I am a low roller but total rewards seems very generous with room comps , while mlife offers slightly discounted rooms that is all why? I mean I had total rewards comp me 3 nights in rio and have offers for 3 comp nights at another property but m life offers almost nothing .... play for both is lowroller but pretty equal I get freeplay offers from rewards ... nothing from mlife I guess I don't get how one trys to get you to play and stay where the other doesn't seem to give a shit .... the way I see it total rewards will now get most of my play .....free rooms = play
And CET will love you back. I am a low roller (Gold) and only stay at CET properties. In August, i'm staying at Caesars for free, in Nov. i'm staying at Bally's for free, and i just got back from Rio less than 2 months ago.....free. Make sure you check out the rate calender on the TR website. Be sure to input your TR # and then use the "all Las Vegas hotels" in the calender. It will be available for the next 12 months for all properties. If you get "free play" in addition to the comps....even better. But get the room comped first, that's the most important thing.
Pretty easy answer. CET is more liberal with low to mid level players than Mlife. Just how it is. As you get higher up, they somewhat even out. CET will give a Grandma that plays $20 a free room. And, as said above and almost daily, do not book or look at only offers with CET. Go to the rate calendar.
The big part of the problem is: you are saying that you are putting in an equal amount of play at both MLife and Total Rewards resorts, that you are a low roller, and that Total Rewards is treating you better than MLife... So the problem is: you are thinking that the two are equal and as such should treat you equally, but they aren't equal. First, all the MGM properties would be considered "resorts" whereas with CET a couple of their properties would be "hotel/casinos" The comps/offers you are getting from Total Rewards are for an off-strip property (The Rio) and is going to be at one of their "hotel/casino" properties, not likely to be one of their resort properties. Next, just comparing the properties themselves: the MGM properties are of an overall better quality, better upkeep, better cleanliness, better shows, better overall dining options. And when you compare the hotels: the overall median room quality is going to be much much higher at MGM properties. Most of the CET properties are kind of dumpy and worn out and thats largely because they are 40-50+ year old properties that are owned by a company that doesn't do much in the way of renovations or upkeep... whereas with the MGM properties they generally tend to renovate more often and you don't have to go back that far to when most of their hotels didn't even exist.
MGM is the beneficiary of newer buildings. They have left many things slide at Wynn built properties which Steve would never have tolerated if he was still operating (Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Mirage). I agree, they are not quite comparable in quality, so you shouldn't expect the same treatment for identical play. At the same time, you would think that being direct competitors, they would be a little closer in their offers. Alas, I've taken it as a fact of life that I won't be able to get a free week at an MGM property like I do at at CET property. I'll gamble where and how I feel like gambling, and let the offers be what they are.
I normally stay at Planet Hollywood for 5 nights comped because my wife really likes the casino and the location. This past May I could only get three nights comped so the other two nights I got comped at the MGM. You could really tell the difference between the rooms. MGM's remodel is nice. Mark
I hear what your saying , but to me the rio was a very very nice place to stay for free.....off strip is fine with me I got the rio because after I arrived in las vegas and saw how much I wasn't going to stay at the quad even though it was paid for in a package deal I called the rio for any openings and was offered .... I did not ask .... 3 comped nights.....any place that will do that deserves my money in gambling form
I wouldn't go off and focus all my money at MGM as a low roller in the hopes of getting a free room. I will double down on that considering the rumors of even more changes coming to Mlife that all seem to be headed in the direction of pulling back on what they offer. To me, a good match of a players club is one where you can get benefits you enjoy without having to spend every cent of your gambling budget in one program. I like that with CET, I can casino hop all over. And I have seen MLife people burn out feeling as if they have to maintain a gambling level and still see their comps diminish when they do. As for the rest, yes, CET has older hotels. But the big news this week and in weeks past have been conversations on how they are updating their properties in rooms, entertainment and dining. No, they will probably not have an Aria in their lineup but not everyone wants or needs that. I'm glad that there are casino companies that understand that.
