Who has the best Pastrami Sandwich downtown? Does it compare to the Deli's on the strip?

I don't know about pastrami, but the deli next to the poker room at Binions has a terrific corned beef. So maybe the pastrami might be good also? Never had it, but have had the corned beef several times.

We are comped at Boyd downtown, but still go to Binions for corned beef and Four Queens for pizza and pay out of pocket.

While it is not as good as it was back in the-day, I am a fan of Binion's Pastrami at the deli (next to the poker room) it is about $7/$8.

By the way, is that pressed turkey on the hot turkey sand?

Not to be a wise ass.......but I will trade an aah atmosphere for better food ANYDAY. Ya cant eat atmosphere and its just a sandwich. Not like ya doing lobster thermidor or something of that ilk.

The turkey sandwich that I had at El Cortez cafe was roasted pieces, not deli slices.
    I wouldn't have recommended that.

Okay, fair comments. My "meh" was a bit lazy and jaded. I hated it when they changed the old Binion's deli setup. It was cool, old-school and had great sandwiches as well as soup. Yes, the sandwiches are still good but it is sometimes hard to find a seat. As for expecting the deli to be somewhat like Vic & Anthony's, not a chance. I still remember eating at the old Boardwalk cafe counter and thinking it was good. However, I will NEVER eat a hotdog at Stage Door...
