    Hi,

1st trip to vegas next week. We are staying 5 nights.

Trying to get an idea of what middle age women wear.

Are women in Vegas wearing maxi dresses?

Along with the maxi (if they are worn there) I would lile to wear dress capris, skinny white jeans all with flowy top and heels.

Does that sould acceptable and dressy enough.

Going to see Celine and eat dinner in nice restaurants.

    Thanks in advance!!

I think what you're planning sounds fine. I'm 43 and last week I saw a lot of dresses (some maxi dresses), capri pants and nice tops.

You really will see it all in Vegas though.

Make sure you have at least 1 pair of super comfortable shoes for all the walking.

Totally agree. Just remember it will be steaming hot. You'll see people wearing everything imaginable. Me, at 53, I wear Bermuda shorts and sneakers, probably even when going to a show. Enjoy your trip!

Remember you will probably be doing A LOT of walking so you might want to keep the heels on the low side and comfy. I usually wear shorts or jean type skirts with sneakers or sandals during the day. Capri's and a nice top if we go to a show or nice restaurant in the evening. Just wear what's comfortable for you and you'll be fine. Have fun!

Like a sun dress, but the skirt is long.

You will be fine wearing any of the choices you mentioned. When we have recently attended concerts in Las Vegas (Madonna in October 2012, The Eagles in March 2013, Santana in May 2013) we have seen people wearing everything from faded Levi's type jeans and t- shirts to nice skinny jeans, to maxi dresses, to designer couture. Personally (I'll be 53 next month) I wear skinny jeans (indigo in the winter -with booties, white during other months - with heeled sandals) and distinctive tops to concerts.

    Enjoy planning your trip!

Evidently maxi dresses are the opposite of mini skirts. Who'd have thunk? ;)

You're too kind :). My av was taken in 2010 when I was 50 (I was dressed up for an '80s Party).

Please understand that I run many miles, swim, and spend a lot of time in the weight room, along with eating a fairly disciplined diet, to maintain my fitness.

As Sammasseur pointed out in another thread, it takes effort to achieve and/or maintain fitness in your 50s - it doesn't just 'happen'.

I tell my bride, it's Vegas...dress a sexy as the mirror lets you:wink2:

In a nutshell, no matter what age if you can pull it off and look good, do it. This is the place if there is anyplace in the world.

And of course as others have said, dress for comfort if you're going to do some long walking. It will be hot (as in HOT) so think about spending a little $$ on cabs to get from hotel to hotel if they are not connected. Everything is way farther apart than it looks at first.

    Enjoy:beer:
