For the last couple of years both my husband and I have been diamond at CET. Last year, I did not make it. Although I have a basic knowledge of the comp system, somehow, I let that slip away from me.( We usually go to Vegas twice a year, for a week, and Shreveport two or three times, for a few days at a time.)

We have a host at Paris, where we usually stay, and we usually get five nights comped up front, with others, plus a several hundred dollars charged to room, removed upon checkout. We have also stayed at Aria, with three nights comped with little other comps, as you might imagine.

Our budget is usually $400 a piece to gamble with daily, sometimes a little more for the husband, who also plays a lot of poker.

So, knowing our background, help me, please with this question...Should we solidify my husband's diamond status for next year...as of now he has around7000 tc, not sure of mine, as I need to change my email to get my info...and both of us play on his card til he reaches diamond,or.....what? I guess that's the answer, right?

Also, how few hours would you gamble to absolutely NOT use a player's card to trip a day?

Sorry I got long-winded. Thanks for any help.

This is going to depend on how you guys travel and use your benefits. My opinion is married couples who travel together should work on getting one card to diamond first since most of the benefits extend to a companion. After that you can get the other person to diamond to double up on certain individual benefits like $100 dinner and show tickets.

Basically, 1 diamond is worth more than 2 platinums. And 2 15k diamonds is worth more than 1 30k diamond.

No that's about right. Her budget is inline with me and my wifes. We allocate up to $400 EACH per day. We use one card to reach diamond, and have no problem getting 5 nights in Vegas comped AND upgraded. Combined we put up 12,000 points last year over about 18-20 nights in CET casinos around the country. In Vegas we get some charged room items removed at check out too. Not hundreds and hundreds but certainly a steakhouse dinner.

This year we'll each reach Platinum because we know we won't reach 15,000 combined points but with tier bonuses we should both reach 5,000 individually.

the rooms i undestand as cet gives them away but the 100s of comped off the end i dont for that little play.where not talking alot of money.
i put in 350$ in slots in 20 minutes at the rio yesterday just because i was bored.

"We have also stayed at Aria, with three nights comped with little other comps, as you might imagine"
which makes no sense as there comp rate is alot more than cet . at tables its 4 hours at 100 a hand usualy notsure about slots but there budget doesnt seenm right to me,thats just my 2 cents

Getting back to the original question.

Top priority is to get at least one of you to Diamond. If you are both just short of Diamond, well.. that sucks.

Next, do you both have enough play to get you both to Diamond? If the play is not there, then... well... If you do, your next question is what benefits will you get with two Diamond memberships. For us, the biggest is that my wife can go to Diamond Lounge without me. Big perk for us.

Under the plan this year, it is not too hard to get Diamond if you have some strong play days. With 2,500 Tier Credits in one day, you get 5,000 bonus. So, in theory, you can be Diamond in two trips.

I've never used my Diamond to go into one of the lounges yet. I know I can bring in a companion, but is there any way she can go in without me if she has my card? I'd like my gf to be able to use the lounge on her own next week while I'm busy losing money. Do they check ID? Or a picture on their computer?

And, they are serious about it.

But, you can take her in, and then leave.

ridiculous. that shows you how much of a joke diamond is. any high end players card program and your significant other can get full benefits of your level. anything to keep you at the tables.

Diamond Level 3 (80K tier points) - gets a companion card for anyone they choose, in this case the wife. That person gets benefits such as Diamond Lounge without the Diamond holder's presence.

Yeah exactly, seems like a no-brainer to me. I thought keeping the wife/gf busy so the guy could gamble was SOP. Especially when its something with so little cost.

Thanks for the replies. I pretty much thought that using his card to go for his diamond status again was the thing to do. We have actually only used the diamond lounge once at Paris. Don't really know why, except he doesn't drink much, and I don't really like to drink alone. So, I guess that part really doesn't matter. It is really four hundred, not thousand, and that does surprise me too, as I think those are pretty good comps too. We get very nice rooms, usually P rooms with the great Eiffel Tower/fountain view, and have gotten the Calais suite. I actually prefer the P rooms with the view, although two bathrooms was nice. We do have a very nice host(ess?) and although she does not take anything off the front, and at our play I certainly would not expect her to, she is generous on the back end.

BTW, my husband is playing in two of the WSOP events while we are there. Do these count for RC's? TC's?s if not automatically, is there any way to get the buy-in for that to count?

One card might be good for reaching Diamond Aspiration levels at 60-80K points, also you can get a Diamond companion card at that level. It should be noted that reaching 2,500 daily points gets you 7,500 tier credit, so this is possible with two players.

Your offers with a daily theo of 2,500 points or 12,500 of daily play would pay off big time at Harrah's. Strong play at your local casino would put Seven Star's at reach.

My husband and I are both diamond. I don't let him touch my card only because I feel he will lower my comps. I gamble different than him and I get much better comps than he does.

I have gambled on my daughter Gold card and with less than $200 she was getting suites at Ceasars Octavius tower. Its not just for Diamond players.

    Winning on somebody else's card

Will my wife have a problem collecting a payout from the attendent if she has my card in her machine and hits a big jackpot?

There seems to be a lack of understanding on what kind of play can get charges taken off at CET. It's not this high or ridiculous amount that people on here have been suggesting. Indeed, there are a lot of people who are not on this board who gamble with a small budget and still get a lot if not all their charges taken care of at the back end. A lot of it has to do with the host they have.

It's good for people to know that with your $400 daily budget at CET that you are still able to get charges taken off. Just be sure to "appreciate" your host as well. :)

This comes up often and nobody has even indicated a problem. I have won maybe 15 or so hand pays with my wife's card in the machine. I usually know it is there, and I take it out. I then place my card and DL on the machine for the attendant.

I have had a comment before and just said I must have grabbed her card by mistake. Not an issue. Not at all.

That just means you play games with worse odds so you will lose more. If you combine your play it would look like you play good games and bad games so they might give you worse offers. But if you keep it separate they'll just see you as a bad player and will send you more.

The gamblers the casinos like best are the ones that play penny slots for hundreds of pennies a spin because that is the worst slot and they play it for the same amount as dollar slots. If your husband plays video poker, craps, or blackjack it is better not to show those good odds games on your card if you play penny slots.

There is some truth to this. BUT, you should consider this option. On some visits, put ALL play on one card. That player will then be rated higher and get better offers. Even his VP play, or any other play will add to your total, and raise your ADT.

The other player will get less of course, but at some point, who cares if those offers are so low.

I do this with my wife. Every once in a while, I will put heavy play on her card and her offers pop up.
