What are the best places at Aria for an older couple (40's) to have a nice drink and people watch.?
    Would also consider Monte Carlo

For people watching, City Bar at Aria is pretty good. It is just off the casino floor, so there is plenty to see, but it’s separated enough from the casino that you don’t feel right in the middle of everything. I wouldn’t call the cocktails mind blowing or anything, but they’re more than acceptable.

I don’t really think there is much at Monte Carlo for decent drinks and people watching. The bar right off the high limit room is nice. The cocktails aren’t really anything special. But they aren’t bad. People watching is okay, not great. During “normal evening hours”, service is fine. But during the day or late at night, they might not have anyone in there serving drinks at all. The Pub is good for some wings or a burger. Plus they have a good beer selection. But there’s no people watching of which to speak.

BTW…when did 40’s become “an older couple”?!

I actually like the tables along the rail at Lift Bar (the former Bar Moderno), since they look out onto the casino floor. The drinks are good, although, as with City Bar, not mind-blowing. City Bar just feels too walled-off for me.

With Monte Carlo we always go to Ignite Lounge some point late in the evening but not sure what may be going on now that they are doing a facelift up there. Will find out next week and report back.

If you can get an outside table on the patio at the Pub in Monte Carlo great people watching during the day since the pool is alongside the outside patio. Great happy hour specials also there.

Harrahs Carnaval Court...now that is some great train wrecking, bat crapping, crazy people watching at night. Pull up some stools at the bar or grab a table top by the stage and standby. I'll take things I never imagined happening in Vegas for 100 Alex.

Wait a minute, I'll be be 44 the day we arrive to Vegas. Older??? Only as old as you feel. Waitress may I have another shot before "she who must be obeyed" comes back from the bathroom with her girlfriends?

    Cheers.

I like the ARIA View Bar, which is located right off the lobby at checkin. You can see people coming in from one of the ARIA entrances and there's a constant stream of people gettting drinks. It's kind of a tiny bar, but there's a lounge you can sit in, too. I love their signature cocktail called "The Diva".

My wife and I have had a lot of fun at Aria View Bar. One of the bartenders there, Manny, makes great drinks and great conversation.

Only downside to View Bar is that it doesn't open until 2pm and closes at 2am. It's find for hanging out mid-day, but I got into the habit of going to Bar Moderno for a drink before lunch, and wound up just spending my other hanging-out-at-a-bar time there because I had grown to like it.
