So is Bacchanal at Caesars now the best buffet?

Or does Bellagio, Wynn or Venetian still hold that title?

I know opinions vary, but any insight would be appreciated. I'm looking forward to trying the Caesars buffet in August.

Well this could be subjective based on price. Having done all the mentioned buffets and lots others in Vegas. Here is how I rank the top ten buffets in LV. Of course price is not factored in this list.

1) Wicked Spoon - Cosmo
2) Wynn Buffet - Wynn LV
3) BACCHANAL BUFFET - CP
4) Bellagio Buffet
5) Aria Buffet - Aria
6) Spice Market Buffet - Planet Hollywood
7) Carnival World Buffet - Rio Las Vegas
8) Cravings Buffet - The Mirage
9) Garden Court Buffet - Main Street Station
10) Studio B - M Resort

 

Its a pretty subjective opinion but i can for sure say that Venetian is not considered to have a top buffet since they dont have one. With that said i think Cosmo and Wynn are my favourites.

 

thanks for the list. i appreciate it. it's interesting that paris didn't make your list....and that the rio buffet you listed wasn't the seafood buffet.

 

We just did the buffet at CP and Bellagio last week. We did the buffet at CP for a breakfast and a dinner

While we found such interesting dinner choices at dinner in CP I found it annoying. Our table was far from the buffet and the plates were heavy. I could not carry a plate and a basket thingy at the same time and then there are sauces etc so my food was always cold by the time I got to eat it

We liked the buffet at Bellagio but we found it to be less "upscale".

I am not a breakfast person but liked the CP breakfast buffet a lot. The bloody Mary was large, super great and only $10

 

I hope not because I wasn't that impressed.
The desserts sure were great though.

 

Funkhouser (and anyone else who'd like to weigh in). I'm curious about your inclusion of the Rio Carnival world. I'm staying at Rio a few days on an upcomming trip and was thinking about hitting it durring a Buffet or Buffet pass (or a groupon I found) but reviews seemed to indicate the carnival world buffet is sub par now adays.

Have you been recently and do you still rank it that high? What about the seafood buffet how does it rank?

My faves so far have been Wynn, Red Rock, and Paris btw.

 

Bacchanal is not on the top of my list; completely unimpressed especially considering the price. Wicked spoon at Cosmo is my favourite. Bacchanal is below the very inexpensive Sunday brunch Palms buffet on my list. I have to think I hit it on a reeeeeeeeeaaaaaly bad day when I read others raving about it.

 

Of the buffets I've been to in the past three years, here's my ranking: Wicked Spoon, Wynn, Cravings, Aria, Bacchanal. The first two beat the next two based on food quality and creativity and service. Bacchanal is well below because I had horrible service (no beverage refills and no clearing of plates) and poor replenishment of options (several items were empty the entire time we were there).

 

Mit, we hit Rio's buffet at least once every trip and I think it has slipped but only a very small amount. What I belive has happened is the competition stepped up and provided a better experience. I can still remember when Rio was the only place with action stations (other than a carving station).

As someone who is not into fish/seafood, I was totally disappointed by the new Aria buffet.

 

I do Breakfast Buffets usually.

1. Mirage
2. Monte Carlo (you pick what you want in Omlet and serve yourself OJ and Coffee)
3. Orleans
4. Bellagio
5. Paris
6. PH
7. Gold Coast
8. Rio

 

Yes it is... right up there with Wynn IMHO and I also put M right up there as well.

 

I've heard the M has a very long wait and isn't run very well. Any feedback on that anyone?

 

I dunno, I've been there twice in the past few months cause I have a good friend that lives out that way. We waited 10-15 minutes, but I don't think that's bad at all. I like a busy buffet, as one of the keys to a good one is the turnover of food. As far as how it's run, if that was heard on here it doesn't surprise me, cause everyone on VMB is freekin' expert on how to run everything in Las Vegas! I spent 20 years of my early career in the food/beverage business and look at some things differently than the average customer, but mainly look to enjoy myself. I did... good food, lots of it, nice people, decent price.

 

We just got to try Bacchanal in May and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It is VERY good. We especially loved the taco station! I think my personal favorite is still Wicked Spoon, but now I have to think about it before I pick between the two.

We also tried the new Aria buffet and, like someone else said, we don't eat seafood. The things we had were very meh, especially considering the price. (We at there Friday dinner, Memorial Day weekend.) We will not likely be going back to that one.

 

Of the handful i've been to

1. The M. Easily the best i've tried on multiple occasions. Desserts are also top notch.

2. Bellagio. They had a 4th of july weekend buffet with extras a few years ago and it was amazing, but on a random day the M is still better in my opinion.

3. Paris. I think they were running out of dinner items the one time i was there, but overall a solid buffet and good desserts. I'd go back if it weren't so crowded.

4. Green Valley Ranch. Pan Asian selections and pulled pork (maybe the best buffet pulled pork i've had) were very good, but aside from the dessert choices, nothing super great about it.

5. Rio. Great for breakfast as they have a good bagel area with lox and all, but otherwise the quality of food isn't as high as some of the others mentioned. Desserts are underrated and worth saving room for.

6. Main Street Station. Really good breakfast as well as some hawaii inspired lunch dishes. Plus free champagne for brunch on the weekend.

7. Stratosphere . Actually a solid buffet for any meal, food quality was decent albeit an average selection. The omelette guy there was very good. Not knocking it at all.

8. Mandalay Bay. Only had breakfast, being that from what i heard it's the easiest for a buffet to be good at. food was decent, but i expected a lot better. Just not one i would return to for the price.

9. Gold Coast- Edible and filling, but to me even the breakfast was iffy. Not a fan.

I've got to give the wynn and cosmo a try next trip.

 

Had been to the M three times in June. Always on early afternoon... late morning for me Twice there wasn't any line and on the last time, around 3-4 p.m. it was really packed. Think because of one or two bigger parties which celebrates graduation. Lucky to use the comp entrance on the right! :evillaugh
But even then I thought it was runned very well. No empty plates, always fresh and hot food. Took a very little longer to get a drink, but who cares?

 

Interesting to see the M get so many good reviews.. will have to try it out someday..

I find Monte Carlo's buffet to be a joke...

 

I tried the Bacchanal last year and while the food was good, the lines once inside at each station was just too much. Instead of little lines where you can just grab something quick and head back to your table, here you had to stand in line a while to get to the other end of the hot items section. By the time you are done, the plate is cold. Also, they couldn't provide oysters fast enough.