i think once bills reopens as the ganseport hotel it will be really nice for cet. ps the remodel of the rooms are nice, yes you will get comps but i belive 10 dollar a nite quad days and 25$ harrahas are over
I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with The Rio, just that it is "off strip" There are actually some nice properties off strip but this was more talking about comps/offers versus location. Just staying on The Strip, as an example, for a lot of people its easier to get comps and offers from Mandalay Bay than it is for Excalibur. Thats not because Excalibur is so many levels above Mandalay Bay in luxury and style, actually its quite the opposite... but Excalibur does have a better location and they have a very high occupancy rate - Mandalay Bay doesn't have either. In the case of The Rio: when people come to Las Vegas there are people that will stay Downtown, some will go off strip, some will go out there to places like M Resort, Green Valley or Red Rock... but most want to stay on The Strip. As such you can get a great room off strip for less than what an average or slightly below average room on The Strip will cost.
This is an apples to oranges comparison. 1. CET has a higher house advantage over MGM on most every game. That means, for every bet, you're paying CET more than you would be at an MGM resort. Yes, this includes craps (the field bet pays double on 12 instead of triple). Their low-limit blackjack rules are the pits. You may as well just hand over your money and walk away. So, if you're playing the exact same amount at both CET and MGM casinos, you're giving away more of your money to CET than you are at MGM. 2. The casinos and rooms are nicer at MGM than they are at almost all CET properties. The ones that are on par (some of the Caesars towers) aren't comped to low rollers... just like the MGM rooms aren't comped to low rollers. MGM doesn't have off-strip accommodations in Vegas and the off-strip casinos tend to be more liberal with comps. That's another reason low-rollers can receive better comps at CET. It's really just a different experience at MGM than it is at CET. It's better gambling in nicer accommodations. If you just want a free room and don't care if the casino has a high(er) house advantage, CET is definitely your spot!
While this may be true in Vegas, it's not true elsewhere in the country. I get Vegas comps based on play during my Road To Rewards, playing 9/5 or 9/6 JOB. When I stay in Vegas under a CET comp, my play is mostly limit or tournament poker. I see at least five advantages with CET: 1. They comp just about anyone. 2. Low playing in Vegas won't hurt future offers if you keep your ADT playing elsewhere up. 3. Their website is easy to use and book. MILFe's website, customer call in numbers and billing blows / is pathetic. 4. CET doesn't care where you play whereas MILFe wants you to play within the casino you are staying at. 5. For the past few years (this year it wasn't offered), I was able to gather $1K in comps relatively easily with the Road to Rewards system (also a free trip w/ airfare). A majority of casino play for MILFe and CET is slots which has poor gambling odds for all players. MILFe low end properties are just as bad as CET low end properties. Same for mid-level. I like PHo, Ballys and Caesars for CET, MGM (though I hate their location) and Bellagio for MILFe. The only difference between their sets of properties are MILFe properties are relatively newer and they have more than one high end casino (Aria and Bellagio vs. Caesars Palace). MILFe offers many crappy 6/5 BJ tables as well. I can find at least one decent 3/2, red chip table in most CET casinos. I do agree green and black chip BJ is superior at MILFe properties. I also believe MILFe has better dining, show options, and is great if you are into boxing or ultimate cock fighting. I no longer stay or play at MILFe properties after their comps dried up. I only stay at CET and limit play to poker or 9/5 JOB and occasional BJ.
LOL. I'm still getting MB offers for 2 free nights and $100 credit from a 2 hour dice session 1.5 years ago! The longer I've stayed away the better the offers. They started with $25 credit, then 1 night free, then 2nights free, to the current offers.
When playing the slots at CET properties it is something like $5 per Tier point for any slot machine. At MGM it can be as high as $10 for a Tier point and less on others, but you don't always know which gives what. Also, if you played put in $100 at Paris, $100 at PH and $100 at Caesars CET views it as $300 played. With MGM if you played $100 at MGM, $100 at NYNY and $100 at Monte Carlo it is viewed as $100 at each place. Knowing the above helps make sense of the limited offers from MLIfe.
Really if you want to get into a HA discussion, you can find bad tables at each companies casinos. And, if you're playing the field in craps you really don't care about HA anyway because HA wise it's not a good bet.
