I'm glad finally to hear about somebody hitting a royal playing more than $0.25 or $0.50. $8k is a nice payout.

Fantastic story, top to bottom. Perfectly punctuated by the "oh yeah, this also happened." Congrats on both!

I played in a tourney at the trop last
Friday and Sat. I am very happy with the new trop and have a great host. No royal for me but that looks like vp out side the high limit close to the cashier.

gallagher had specials on HBO he was funny years ago. Would not pay to see him. Great story

I think we were at the same tourney ($60,000 Cash Slot Tournament).
I was very impressed with their organization for many reasons. First off, I liked that they actually had a separate room for the tournaments instead of causing weird gridlock and confusion on the main gaming floor. Second, the purse was significant and EVERYONE won something (the 150+ place gets $50 regardless). Finally . . . ALL CASH PRIZES!!!!! Even the bottom rung. Super cool. We came in 86th place and got a crisp $100 bill.

No. I know the bank of machines you're talking about, but this one is actually IN the high limit room. It was in the back, on the right hand side. I think the denominations that you can play this machine at are $2, $5, $10.

I had gotten a four-of-a-kind a bit earlier and I just had this feeling that the machine "wanted to pay me" (yes, machines I play have feelings). About an hour before I hit the big one I had already been dealt four to the royal with predictable results . . .

    HAHA!!!!

Thanks, Shifter. I'm not a High Roller and I don't even play very much, but I've had AMAZING luck this past year. I only play in the high limit rooms as I want a BIG win. I'd rather play an hour of high limit VP than grind away quarters all day in hopes of possibly winning $100 or something.

I got my very first handpay last year ($3400 at Cosmo).
In December I hit my first ROYAL FLUSH ($4000 at Ballys)
    In April . . . at Cosmo . . . I had what I never thought I would see in a lifetime . . .

I've also had a handful of smaller handpay wins (all from VP) in the past 6 months (about 4 more - all around $2000). I'm pretty sure this will be the first time that I come out in the black for the year . . . by a landslide.

As people will likely wonder at what level I'm really playing . . . . over a 3 day run, I will typically put $1500-$2000 at risk (spread out all over the place on many games --- though all my big scores are always on VP).

So I read your TR the other day and it cracked me up pretty good.

I went to the mailbox the other day and inside was a VIP offer from one of the casinos over in Louisiana offering tickets to Gallagher.

I immediately started cracking up and my girlfriend looked at me like I was a mental patient because some random mailer made me crack up.

Too funny. I used to love Gallagher's shows when they'd air on TV. Didn't realize he was so mean in real life!

lol, Gallagher was funny when I was like 10 (20 years ago!)
I've heard from others that he's a real asshat in real life...
Congrats on the royal at Trop...but 9/6 DB at the $2 level?? I would have figured them for better than that (its our place to play the $3 UTH video machine back by the Bagatelle entrance)
