I want to make another trip to the AEE in January. I haven't been to Vegas in a while so I wouldn't mind splurging on a room for a 3 night weekend.

Wynn jacked up the price to way over 400/night that weekend, no good!

Mandarin Oriental, Cosmo, and Aria are within my price ranges, for the moment. I want a place with a great vibe, clean rooms, great crowd. I'm just not sure who to go with since they still newer properties. I'm 30 by the way, I do gamble small time, and like to eat. :confused2:

MO is not a casino hotel. It does not have a "vibe", and in fact prides it self on low-vibe.

If you scroll down the page, you will find mixed views on Cosmo rooms, but otherwise it might fit your ideas.

Aria might be your best bet.

If service is very important to you, Aria is better than Cosmo. Both have good dining, however Cosmo may the edge. Cosmo will have a younger, fun vibe on the weekend. I prefer to stay at Aria but love the bars at Cosmo.

I didn't comment on MO because I've not stayed there.

Honestly, what's the best deal? All the properties are great! I'm your age and I'd probably go with Cosmo. Might be the most fun. I'd have no problem with Aria either. If you are a gambler I'd go with Aria though, I like their casino.

All three are great choices. Mandarin Oriental is like the Vdara. No gambling and very quiet yet not out of the way. The rooms/suites are immaculate. Very well done.

Aria is great all around. Lovely rooms and pretty good casino. Good dealers.

The Cosmo is good too. Good vibe and casino as up to par but the service has been down hill a bit and the dealers are not as friendly as when it first opened.

The Wynncore can get pretty expensive especially weekends. Do you carry that Red Card? If you do it would go around $200 a night Saturday/Sunday.

I think Cosmo is the only one we should recommend. MO has no casino, Aria is set back from the strip but probably doesn't have as good a vibe as Cosmo. It is where the action is.

Having stayed at all 3 M.O., Aria, Cosmo I would gladly stay at any of the 3 again without hesitation.

That said, if I had to choose one, Cosmo would always be my first choice. Best vibe for your age group, best location, and I would say best room. I would also argue best floor service, but I'm aware of less than stellar hotel service.

M.O. service would be a notch above, but I feel like you pay for that in slightly less space for the price and a much lower excitement level on-property.

Honestly, I spend most of my Vegas time between Cosmo and Aria and have no complaints. My one experience with M.O. was excellent all around as well.

You can't lose with any of these. Have a great trip!

Vibe: Cosmo = Lively; Aria = Subdued; Mandarin Oriental = Private Oasis.

Clean Rooms: MO & Aria = Very Good w/ MO rooms nicer; Cosmo = Usually very good, though people have reported housekeeping issues (My rooms were fine).

    Great Crowd: Cosmo = 20-30s; Aria = 30s - 40s; Mandarin = No casino - typically older guests.

I think you'll have the most fun at the Cosmo, and I prefer their location (easy strip access - better Strip location / not isolated), rooms w/ balcony and lively crowd. Aria has better VP and BJ tables, if this is a consideration, though you won't be comped unless you are betting multi-black / purple.

I like the Wynn more due to better table rules (Cosmo BJ has suffered since their opening w/ CSM and 6/5 at an increasing number of tables), better drink service on the floor (both have excellent service at the tables) and location, but the Cosmo is a good alternative. You'll likely be happy at the other two options, which are better if you rather celebrate Vegas in a low key/quiet way.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I think I may go with Aria. I really like Cosmo's concept, but Aria is about $40 cheaper per night. I just can't understand where Cosmo comes up with the prices for these rooms. Are their occupancy percentages high or something to justify those prices? I'm not being cheap. On any given day I have priced them, even on non weekends, they are usually around $200/night.

Cosmo prices? They do it because they can get it. Having those open balconies is a big part of it. And of course, Aria has 43,894 rooms to sell - or something close to that.

Cosmo is super trendy and MGM is dealing with a huge glut of rooms in City Center. That's the reason for the price difference.

I'm staying at Cosmo in Aug and I'm looking forward to it. That said, MO is my favorite hotel on the strip. Now that I've been to Vegas a lot I appreciate non gaming properties more and more. But if you're looking for more of a fun and hip party scene, Cosmo is the obvious choice.
