the ones I like.

Not worried too much about renovations or how nice the room looks. More about how good the action is in the room, good drink service, and some hot waitresses I can hit on to pass the time.

It's near "Nosh" now, iirc. It's a decent looking room, but foot traffic is definitely nothing like it used to be.

As for best room? Meh. Wherever I can find a cheap mix game...lol Venetian is probably the nicest room I've played in.

All a poker room needs are decent chairs, lighting, and ventilation, plus the right mix of players. In fact, it could do without the first three if it has number four.

    I like :
    - The Venetian, large and confortable
    - Wynn, beautiful
    - PH, good music there
    - mgm, good food, new place is also more quite.

But my favorite so far is the Caesar Palace, nice room, good service, toilet next to the poker room and the rate at the cashier for € to $ is the best in town.

Depends on your level of play. If you're a very good player, you'll enjoy the Venetian and the Aria very much. Good, challenging play with enough fish to go around.

If your play isn't very strong and you're not lucky, you'll be chewed up rather quickly in those rooms. Yep... they're nice rooms. Nice rooms attract the fish and the fish attract the sharks. There are much easier rooms than those.

Bellagio, Wynn, and Caesars are slightly easier.
Mirage, Planet Hollywood, and MGM are still easier.
Bally has to be the easiest room I've ever been to.

Never been to Flamingo and TI, but I hear good things... you have to watch out for the locals and dealers though, but they're very easy to spot.

I really enjoyed Binions downtown for that smaller room atmosphere. There were always 2 tables with NLHE and they have several tournaments daily, if thats your thing. The waitresses weren't young and endowed, but they were WONDERFUL at their jobs, which is much more important to this female player. (and why doesn't Vegas have any MEN schlepping cocktails) They also have some great dealers and really nice folks that run the rooms. The play there is usually pretty tight, but you can get some fish finding their way in. Lots of regulars there for sure, which I enjoy.

I agree with all the places already hit on Strip wise.

    Wynn

I vote for Wynn. They have a comfortable quite room with the best comps ($3/hour) and the lowest rakes ($4/hand max & no jackpot drop). There drink service is fast and top shelf. I wish there were a few more fish, but I find the fishing isn't as good as it was a several years ago anywhere.

I don't play too much poker when I'm in Vegas. However, when I do, I prefer Aria. Bellagio, Caesars and Wynn look like good casinos to play also. I have never played there though.

It has been my favorite room since Mirage dried up ($6-$12). I prefer Limit ($4-$8 through $8-$16 preferred) or tournaments (1-3 hours max or free-roll tournaments). The past three times I went there, all games were NL.

My regular poker rooms in Vegas were:

1990s Played a few times on the North Strip (Desert Inn, Stardust and Silver Slipper). 7 card stud was the game at the time, though it's hard to find these games anymore after Poker went Hollywood.

Mirage through 2008 Great run room, quality drinks all night, treats at 5 AM, comped buffets. Dried up with action moving to Bellagio and later Aria.

Wynn 2008 through 2012 Great $4-$8 action, good mix of players (tourists who didn't care, loose locals/players waiting for NL, lower rake, great drink service, great scenery walking to/from club/parking lot.

Current - Wandering player. The Wynn $4-$8 game dried up though I see 1 game live on the poker app.

I will look to play 4/8 at Wynn, V/P, Orleans, Red Rock and Bally's if they have freerolls as well as guaranteed payout tournaments at Bally's and PHo in August.

I didn't see that Wynn comps $3/hour. Is that new?

MGM is my go to spot. Soft games and treated very well. Aria is a good room as well. Bellagio is very nice but unless you are playing very high stakes management treats you as an afterthought.
