I'm in the planning stages of hosting a scavenger hunt for a big group. I would want them to collect items that have the names of the casino/hotel on the item. I don't want anyone to spend any money on the item, but would rather them to take the time to explore the property to snag the item.

I have come up with the following items:
    pen
    used keno ticket
    match book
    wedding chapel brochure
    swizzle stick

Anyone else have any ideas on what we could collect?????

Those "room cards" they give you at check in. They put the keys and small coupons in them.

Coffee pouches. Send them to ShelbyMae when you're finished with them.
    Lanyards from Guest Svcs
    drink coasters
    Race book pencil
    Valet or parking stub

Porn slapper card with a name beginning with an "x," "y," or "z."
Pron slapper card with the name "Jennifer" on it.
    A casino plastic coin bucket.
A BOGO coupon to a strip casino show
A coupon for getting in free to a strip casino show with the purchase of a drink.
A picture with a person dressed as a video game character.
A picture of someone getting kicked in the groin (neither person can be people participating in the scavenger hunt).
A picture of someone wading in a casino fountain (not the Bellagio fountains, for safety sake).
A picture of someone standing next to a drunken makeout.

The stretchy cable that the players club booth gives out that connects old people to slot machines.

No suggestions, but a couple of thoughts:

First would be: instead of items you could do photos, IE: something specific like "take a picture of the million dollars at Binion's" or even something generic like "a picture of yourself sitting in a keno lounge"

Second would be: you could try going on eBay and searching for vegas hotel memorabilia to see whats out there and guage what should be obtainable. Some of the items suggested above would be hard to get if you aren't a guest somewhere (room key, note pads) and I don't think anybody does logoed swizzle sticks anymore.

Way back in the day, ashtrays would've been cool. Many of the casinos used to have logo'd ashtrays - I used to have a pretty good collection...sadly, Mrs Topcard decided that we didn't need them around our two young boys.
    :(

So - I like the idea of player's cards that bear somebody else's name! (a quick run through slot areas should provide plenty of opportunities to find them)!

    Specific beer can
Someone else's players card (they're usually left by someone who forgot it at a slot machine)

Yes, for sure you can get swizzle sticks at any hotel/casino from multiple sources... I'm just saying: do any of the hotels/casinos do swizzle sticks with their logo on them anymore?

I started collecting logo'ed swizzle sticks my last trip. I have Ballys, Paris, Bellgio and a couple of other ones. I get these with my am coffee, never cocktails. Well, maybe when I order Bloody Mary's. These makes great addition to my bar.

I want to thank everyone for their comments; some I can use, some not so much.

I've come up with an idea on how to score the game. For every item that is on the final list that is collected from a strip hotel/casino, they will get 1 point. For every item that is collected from a downtown establishment, they'll receive 2 points. For each item that is collected from a "off strip" hotel/casino, they'll earn 3 points. No duplicates will be counted. The rules will be sent to all of the players a couple of weeks beforehand, so they can develop a game plan (i.e. search maps of casinos, transit schedules, shuttle services, etc. on the internet). But they will not receive the list of items until the morning of the hunt.

I think point rankings for different locations will certainly involve more time, so the length of the stay needs to be considered. Is this going to be over a weekend, or four days? Because I'm not sure I would want to spend three hours round trip on the Duece for a few more points. Conversely, if it was a longer stay, I might want to get away from the Strip/Downtown.

I am a fan of a picture scavenger hunt.
    Whale tale
Whale tale on a guy: triple points
    Someone throwing up
    Largest group of cougars
    Or, group of largest cougars
    Celebrity

Or add to the physical hunt
    Time share pamphlet
    Complaint form to a hotel
Caps to free bottles of water. (Caps are easier to carry around than bottles. And you CAN'T pay for the water if they don't have a business license.)
    Beads (necklace)
    Empty yardlongs
    Dbag sunglasses

I'd love to see the final list.

There was a movie called Midnight Madness where teams solved clues that lead them around the city. They went around LA but it would be a great game for Vegas.
