That's usually the most fun part for me. From NYNY to Venetian..Casino hopping along the way..Refueling at CR with foot long hot dogs and beer..Outdoor karaoke bar..that other bar with juggling bartenders..

We had our girls soccer team at the Treasure Island and decided to walk them down to New York/New York for the roller-coaster, etc. This was late August and still plenty HOT. Anyways the walk down at 5 p.m. or so seemed to go well, but the return walk at 11 p.m. was a KILLER!!!! That was 10 years ago and my feet still hurt!!!

Crazies walk I have ever done in Vegas. Me and a friend decided it was a good idea to walk from mgm to stratusphere and back lol. We left out at midnight but when we were heading back the strip was doing construction and cleaning all over the street. It was bright as hell outside. I just remember opening the door to my room and crashing on the floor. Lol I had so many foot blisters after that walk haha.

The shocking part is that you decided to walk BACK once you got to Stratosphere .

I would have tapped out and called a cab.

I recall our first trip or two we did so much walking and did the walk from Strat to Luxor where we were staying.

Now, we do much less. Probably no more than 1/2 the strip in a given day.

Our first time ever in Vegas we hit the strip right after check in actually one year ago today. We soon found you could drink on the strip so we walked and drank and walked and drank. This started at 1:30 PM we walked from the Tropicana almost to Circus Circus. We then crossed the strip and walked back down the other side. Walk and drink, walk and drink. It got dark about the time we hit the Flamingo. We continued walking and drinking and decided to grab some Del Taco to go. So we walk and drink all the way back to the Tropicana, I am beat, on the verge of IDK what when she says..........

We don't have any beer in the room lets go get some.

So we end up walking down Tropicana to some run down liquor store and buy 2 12 packs.

I kid you not maybe 50 feet out the door of that place she says I can't go on.

I ended up with her on my back, a 12 pack in each hand and a big 'ol bag of Del Taco on my arm. Once we got to the Tropicana I was able to revive her enough for the short walk to the elevators and the room.

I do have a story about that bag of Del Taco but that's for another thread.:evillaugh

I've never gone as far as the Stratosphere but on my first trip I stayed at MGM and walked all the way to Wynn on that side and then went across the street and came all the way back down to NYNY before crossing back over to MGM. This took most of the day as we went into just about every casino to check it out/drink/gamble.

Now that I've been been a few times I don't walk nearly as far as I used to, usually no more than half of what I did that first time.

A couple years ago in June my wife and I walked the entire strip from Mandalay Bay all the way to strat collecting a $1 chip from each casino. Then we went down town and collected a chip from each freemont casino. That was a very long day.

We used to do that Battan Death March of trying to walk and visit every property on the strip, but on our more recent trips we have stuck more to the center strip properties and found we enjoyed our trips more. I reccommend the "see them all" approach to first timers, but it's nice to let that go eventually too.

This is what we do now. We did have a good laugh at a friend who hasn't been who told us proudly he was going to play every slot on the strip once. He is going for 3 nights:evillaugh

Anyone else ever catch foot blisters? I had to learn to tune my walking down a little bit.......especially on 7 day trips.

Always stayed at the Mirage back when going every year and would leave go left one day to Sahara then right next day to Mandalay Bay. Always enjoyed the walk with so much to do in between. Nothing like walking in the heat and going past an open door front with the AC blasting out on you. Knew that was time for a cold one and rest.

probably six or seven years ago, me and my buddy globe (high school nickname...lol) was in vegas for the ohio state vs michigan football game. we arrived on a thursday night and was staying at nyny. we didn't arrive until late thursday night and i proceeded to lose 50% of my bankroll in the first four hours. i was just about sick. so the next morning i tell him we are going to have to take it easy so my bankroll is partially intact for the weekend so i could bet the football games. we got up friday morning and was out the door by 7 am. we trammed it over to mandalay bay and had some breakfast and played a little while. we then proceeded to hit luxor, excalibur, nyny, Monte Carlo, etc... and continued all the way up one side and then back down the other. we played a while in every casino and drank way more than we usually do. we ate a couple times and had a memorable experience in barbary coast. we were sitting there playing blackjack when he said i'll be back, need to hit the head. so i'm sitting there and all of a sudden this god awful odor hits me and i think they are having plumbing problems. he finally gets back to the table and i ask him if there is somebody dying in the can or if there is already a corpse. he says what are you talking about and i explain. he then tells me he was the only person in there. i about shit my pants laughing so hard. still to this day, that episode gets brought up a couple times a year.

to finish the story, we didn't get back to the room until three the next morning. we basically was walking the strip for 20 hours. i get back to the room, empty my pockets and i'm even for the trip! fifty bucks here, a hundy there adds up when you do it 20 times.

Not foot blisters, but the back of my legs get pretty sore after a few days. I tend to walk a bit fast and "with a purpose" when on the strip; I need to remind myself to slow down to more of a stroll.

I'm gonna post something that all of you already know - Y'all are CRAZY.

Walking to the casino next door is one thing - but seriously? From MB to The STRAT ?!?!?

On another note: I love downtown!

After getting felted (tapped out) my Dad once walked back downtown from MGM. We call it the "empty pockets, kicking stones walk of fame".

Walking is our form of exercise when in Vegas. We walk from Mandalay Bay to the Venetian or the mall and back at least 3 times a trip. Once a trip, while my wife is shopping, I will head to the Strat or Riveria to check them out and do some low level gambling.

On our last trip, we walking from MB to Caesars and it started drizzling. My wife wanted to hit the Forum Shops. I decided to head back and all of a sudden it was poring outside. The Blvd. was a river. I crossed over to Harrah's and the water was up to my ankles. I decided to hop on the monorail to get back. It was out of service. So I walked back. A 30 minute walk took an hour. The roads were a disaster. There must have been 2 or 3 accidents. The drains were clogged and parts of the streets and hotels turned into a lake. I developed a nasty blister because my flip flops were wet. I quickly learned that Vegas turns into the lord of the flies when it rains. Just like DC in the snow.

My very first trip there. lol I walked from TI to Mandalay Bay and back. Now when I plan a trip I start my "Vegas Workout". I try and walk a few miles a day a couple of months before we go. lol
